    Landmark location :)
    Sheila P.

I went to the downtown location just a few days ago, and it was my first time at this location. I really enjoyed not having to worry about parking as there were multiple FREE lots for hundreds of cars. That's one of the benefits to attending an event out of the city/downtown area. Getting in was easy, no long lines or any type of hassle. You just need to show them your id. This location also used yondr pouches to lock up phones. I was seated pretty close to the stage, in the second row, and it was absolutely great! This was the Thick Skin event, which had me laughing nonstop. Not only did we see various comedians come on stage, but there was also a contest at the end for the ugliest tattoo LOL and the winner gets a $100 gift certificate to a tattoo removal place. I thought it was absolutely hilarious and would definitely return to this location if I were in town again. I especially appreciated Matt's (I think that's his name with the long curly hair and mustache?) face the entire time he MC'd, that alone was pure comedy! Inside the service was great-I ended up ordering the mozzarella sticks with ranch and raspberry cheesecake. Everything was great, esp. being picked on during the show!

    The man. Mr Mencia.

Where does one sit if they are in a power wheelchair?

There is an elevator that will take you to the basement level where the comedy show is. Seating would most likely be towards the middle.

They greeted us immediately and gave us a map of the property. We had fun walking around and checking out the animals and historic buildings on site. It is wild this place is right in the middle of a neighborhood. The only issue we had was parking because we the lot is full you're out of options.

Wow, my yesterday's visit to this historic park was so mesmerizing. It's because of their annual…read more(?) "Bright Nights" (originally a lantern festival.) It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

The Lake House reopened during quarantine with many restrictions around food and social distancing, but we still had a blast. Parking was awful because the main entrance was blocked off, so we found a nearby school lot. It was a nice walk down to the marina. We headed straight to the bar and ordered White Claws and shots. Not sure if this is their typical alcohol selection or limited because of COVID-19. Either way, there was one bartender juggling all the patrons, and she was always friendly. Seating lined the outdoor patio facing the beach. My friend said there used to be live music here, but I guess we'll have to wait until the pandemic is over. For food, they only had basic hot dogs roasting in the oven and bags of chips. For how much we drank, I'm grateful there was anything. Overall it's a decent pub and a perfect spot to take the pups after a day in Cherry Creek park.

I have never had such a horrific experience! They put us in a room one floor under their extremely loud and obnoxious bar Halo, even after I requested a quiet corner room. After having to deal with moving rooms, we decided to have dinner at the restaurant Saverina. I was greeted at the host desk by a server who refused to seat us in the restaurant because I had my service dog with me. I gently reminded her that she is not allowed to refuse us service (he is extremely well-behaved and wears all the apparel required for a trained service dog). I was shocked that she was questioning his validity. After continuing to argue with me, she finally huffed off and said that she would have to ask her manager. They finally got me a table, but we sat there waiting for service for a ridiculous amount of time--something to do with the bartender waiting on us. Kimpton has always impressed me with their hospitality and extremely dog-friendly hotels. Sadly, they have completely missed the mark with the Claret Hotel and restaurant Saverina.
