Johnnie and Reggie came over instantly, ensured our water was turned off, set up powerful wet vacuums and sucked out over 200 gallons of water. They were able to save the carpeting and items on the floor. Upon leaving day 1, they left 2 industrial fans and a dehumidifier on, knowing they would be returning the next morning on Thursday. I was asked to move the fans around in a few hours to help with drying. Return they did....at 7:30 a.m. ...a time convenient for both me and the men. They moved the fans and the dehumidifier as needed and checked out the drying progress. We would meet again on day 3 Friday at 7:30 a.m. if needed. However, progress was so good, it wasn't necessary and we met at 7:30 a.m. on Monday instead. Not only did they come to check on the progress, they cleaned everything up, did additional sanitizing and returned all items to their place. I found Stephen David's carpet cleaning service through YELP. I reached out to several businesses…read more Stephen replied quickly. He's local to my area and I like to support local, nearby small businesses. We chatted on the phone and he was able to fit me into the schedule for next day service, which was very convenient as I had limited availability to be home. On the day of service he texted me giving me updated time of arrival and showed up on time. I had a 770 square foot condo which required carpet cleaning of living room / dining room, a hallway, a coat closet, a bedroom and a walk in closet. He charged $205 which is reasonable and fair for the job. Stephen was friendly and personable and explained what he and his two helpers would do. They identified the building water supply and brought in the needed equipment to set up. They pretreated some stubborn stains near the front door entrance and pretreated the carpet with spray solvent / detergent. They also had plastic wall corner protectors (kind of like traffic cones) designed to protect the corners of the walls against scrapes or scuffing from the vacuum hose and electrical cords of the cleaning machines. They then used an agitator bristle brush rotary machine to scrub down the carpet. Next, they used a hot steam sprayer combined with a vacuum to steam clean the carpet and suction up the dirty water / detergent mix. They were very thorough working on the carpet until all stains were removed. I had moved 90% of the furniture ahead of time to make their job faster and easier and they moved the other 10% quickly and efficiently. Overall the set up took about 25 minutes and the carpet cleaning took about 1 hour. Afterwards Stephen gave me plastic squares to put under the bed frame and table legs. He gave me instructions on how to let the carpet fully air dry for 24 hours. I was also given a few business cards and asked him about his other clientele. Overall it was a super smooth and friendly exchange and my carpets look great and it has changed the energy of the condo. It was a great and necessary part of my spring cleaning. Also the week before I had a guest stay with me who had brought a new puppy that peed / pooped and chewed on the carpet (even though we put down puppy pads, it missed the pad when doing its business). This was also why I wanted to have the carpets professionally cleaned. I offed to pay my bill in credit or cash. Stephen and I agreed on cash. I received a written professional invoice upon payment. Stephen says he's been in the business for about 40 years. It shows, he's professional, friendly and efficient. Nice job! 5 stars out of 5 stars from me. I would hire him again.

For years a preferred vendor took great care of me, but as his health declined I was looking for someone new. Big Al a.k.a. Alfred was recommended. He took 4HRS to clean 3 area rugs + headboard. Unfortunately he ruined one of my rugs. I've attached pictures. He immediately apologized and said he'd replace it. He offered to come over to remove the rug, I was uncomfortable with my personal experience with him so I opted for the building maintenance team to help. It took 4 of us to remove the area rug. He knew the Ritz was removing the rug, we communicated regularly. He knew I was communicating with the interior designer who did the decor. When I got the estimate to replace from the designer he then refused to pay for the rug and asked for make, model and original receipt, all of which he didn't ask earlier. I eventually got the make + model but due to a server issue at the Ritz they couldn't get the original receipt. (We bought everything from the model and it's a custom rug only sold to interior designers and it's super expensive). Bottom line he promise to replace, he will not. I provided, after back and forth with the designer, the make and model. I even went with a lesser option to save him money, my rug border cost 30% more. He didn't refund me what I paid for cleaning, he won't replace what he destroyed. I've felt unsafe as a single woman. He destroyed my rug. He refused after promising to replace it to replace it, after he found out what it cost. He didn't offer to refund my cleaning. The rug had normal wear and tear, it had no stains. I have before and after pictures, I've included. I have always counted on the building recommendations as an owner who didn't live on site. I just don't want anyone to experience what I did. I signed nothing not guaranteeing his work. He told me to get an attorney and he'd see me in court. I am a small business owner, this is never how I would treat a client. I would have provided steps and what I would need for an insurance claim up front, not after I realized how much the carpet cost. He then tried to intimidate my review with a defamation lawsuit. My only hope is to share what I've endured and hope you don't experience the same. REPLY TO HIS RESPONSE: Stapleton Consulting Services and Anita Lee Stapleton are the design firm used by the Ritz Carlton. Please google her. She comes up easily. Her phone number and address are on the invoice. The make and model was provided. The GM of the Ritz would provide a letter why the original receipt isn't available as I bought all the model furniture from the Ritz. The back and forth only came based me conveying what the designer said as the rug is sold only to designers not in stores. He asked the race of my ex-husband, I would never share that. It was awkward and unprofessional. We were speaking about a head mark he cleaned on the head board left from an athlete tenant. I commented my ex-husband slept here for years without the issue. People can be dirty. It doesn't matter in this situation what race any of us are. You notice he mentioned it I did not. My issue is he used the wrong chemical on a rug and destroyed it.
