I HATE this bank!!!! All customer service reps are either rude or tell you one thing then say another. This bank is such a scam!!!! I use to have good credit. They never once called me to tell me that there was a "problem" with my bank until I was three months behind and when I told them If that was the case why would I get a notification from them saying my payments went through. And they had no real answers. I even told them why is it one of my cards was getting paid with the SAME BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER and yet the other two weren't going through and they blamed me for not putting in the right information. They are such a SCAM!!!!!!!!! I hope they get audited soon because this feels so illegal. read more

If you find FRAUDULENT charges on your credit card account & mailed the required documentation on time, they always say they never received it, so by the 60 days make you cant dispute it. I have sent the documentation 3 times in the last 30 days and they have no record of it. As soon as this is taken care of the account will be closed. I have excellent credit and will make sure to never have an account with Comenity or it subsidiaries in my lifetime again. Comenity is a true GARBAGE financial institution. Tell you friends & family people! read more

I don't know how their practices are even recognized as legitimate. They conduct the billing services for many of the department stores including J.Jill. I opened a credit card with J. Jill. What a mistake. Comenity has a way of billing you a late fee because they don't "post" their payments on time. I use billpay and even my bank can't figure them out. I mailed a payment through my billpay in plenty of time. Mailed on 4/11, due on 4/19. My bank said they have to use a paper check? a bank that doesn't use electronic funds for payments? My bank said the check got there in plenty of time but evidentally Comenity didn't post it until the 24th and decided to charge me a late fee and say they didn't get it in time. And then to make it worse they said the account number was wrong. It wasn't wrong, it was just the last 4 digits because that's what my billpay uses. Then Comenity thinks they are doing me the favor for giving me a "courtesy" refund on the late payment. This really irritated me. They should not have charged me at all. Needless to say I am cancelling my J. Jill account. Love the store hate their billing provider. Will never do business with Comenity. read more

So, I had an account with them since 2013 that was in really good standing and it was abruptly closed without my knowledge. And when I tried to reopen that account.. apparently I only had 1 week from when it was closed to try and reopen it. Yeah, that would've been nice to know cause I literally found out that it was closed from looking on Credit Karma just a couple days after the 1 week period. So, don't do business with them. Go through a different bank and save yourself the trouble. read more

I have a credit card from The Childrens Place which is through this bank. I have been a member with them for about 4 years and never had issues till Aug 2021. They kept getting my banking info incorrect and wouldn't post my payments. I would also make payments and they would reject my payments . Becauses of this they started to charged me return fees which was not my fault or my personal bank (chase ) fault. I am disputing a charge which they told me in 3 days it will be handled and that didn't happen. They are very messing handling payments and I absolutely do not trust this bank. Because they ate such a bad bank after I get my dispute finalize I am closing my credit card even though that may hurt my credit score. One of the customer service rep told me I have great payment history and do nor go over board. So I don't think there should be any fee other than the charge I use to shop which was paid off before my closing dates yet they are still finding ways to charge me extra money. Do not use this bank and before applying for a store credit card be sure to ask what bank is it through and if it's with this bank don't bother getting it. read more

My wife passed away in 2017 & I called to have her Boscov's credit card account closed. The representative on the phone I talked to a Comenity (Calamity Bank) said I needed to write them a letter & provide a copy of the death certificate. Which I did. Here it is 2 months later and I call to check on it and the tell me "we cannot share that information with you & we need an Executed Estate Statement? What the hell is that!? I tried to tell her that everything passes to the remaining spouse when one of the married spouses pass away. No matter, "I can't close the account". WTF? These people are morons. Now I'm going to report these idiots to the BBB and anyone else that'll listen. Never again! read more

Make sure you're aware of all your account details at all times (promotional plans, expiration dates, interest rates, etc.) because they will place ridiculous amounts on your account without warning. They will call and send multiple messages about a missed payment, but will say nothing about an $800 finance charge. Then if you call and explain the situation about having no information on this promotional plan THEY put you on and actually offer to pay off the entire amount balance at that moment, they will still, literally, say screw you and that you should have read the monthly statement (which they acknowledged no one including themselves reads every month). One heck of a operation. read more

I was so excited to join Comenity Bank. The interest rates are a little bettrer and the website is actually quite cool. Then the reality set in. I set up an account and funded it electronically from another bank. Three days later I wanted to create a Comenity CD with that amount. Found out that new accounts have a TEN DAY hold on new deposits. I immediately had the money reveresed back to Ally. read more

First I want to thank all of you for displaying your frustrations with this company. Like Marlene in HI if I could give a zero I would and the first words out of REV. David in Palm Springs is, This Company Sucks I knew I wasn't alone. I thought it was just me being frustrated during this Pandemic and the financial hardship associated with it. Another company associated with them is Alphaeon Credit Union, they offer 12 months no interest when I had cataract surgery back in December. I pay my bills early and when COVID-19 hit hard they sent me an email (I didn't ask they emailed me), we understand your hardship please call us so we can help. I called on March 20th, was on hold for 38 minutes then spoke to the customer service department for 45 minutes only to be told we can't help you because you haven't been a client for 6 months. I immediately went on the web site because the rep told me someone would respond quickly, asking why would you ask if you can help only to tell me you won't? Today they finally replied with this, "Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us about your account. As the impact of COVID 19 continues to affect all of us, we want to apologize for the delay in responding to your message. To give your situation the care and attention it deserves, we ask that you please call the phone number on your card's billing statement and or on the back of your card, so we can talk with you directly. We're very sorry for the inconvenience and hope you'll understand. If you've already reached out and/or you no longer need us to address your concern, please don't feel you must reply. We appreciate your business." I feel much better finding out who this terrible company is and will not only pay off my account and close it as soon as I can, I will also make sure I have a paper trail with dates confirming all transactions. Thanks again and please be safe, Gary F. Corona, CA. read more

Comenity Bank, which holds accounts for many stores, is closing accounts for NO reason. I was sent a letter that stated they were closing one of my accounts due to "previous negative experiences with Comenity of Comenity Capital Bank." I have not had anything negative with your bank or any of my cards - always pay my account on time or before, and for more than the minimum due. Like I told the rep I spoke with on the phone - this is ONLY because of the pandemic - they are freaking out and closing accounts on people who don't use them very often. THIS is going to bite you guys in the end. I'll be closing every single one of my accounts ... read more

This is the most dishonest bank next to usaa and twinstar. they will charge you false late fees and deny it. if they give you a credit it isn't a full credit. they HATE refunding people's money. they will accuse you of requesting a credit line increase when you didn't do such a thing. they don't tell you if there is an issue with your payment. they deny payments to intentionally screw up your credit. they will tell you there is no payment due, but rack up late fees unseen until the next payment. you can have a zero balance and they will still try to say you owe money. they need to be put out of business. good luck trying to get a hold of a manager, the reps are so ignorant they will ALWAYS tell you there isn't one available. read more

I am leaving this review on behalf of my husband and daughter who both have an account with Wayfair and they cannot contact this bank to get the information needed to MAKE A PAYMENT!! They applied and we moved and no card was ever received and of course they can use the card when logged into the Wayfair site or app but can't make a payment! I have to point some blame Wayfair (and any other retail company using this bank) as well because they're allowing this! And the calls (mentioned in another review) that the bank makes to you is spot on! However, it's been well over 2 weeks now and NO NEW CARDS! It's just absurd and of course now it's affecting their credit and it's not even their fault! BEYOND frustrating! I've watched them both send multiple emails and call to try to get online access and NO REPLY & the call, this is when a new card was promised! Pretty sad and even worse, I notice that it shows if this is my business, so the bank obviously doesn't care. And it's difficult moving forward to know what retail cards use this bank! Hopefully I can figure it out because I will stay FAR FAR AWAY from ANYONE that uses this bank!! So sad read more

Please avoid if possible. You can make your payment on the day it is due, but at the wrong time (after 8pm) - right day, wrong time and they will call it late. The automated phone system is a nightmare. Avoid using or use sparingly - there are other credit cards and ways to pay that are superior. Don't risk your credit, take control of it. read more

Please see the letter to this bank's CEO!!! I requested a call or response in some way, but received nothing. I call Customer Service and receive no help. I had a dispute for $4,000 and provided Comenity with multiple documents supporting my case; they resolved the case in my favor on 3/25 and rescinded their decision on 4/18! This is total incompetence and lack of respect for their customers. They favor the businesses. January 7, 2019 Dear Mr. Ostler, I am sorry to have to write to you in full desperation and frustration. I acquired your credit card in October 2018 with the plan that this was going to be my new and primary major credit card. I used it for a $12,000 payment to a venue for my daughter's wedding on October 24, 2018. When I gave it to Bob, the owner, he did not want to take it and requested cash instead. I told him that I did not have $12K cash and for my own reasons, I was using my credit card. I was annoyed and shocked at his unprofessionalism to speak to a customer as he did to me. My reasons for using my credit cards are for the points, but mainly for the security if the merchandise/services were unacceptable. This would allow me to go back to the bank and do a dispute. I NEVER thought that this would be the case regarding my only daughter's only wedding! In almost 50 years of having credit cards, I have only had to file a dispute one other time with a vacation club. I paid thousands of dollars to a club due to promises made to me, but never received. I had used my Discover and Capital One cards for that transaction, thank God. The dispute went on for months, but once completed, I won. Both my banks informed me that I was being reimbursed for the amounts in addition to interest. They also told me that if I had paid using my debit card or check, I might not have been as lucky. Since then (10 years ago), I always use my credit card for everything! I tried to work with Bob (owner), Mike (owner) and Casey (manager); but without success. I finally opened the dispute in November via the phone. Your Customer Care representative informed me that I would be notified once they had questions. I waited a few weeks and called last week for the status; and was told that I lost! No questions, no documentation requested and no one cared! I received a letter that week which told me that they may need an additional 90 days to review and to send documentation if I had any. That is when I called them to find out that they closed it without my input. When I had opened it on the phone, your representative told me that I would be contacted when they were ready. I felt discouraged and without confidence in this bank's loyalty to their customers. Tara is my only daughter and I wanted her to have the wedding of a lifetime! I was a single mom with three kids who worked two jobs to support my kids; while providing them with everything they needed and much of what they wanted! I felt taken advantage of and lied to from the venue; and then from the people who were supposed to review and decide on my dispute. I have attached a spreadsheet with the details and dollar amounts, a detailed letter from me and three letters from guests at the wedding. These three guests were close friends who were aware of all my wedding plans with details, so they are very aware when they saw what was provided vs. what was ordered! I have spoken to other guests since the wedding and when I told them about my dispute, they began to tell me what they noticed had gone wrong. I have additional testimonials (negative) which makes me so unhappy for my daughter. I am so angry that individuals still have to fight big corporations for fairness. Please help me to show Bob, Mike and Casey that we count too! read more

How can this "bank" exist with so many bad reviews? Well here's another. My credit score is/was over 800 when I took out a credit card at Pottery Barn (only my third credit card) the charge of $59 came through when I left for France. When I came home it was (snail mail) two months late with extra charges - I called, paid it, moved on. I checked my credit rating recently and it had dropped from 800+ to 735 - with the only ding being that late charge. I have written Pottery Barn, Experian, I have talked to the manager at Pottery Barn. Basically they all say it is out of their hands. Well so is their card - I have canceled that - and I won't shop at Pottery Barn again. BTW I have no outstanding credit card bills - none! Too bad I was going to buy that Apothecary table! read more

Awful! I applied for an Ulta card and a Sephora card within 2 days of each other. Apparently the cards were intercepted by a thief while in transit bc Comenity called to tell me they suspected fraudulent transactions on the cards. I said yes bc I have not received either card. Comenity canceled the cards and reissued two replacement cards that day. I received the new Sephora card and called to activate it. Everything was fine. I later received the new Ulta card and called to activate it. The bank told me they had closed BOTH cards! They said our FRAUD department pulled your credit a SECOND time and noticed you have too many Inquiries on your report so we closed both cards. Wait WHAT?! Why did they approve my applications in the first place? Why did they pull my credit report a second time in less than 30 days? Third, the story about excessive inquiries was untrue so why're are you lying. What kind of bank approves a customer, upgrades the customer from the private label cards to MasterCard and VISA, then closes the accounts for no justifiable reason. When trying to resolve this matter, I spoke with a very rude and defensive supervisor in the Fraud department who kept speaking over me. I said this sounds like you all are holding me responsible for the two stolen cards I never received. I said I didn't conduct those transactions. Perhaps the cards were stolen from my mailbox. I don't know what happened to them but I never received them. I filed a police report as soon as Comenity Bank told me there were fraudulent transactions on the first cards. I notified all 3 credit reporting agencies and placed Fraud Alerts on my credit reports. She said our decision to close the cards has nothing to do with the fraud on the cards you never received. She said you're a credit risk. How is someone in the Fraud department now making an underwriting decision? Credit risk is an underwriting decision and the underwriting department had already assessed my credit worthiness and approved me for both cards at this point. Furthermore, I have good credit which is why they upgraded both my applications from the private label cards to MasterCard and VISA. Stay away from these people bc they're disrespectful, incompetent, unprofessional, and they have absolutely no regard for customer service. Thank you Comenity for accusing me of being a thief and lying about it by saying you rescinded your offer bc I had too many Inquiries on my credit report. That's hogwash. You people stink like hogs! read more

I accidentally applied a credit card when I purchased some clothes in one limited store 10/2016. And that was the only purchase I made. Somehow when I tried to access my online account, I was told I should pay in store. Then I found the stored was closed. I didn't take it seriously, because usually credit card from the store is easy to take off those late fees. That is my bad. Recently they began to call me many time during the day, which is totally harassment, to ask me to make the payment. The total charge of late fee and financial charge is more than $90 within 3 months! And they just can't explain clearly how those charges was applied to the account. And the statement they said they mailed to me 20 days ago, I didn't receive anything. Today, I called again twice and tried to know how those charges happened if they want me to pay. Finally this online assistant provide some actual help, I can see my account now. Terrible! I just found there are so many bad reviews about this Comenity bank! !! Terrible! read more

My husband and I had a Commenity Bank Total Rewards Visa. On December 17, 2019, I called a specialty restaurant in Annapolis, MD and had crabcakes mailed overnight to our home in Colorado. On December 27th, I received a text alert that my credit card info had been used in Annapolis MD for a restaurant I had never even heard of. I called Commenity's fraud department and spoke to a 'Gary'. Gary informed me that there had been an additional charge for another restaurant (a pizza delivery) in Annapolis MD. I told Gary to cancel my card effective immediately and send me a new one. On January 7th 2020, I received a text alert that my credit card had been used again. I called Commenity's fraud department again and found that my card had been used for numerous food deliveries in Annapolis, MD. My card had not been cancelled. Instead, the fraud department cancelled my husband's card. His card information had not been stolen - mine had! My husband and I both told the fraud department to just cancel our cards altogether - that we no longer wanted them. As of today, January 20th, charges have still been made to my card - amounting to over $500! All I am told is that the fraud department is investigating the matter and it will be finalized by April. Do not get Commenity's credit card. Total and complete incompetence! read more

OMG! So not the end. When canceling my card on March 27th, apparently "Manager" Rodney "forgot" to cancel the $149.00 fee. I'm incredulous! I found this out because 2 weeks after canceling the card that I've still never received, I got a reminder to pay my annual FEE of $149.00! So once again I got on the phone, and who should answer, but yet another of their kind, lovely customer service representatives. They're just so darned nice, so 5 stars for them! She took all of my information, and said she was canceling the fee, and that it should have been canceled when I canceled my card, but it must've "slipped" manager Rodney's mind. She was really into benefit of the doubt, which I'm normally a big fan of, but not this time. That manager with his "no questions asked" talk, most likely didn't forget to do it, but I'm just hoping this really is THE END of the worst experience with a bank that I've ever had. -The End?- read more

As a result the amount was adjusted to $28.43. The logic of this escapes me. I denied the charges with a call and letter to Christopher Banks. I opened up a credit card with this company through Victoria's Secret which was such a bad idea. The fee's to pay for this card over the phone was $20 even if you're making a $50 payment. I had $20 left to pay and I slacked off for a few months and next thing you know my balance was $275.35, due to the fact that I slacked I thought the fees are reasonable and I paid it off by going to the store to pay it in order to avoid the $20 fee over the phone. This company had woken me up multiple times in the morning which is pretty inconvenient for me because I get off work at 2 AM and don't get home until 3 or 330am. Around 1030am comenity bank calls me and woke to demand that I pay or a balance that I had already paid off and due to the fact that I had trusted Comenity Bank I was very careless with the receipt so I went into Victoria's Secret to get a reprint of the receipt and the employee there said that they don't do reprint so I went home and called customer service and they said that i should be able to So I went into the store again and demanded that they give me my receipt. the employee said that the wi-Fi was down and that I needed to come back again so I went back next morning and got a receipt. After getting the receipt I called Comenity bank and gave them all the information on the receipt down to the till number. just when you think that it's all over, again, I was wrong. I kept getting calls from their representative harassing me to make my payment and they told me if I made it than I need a fax the receipt so I did and still issue had not come to an end. They said that they would call me if they had any further question but they still had collections called me demanding that I make payments that I had already made in December 4, 2015. It is now February 25, 2016 and my issue is still not resolved they said that my card was charged off and is now close so I would need to make my payment to avoid get sent to a third party. At the end I ended up talking to one of their representatives who ask me,why didn't I just dispute it? and I told him I did and he said nope there is no dispute on my account. Now I have to write a letter to them and mail it off to dispute it. just so that it gets to their p.o. Box asap I even paid $23 for the express fee just so the problem can be resolved in a timely matter. At this point it's my issue is still inconclusive. So I will be filing a small claims for harassment and inconvenience. read more

These people are loan sharks. I went to Modern Dentistry, in Aurora, CO with a chipped tooth from grinding my teeth at night, I just wanted a cap to smile again without being self conscious. They told me that they couldn't cap my tooth, they would have to pull every tooth out of my mouth and replace them with implants. Birds of a feather flock together. Modern Dentistry fitted me with a mouth piece that I could have picked up for $19.99 at Walgreens. That said they billed me $500-$600 I left w my chipped tooth and a shitty mouthpiece. Their partner Comenity Bank, I was making a $60 payment every month for 4 months and then I received a bill that was right back to square one as they added on a penalty as apparently in small print you have to pay by a certain date, unbel or explained to me, an exhorbitant penalty. After several months of duress they threatened me, my balance more than the bill for the shitty service I received at Modern Dentistry on South Havana St. in Aurora, CO. I relented and offered to pay the balance in 2 payments. Was told that was not an option. So my balance being zero, I receive a nastily worded letter saying they were lowering my credit w them to $300 lol they have balls. Hey Comenity Jerks, lower it to zero, I will never use anything with your name on it again lol nor will anyone I ever meet again. Modern Dentistry will get the same review. VERY DISLOYAL INDEED!! I had applied for a credit card with Express. The card was operated through Comenity Bank. I closed the card down. Months later I received a call stating that the card apparently had a balance and they have been sending me letters. I ASKED FOR THE BALANCE WHEN CLOSING THE CARD. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO BALANCE. Now months later I receive a collection phone call about a balance of $36 that turned into $211 with late fees. Apparently they have been "trying" for MONTHS to get the repayment. Yet no MAIL or PHONE calls to me. I argued with them, and then finally paid it off. A few months later I get ANOTHER CALL for another balance for the same express credit card through Comenity Bank. Are you kidding?? This time they told me that there were some late charges that were never paid. I argued for a while and PAID THEM ONE MORE TIME FOR THE SAME "BILL" and this time demanded a letter from them saying that the account has been closed, and wanted this to be completely over with. They promised to send it, but I never received it. When I asked for an email, they said they do not send emails and verified my address to ensure I will receive it. Now, in 2015, apparently they did a charge off in June of this year saying that the business had to take a loss. Come to find out, when I ran my credit report, in 2013 they did a charge off and one more in 2014. Also, they are keeping this open til 2021. How is this even legal? Being reprimanded for an account I closed, paying for the late fees for an account I never knew existed, and after all that, having ELEVEN COLLECTION AND ONE CHARGE OFF on my credit report from them. I used to have REALLY great credit. In my credit report I had 12 collections listed. 11 was from Comenity bank. One of them was my fault. I had student loans and I didn't keep up with it when the lender changed. But everything else is FLAWLESS. Now I feel like their hostage. They have 11 collections noted and a charge off they renew EVERY YEAR. HOW IS THIS LEGAL, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY TOOK MY MONEY TWICE!! There is no way this business should stay in business. They will not even provide me with a letter that states that account is no longer active. I started a business last year and my credit card application got rejected, my refinancing for my home got rejected. And because of Comenity bank's charge offs and collections. Who would throw their life away for $36?? At this point I have paid this bank $422 (for the original $36) and they are renewing a charge off on a yearly basis that stops me from running a business. Is this so they can show their business in deficit to the IRS? Someone should reach out to express/victoria secret and any other shops you provide services for and let them know how you are causing them business. I have been turned off from both retailers as I thought choosing a fraudulent bank was a poor reflection of their decisions as a business. What happened to ethics in business Comenity Bank? What do you plan to do to rectify this situation. read more

I had the misfortune of having my credit card account acquired by Comenity. Certainly, nobody in their right mind should never voluntarily open an account with them. Problems with them range from the irritating to what I would consider fraudulent business practices on their part. One only need look at other reviews to see the host of complaints. On the irritating side, they don't even have an app, so you have to log on to a webpage every time you want to do anything. What a waste of time and inconvenience! On the more serious side, I just spent nearly half a year fighting with them over a charge that I disputed back in May (2020). I made a purchase, had the merchant cancel, but then refuse to issue anything other than a credit. I disputed to the highest level with the merchant to no avail and, to my dismay, found the bank uninterested in pursuing this at all or taking my dispute seriously. So much for the online purchase protection that we supposedly have when making purchases with a credit card. All of my appeals to Comenity and the documentation I provided appear to have gone into the circular file. Their only response was to repeatedly tell me to contact the merchant. I tried to convince them that we should be on the same side, and should both be fighting the unethical business practices of the merchant, but it's clear that they have no interest in protecting the interests of their clients or their own business reputation. read more

I recently faced a challenging situation with Comenity Bank that has left me in a dire position, and I feel compelled to share my experience. I have been a customer of Comenity Bank, holding a DELL PAY credit card that unfortunately switched to Comenity Bank from Dell Financial Services. Unfortunately, after a dispute with their customer care representatives, my account was flagged for fraud when I was trying to request a letter from them that my mortgage company was requesting. Despite providing them with my driver's license, social security card, and W2, all with my current address, Comenity Bank permanently closed my account, citing an inability to validate my identity. The timing of this closure couldn't be worse, as it jeopardizes the closing of my mortgage, putting my home purchase at risk. I have invested significant time and financial resources into the closing process, and the consequences of this account closure are severe. What adds to the frustration is the lack of responsiveness and assistance from Comenity Bank during this critical period. The urgency of my situation is not being adequately acknowledged, and I am left in a state of distress. I sincerely hope that others can learn from my experience. If you're considering Comenity Bank for your financial needs, I would caution you to be aware of the potential challenges you may face, particularly in times of dispute or urgency. read more

Please be advised that these reviews are accurate. I have had my Victoria Secret card through Comenity Bank for several years. My card remained active when my credit score was at it's lowest and my credit card debt, with other creditors, was at it's highest. However, I remained in good standing with my Victoria Secret card. Now that my overall credit card debt has decreased drastically and my score has increased drastically I was notified, through CreditKarma, that my account with Comenity Bank was closed. I initially contacted Victoria Secret and was told that my account was closed due to findings with my credit report. Please keep in mind that in return this made my credit score drop 33 points! I contacted the credit bureau, with whom they reported me to, and was told that there was no findings on their end as to why Comenity Bank should have closed my account so I was asked if I wanted to file a dispute. In which I did so. I contacted Comenity Bank who only stated that they did so due to what was reported to them by the bureau. Huh?? I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and for anyone else who has suffered at their hands lease do so as well. You do so online and it is an easy and quick process. I will be taking further action if this is not resolved. read more

I applied for this credit card on the Wayfair website. Made payments on time, each month. Then in September they announced that they closed my account, because Wayfair doesn't work with them anymore. Good for Wayfair! Then in September I had financial difficulties because of this stupid pandemic time, and instead of making payment on 10th and made payment on 15th but I paid off my balance completely, it was $ 0. When they sent me a bill for $33 late fee, I called them I asked to remove that fee, because I made my previous payments on time, and I paid off my balance. I asked them why you charge fees on the account that currently has 0 and it's closed??! And I simply wasn't able to pay it on time I had financial difficulties. They didn't agree with that, I was super angry because in any other bank they would agree that it's the case there to remove late fee is appropriate but they didn't. I wasn't able to made that payment unfortunately. In December they sent me $68, so they added one more late fee. But thanks God I was table to pay it in December! I hope they will choke with these money. It's an evil company. And btw their automatic payment systems needs many improvements. Long waiting time on hold is another problem. read more

My response to their computer generated (no response) email. I am not satisfied at all!! I called Customer Service because I was trying to make a payment on my account on the day it was due and because it was 8:15 p.m. I was advised by your very rude overseas call center that I would be charged a $25.00 late fee. I then spoke to someone in the United States who again would not budge regarding this issue. This is highly offensive and perhaps a violation of the Fair Credit Act (I will investigate further). I find it distressing that although I paid well over the amount due on the due date (by a customer who has consistently paid well over the minimum due on my account each month) that Comenity would be so rigid and anti-customer service that they would insist on this policy, again from a customer who has always kept their account in good standing. I will pay the remaining balance due minus the $25.00 dollar fee you insist on charging and again will investigate this issue regarding the Fair Credit Act and will note a review on the major websites regarding your lack of customer service. read more

I have a few store cards that I have had for years, Jared, Talbots, and Coldwater Creek are the ones that Comenity has taken over from other banks. I got caught like many when this pandemic hit. I was waiting for a check to arrive from March 11 and couldn't get a hold of the company that it was due from as they were in CA and I am in FL. Come to find out they had been closed due to the Coronavirus. I explained this to Comenity and was told not to worry about it and they would give me a 2 month extension to pay. I finally got my check in July, I paid all of their accounts up to date and now I am being told that my Talbots card is being closed due to a low credit score!!! They knew what the issue was and still closed my account that didn't even have a balance on it as I haven't used the card since back in Dec. This is stupid and can't wait to pay off my others with this bank to never use them again. The kicker is I had others with them but the companies have gone out of business! If this is how they treat their business' as well I can see why they are no longer in business. read more

This company is in violation of the TCPA. They need to STOP CALLING. Comenity Bank has faced several allegations of violating TCPA. Here are some examples of TCPA violations: Calling at odd hours and contacting consumers late at night and early in the morning. Calling the consumer at their workplace and leaving a message about the debt with the person who answers the call. Calling and not identifying themselves or their purpose. Not identifying the entity to whom debt is owed. Calling and talking about the debt without first verifying if the consumer owes it or not. Not honoring a consumer's wishes to not call them; not honoring the Do-Not-Call-Registry. Threatening consumers with lawsuits that are not applicable to their case. Threatening and intimidating consumers with legal action where none is intended. Leaving messages containing details of the debt with people other than the consumer. This could include their relatives, co-workers, friends, and/or neighbors. Making details of the debt public and causing undue embarrassment to the consumer who owes the debt read more

BEWARE if you are thinking about using Comenity! DON"T DO IT! I pay my bills ahead of schedule every month. Yesterday, I received several calls saying my payment was late. I went on line to check out was going on and it clearly showed on my payment schedule that my next payment was due on April 4. Today is March 21! On top of that, they had charged me $90 in late fees!!! They have charged me these late fees for the past several months! No one ever answers the phone at customer service and they just recently allowed you to use a debit or credit card to pay your bill! If you need help and want to speak with an actual person, plan on taking the day off and committing to just trying to speak with someone. When I finally reached a person today, she said that the reason I was charged a late fee was because I paid ahead of my due date and they don't apply it! WHAT??? They will not refund the late fees! I am contacting the Attorney General and have filed a complaint with the BBB. read more

This institution,(very mental, unstable company!!!!) Literally insane! Doing the same thing over & over expecting different results in finance! Really disscuting that on average call about 7 times a day, starting at am and continuing all day long. on your day off every 2 hrs. Then they try scam calls. Using different numbers saying there someone else? And I can see it's the same number. Trying to check out our intelligence? All in reality, I'm all about helping others out that need a better life. They DO NOT about nothing about customer service in my! Experience. In our broken world today, we don't need this petty nonsense especially if your bill isn't due for another month! So I made a decision and will go to the store and pay my own bill and continue to block all there numbers from around the . And Report spam and harassment. No offense but the illegals are being Illegal. Have a positive day. read more

I had a terrible experience with Comenity Bank, and I would not recommend them to anyone. Their practices feel completely misleading and borderline fraudulent. I noticed unauthorized charges on my account, and when I contacted customer service, they were unhelpful and dismissive. Instead of resolving the issue, they kept transferring me between departments with no clear answers. It felt like they were intentionally avoiding taking responsibility. Their billing system is confusing, and fees seem to appear out of nowhere. Even after making payments on time, I was hit with unexpected charges that were never properly explained. What's most frustrating is the lack of transparency and accountability. A bank should provide security and trust, but my experience with Comenity has been the opposite. I strongly advise others to think twice before opening an account with them. read more

This bank appears to be unfairly charging customers. My wife opened a credit card through Sephora and made a purchase of about $65. We never received any billing statement. Later, the bank added a $40 late fee. I contacted customer service, and they agreed to waive $25 of the fee. I then paid the original balance plus the remaining $25 late fee. This issue occurred in November, and we believed it was resolved. However, in March, we received another call from customer service demanding around $200. They claimed that the original payment was one day late and continued adding additional late fees. Now, the customer service representatives are threatening legal action, which feels unreasonable given the situation. We made a good-faith effort to resolve the issue and paid what we were told was owed. This situation feels unfair and needs to be reviewed. read more

If I could give this company a negative amount of stars -0, I would. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I submitted a payment to them on the 12th of the month. They did not try to process the payment until approximately the 26th of the month and by that time, I thought they had already taken their money and have been paid. By the time I found out that they didn't receive the funds, I was marked late on my credit report and so I made another payment that they also didn't process in a timely manner and this time my credit report reflected that I was 60 days late ruining my credit report and my credit score. This has happened so many times that I am paying this account off next week and I will NEVER do business with Comenity Bank ever again!! read more

I got a lane Bryant credit card for my girlfriend. She bought bras from there all the time so I thought it was a good idea to save some money, boy was I wrong! I paid off my balance in December, then I was charged a $2 "finance charge" after paying off the card. Think my balance was 0, I didn't bother looking at statements until May. In May the balance was over $200 from late fees on the $2 finance charge. I paid all but one late fee and closed my account then ANOTHER $2 finance charge showed up a week after I paid off the account THE SECOND TIME. I called customer service and was transferred to the wrong people then transferred to a "manager" who didn't answer my questions and hung up on me. This company is the absolute worst! 100% a scam! read more

I am writing to express significant concern regarding recent charges applied to my account with Kay Jewelers and Comenity Bank. Specifically, I was recently subjected to unexpected interest charges. Upon switching to paperless billing, I was not notified that interest would subsequently be applied to the balance throughout the year. As a result, a full year's worth of interest was added to my statement. I am very dissatisfied with this process and the lack of clear communication regarding the financial implications of opting for paperless billing. I request an immediate review of these charges and clarification on how this interest was calculated and applied without prior notification. read more

They are scam!!! Do not trust these people. They reallyyy be on some Bullshit. Oh btw they have a 100% interest rate. If you have perfect payment history they will drag you through it! Be careful the experience I've had is non other. I've asked to speak with supervisor . No help from customer service or support. I just keep getting told there's nothing they can do. It is what it is. No documentation that this would be 100% interest no thing no communication I don't mind paying off the rest of my loan. Ammount. But do not tax me where it's impossible to get out of! They have terrible policy and live to drown people. Even those trying to do the right things read more

What a terrible credit card company! This place and GE Money Bank are the worst loan sharking credit card issuers out there. DO NOT GET A CREDIT CARD FROM THEM. They issue mostly store credit cards for places like Victoria's Secret, and issue a handful of co branded cards that are impossible to obtain unless you have a 750+ credit score. They will nickel and dime you in fees, move around your billing cycles, and do whatever it takes to show you that you are nothing but a number to them. I called to close my account and they said why? I said they are the worst credit card I have, they said fine its closed. Not even a thank you for your business. Ack! read more

Comenity Bank/Wayfair is the worst credit card servicer on this planet. They regularly take over an hour to answer the phone and their website regularly requires a password change, that once completed, is not recognized. TWO attempts locks you out, and then you have to call a number nobody answers. Due to these issues and their sporadic reporting to the Credit reporting agencies, we needed an update to complete a disabled Veteran's refinance. It took 5 calls over 3 days to finally request a "Balance Letter" that is required to update their credit report. A day later the fax arrived showing the balance on the card as $XX.XX. WTF! read more

Do not trust this bank. Their products are designed in misleading ways -- burying important terms in fine print and creating blind spots through a lack of communication. Search them in consumer venues like CFPB or BBB and you'll see the same pattern of complaints. Customers are hit with thousands in surprise charges that are technically 'legal' only because they hide behind the fine print -- a classic trap. They operate under different names, such as Alphaeon Credit for medical expenses. If the product you're considering is linked to them, avoid it at all costs. read more
