Comcast is a joke! I cancelled my service Feb 28th, sold the property. Did not move service... cancelled it. Had a cancel confirmation number. Fast forward three months and I get a collection letter. WTH!!! I called. They never emailed or called to say I had a balance due or anything, just strait to collections. When I called they said it was an early termination fee. (I was never told about). When I asked why they never called or emailed about a balance due... they had BOTH my email and phone number wrong. Please!!! Talk about bullshit! When I was using the service they emailed me every month with confirmation of payment! I will never go back to Comcast. They are crooks!!!!! We have been Comcast customers nearly 25 years. This last year our internet service has been totally unreliable. I finally got tired of not being able to reliably stream and went with a different provider. I was sent letter saying I had $91 credit. A few weeks later I received a bill for $101! After calling Comcast I was told it was my penalty for early termination was $193 so they used my refund and were billing for additional amount. This seems ridiculous since I've been a customer this long! And.... Very unreliable service. Two days later I received an email saying if I didn't pay it would be turned over to a collection agency. (I actually sent payment same day as bill received. This warning was sent two days after my first bill!!!). What's going on with this company! It's like being forced into a dentist office for a root canal without anesthesia or numbing of any kind and having two done at same time trying to get in touch with a human being that you can hear and understand and vice versa. If it were not for me needing internet service here I would have left them a long time again, the minute I had issues with this company. You do NOT GET what you pay for! Exuberant fees and stupid taxes on your bill once the free or special or upgrade trial ends without reminder to call and go through a hellish process to have your bill reduced EVERY SINGLE Time! They prey on people not remembering bc they know they are not a priority in life and yet you will still need access to cable/ internet in todays times, they also do not fix the issues once reported to them and instead make you go through a fixing process on a phone via their repetitive instruction that does not assist you in any way. This is not especially about this store although I have had good and bad experiences at this service center. I have had good, fast and efficient service and at another time I have been lied to. Middle of the road on this store. It is Comcast itself I do not like anymore. They are too much of a monopoly and no longer give good service. I give them as a whole a 1 star or none. So my parents use this service because there are not any others available, their WiFi box quit working and the store gives them a new one, you have to have internet to download the app they want you to use and/or they want it downloaded on your phone! Ummm my parents are in their 90s and have a flip phone and a house line! They barely use cell phones! Seriously tried to call customer service line 10 times and the automated system refused to connect me to an agent to speak with! I am amazing that a company with so much business in a state full of more senior people would make a complicated process of making them download an app on their phone and logging in to activate a damn WiFi box! I am going to purchase star-link for them and set it up because a wet shoe with a hole in it is easier to deal with than this ridiculous company that needs to be dismantled! Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. Subscribed for cable internet and bundled a phone with subscription. Samsung S22. Phone overheating and cooks your hand. Informed Xfinity rite away in first couple days. We winter in Florida and summer in Michigan one would think xfinity is a national company and you could get service anywhere. Wrong first off if you call Xfinity you will get a call center in the Philippines . You will be lied to and deceived over and over again. Tried to get replacement phone at local xfinity store up north in Michigan and Indiana. They could not help me and only option was to contact customer service which is again in Philippines. They agreed to send out a replacement phone. But wait they can only send it to the billing address of account. Yes that is in Florida and of course no one is at that address all summer. Sorry that is only option. Xfinity does send replacement phone to Florida address anyway and claims it was delivered which it never was. Countless call to try and solve the problem. Xfinity wants original phone sent back which is the only phone we have again never received the replacement. They then auto draft my account for $1000 for not sending the old and only phone back. Took 6 months of fighting and they eventually refunded the $1000 they stole from me. Returned to Florida in February to try again the phone still overhears and you can't send or receive photos in text messages. Apparently that is acceptable to Xfinity. We were told it is now a warranty issue with Samsung and we had to take to there service center 3 hrs away at a specific Best Buy store. Make the trip and BestBuy looks at phone and claims the problem is with the service provider Xfinity. Return to the Port Charlotte Xfinity again and was told to leave the store and never return. Yes J am not kidding. I have never been treated more poorly in my life at any business establishment. Cost me couple thousand dollars and almost a year of misery but am finally done with this company. Left Xfinity and went straight to ATT and purchased a new IPhone and they had a new internet solution for less than 1/2 the cost of Xfinity cable. Will be such a pleasure firing them and will enjoy watch xfinity fail. There is no doubt in my mind I will get to see that day. Our internet went down on 9 days ago at 2 am. According to "customer service", diagnostics there was a firmware upgrade. Comcast stated that a service tech needed to come out and replace the modem. They could not service it for 6 days. We have a guest in the house and we needed the tech to access an outside closet. Customer service said this was not a problem and took down notes on how to access the closet. The Tech came, inspected the house but would not enter. When "John" called my daughter to report that it was their policy to not enter customer houses, he was rude to the point that he caused my daughter to cry. I called him back asking why he would not solve it and was so rude. He hung up on me. Calling support again, they scheduled an emergency appointment for 2 days ago. "John" cancelled the appointment without going to the house. Now Comcast wants me to pay $100 for a new appointment 7 days from now. That will be 16 days without internet. Customer service has NO ability to contact the local techs, and techs have the ability to ruin your service. read more

I wish it was possible to give no stars!!! So I ordered internet service December 16th, 2019.. Received a self-install kit which was a new modem, not an old one. (The only thing that didn't suck) I called to activate after I found the wire coming to the house from the pole. Customer service said there was no detection of the modem and that I must have it connected to the wrong wire. I explained that I had it connected directly to the pole and that the problem is at the pole. After 4 hours of them insisting I needed installation help because I was doing something wrong, I convinced them, finally, to waive the $70 fee and agree to send a tech to connect the wire at the pole. The house had not had service in 5 years and the pole had been disconnected for 5 years!!! Comcast began billing me without ever sending anyone to connect the service!!! So they agree to send a tech on Dec. 22nd. I was going out of town for holidays so I agree, no problem. I was supposed to receive a text from the tech which I never received but I was on the road and didn't think much of it. I come back to the wire still hanging and not connected at the pole!!! I call again. This time I am told they will never send a tech to do anything, including turning service on, without the customer first agreeing to pay $70!! They lied to me and never actually made the appointment!!!! It is now Jan. 6th, almost a month since I ordered service and have been paying for service!! It is Comcast policy to charge you for services they are not providing by not connecting the service at the pole!!!! If this was their policy, they should tell the customer up front!!! Why do we have to wait a month or 2 weeks until we figure out that nothing works before they will tell you that it is mandatory $70 fee to start service!!! Bottom line is, it will always cost $70 and need a tech to connect at pole since they will always disconnect at the pole when service ends!! I have had numerous cable internet services and this is the absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with!!!!! C rating with the BBB, 40k+ complaints, and most definitely worse than that!!!!!!!!! I have had cable internet since 2003 and I have now gone to DSL!!! Terrible equipment and customer service. All there equipment is used and only lasts a few months and then Goes out!! No install people available for like two Days so u then have to make a trip to Edgewater to pick up a box and then get home 45 minutes later and the box doesn't even work. Go back Again and finally works.... customer service is in India and they suck!!!! Assume they can't get it together and now we are stuck for another 1 1/2..... we have had 5 new boxes since April 2019..... If you can avoid using Comcast please do. Nothing but an expensive nightmare from the beginning and now trying to get a transfer of service due to a move has made it worse. Been dealing with company for week and half and have had two technicians come out. Still no internet and cable. Customer service says "But you aren't paying for anything right now as your service is suspended until you get hooked up." No kidding! That's because nobody has wired the house right outside. Two dates were given for that and nobody showed. All I've been offered is a $20 comp. and I tried to cancel but it was a $200 fee to break contract. Kind of hard to have a contract when service was suspended! Been in new house for over a week and nothing! Asked for supervisor to call back and it never happens. I've spent countless hours on phone and even took a 1/2 off work to meet technician at house. Did the job get done yet? No! I just want to be done with this company and they won't allow it! Update: It took 12 days and 5 different scheduled tech appointments (including two where I had to take off work early) just to get cable and Internet. I cannot tell you the hours wasted on the phone with customer service. It took my filing a complaint with the FCC to get a higher up to call me back and fix my bill (which was wrong because they never took off tech fee, comped the $20 inconvenience offering, and not updated with the 12 days I didn't have cable). They quote a discounted price if you pay direct debit then they take out $100 a month for just internet when they asked amount was $70 a month. Said they would fix but didn't and when I ended my contract, they sent me to collections when they actually owe me money. Ordered cable and internet. Paid the 70 dollar installation fee as i wanted cable moved in my livingroom and attempted to have it put in my screened porch. There was a panel on my wall where I wanted cable in my livingroom. Installer said there was only one wire so if he put cable in my livingroom I would lose it in the bedroom. Couldn't put cable in my porch. Told him to leave since he couldn't do the job I was paying for. He called the dispatcher who spoke to him and I both. Dispatcher couldn't understand why the installer couldn't do what I wanted. He said he would send out another technician tomorrow. Called customer service and all they could do is apologize. General Comcast service and technical support. There service is so arrogant and unprofessional I can not understand how they are permitted to be in business. Problem in local service is changing channels can take 2-5 seconds on most channels. Problem is 3/4 set-top boxes average 1-3 seconds delay, technical support claims this is normal and within there established tolerances, while main set takes 3-5 seconds on average. Field tech says this one location is excessive delay even bu their standards but unable to restore proper service , even replaced the box. Escalated to next level took 2 days for response and his attitude was - you need to live with it, tough crap, even though we had decent service 6 + months ago. This was local supervisor my the punta gorda"FL area. I asked to have ticket escalated to his next level management and he. Said they would call on Monday, now it is Tuesday PM, and still no call. This "service provider" is anything but! It would take two hours and three typewritten pages to itemize the list of issues since we moved to the area a few months ago. Every "service" call results in at least two more to straighten out the issues from the initial call -- I do not exaggerate on this statement. Their billing is a joke -- God help you if you change or upgrade anything with your service. We initially set up automatic/direct payment of our bills. Strongly advise you not to go that route because this company literally never gets billing right. Every single month (again, no exaggeration) involves phone calls to address billing errors. many of them quite significant. Payments not credited is simply standard operating procedure. Complete JOKE! Had the internet arranged on 10/26 where they were supposed to meet my mother in law who waited for 4.5 hours! And never showed! Then dropped the ball again. The tech went to sw 11th ave instead of sw 11th place. I was set to transfer our Verizon phones and all! They again missed their appointment because they went to the wrong address again. So I canceled Monday 11/1 but they still sent the SIM cards in a package to the wrong address. My child has not been able to do her school work because of the incompetence of xfinity and the installer. So after hours on the phone with these morons I finally got them to understand they went to ave and not place. I wouldn't recommend xfinity or comcast to anyone. They truly don't care about their customers. Oh and their support is mostly foreigners and extremely difficult to understand and communicate with. This is a Mickey Mouse operation.
