Never sign a contract for credit with Comenity Bank, here's a good reason: I made a healthiplan purchase of $3500 with 18 month interest-free credit, made monthly payments to avoid paying interest - I received a paper bill each month with due date of 27th, and had payments set up with online banking and auto-pay to be paid on 15th of each month Again, paid early to avoid interest - Oddly enough, the paper bill for the 18th and last payment arrived in the mail as usual, but the "pay by" date had been changed from 27th to the 18th, with a warning in red type to pay by 18th to avoid paying accrued interest, which would be several hundred dollars on $3500 - I had to scramble to get the final payment made by auto-pay on 15th to the new due date of 18th - This is a dishonest way to collect the interest on a 'interest-free' purchase, in addition, late fees charges are $39, and then the interest charges kick in- Banks are thieves ! read more

I never received new cards (common complaint I've noticed in other reviews) and when I tried to call and get the cards was told it would take 7-10 business days! I can't log into my account since apparently I need my new card number to set that up. I was told they can't give that information over the phone which I'm sure was a lie. I asked to cancel my card. Got put on hold for a long time then he comes back and says I'm all set. I asked for written confirmation which he said would be emailed. I have yet to receive that. I have a $0.00 balance and am concerned they're going to try and charge me some kind of fee with interest. How is this company allowed to stay in business. read more

This company handles the retail credit card for Pottery Barn and is immensely frustrating to deal with. I've been a cardholder for over 10 years and today I completely lost it because I have a large "rewards" for over $2000. I applied it to an order, however the items are not being shipped until a week after my statement closing date so they said just go ahead and pay it and then you will have a credit balance?! Um, why should I be giving my cash to you so you can collect interest on it and wait for a refund when it should be deducted immediately when I make the purchase. Currently at 5 phone calls with all different customer service agents who can't help me and just keep transferring me to "someone" who knows how to do this and "can" help me. Worst experience ever. If possible, I would have given them minus stars. I had a AAA credit card thru Bank of America and never had any issue. Last month AAA start using Comenity bank and my nightmare started. first call yesterday, I hanged up after 15 minutes of wait. Second call today, waited for 40 minutes (I took a screen shot of my phone which shoes 51 minutes and 46 seconds for one simple call). Time went by and I made another purchase in the $25.00 range. I took the time to update all of my contact information and thought, "Ah! That explains why I never received my bill before!" For several years I was receiving paper statements from Comenity for my Woman Within account. I always pay with a money order because I don't have a bank account. Last month I received an email saying "thank you for going paperless", I never asked to go paperless EVER! I called right away and the guy even wrote on my WW account about wanting paper. Comenity Bank is the credit issuing company behind several online clothing retailers such as WomanWithin, Roaman's, Jessica London and more, and just now while trying to find their address I discovered that apparently they issue a Mastercard -I didn't know that- In any case, they have the crappiest CS in the world! Unless you have an active account. I had gotten into a financial crisis, turned to a debt relief program (which I reviewed) and Comenity dba WomanWithin and Roaman's was the first creditor I paid off, and they sent me a nice letter, basically saying thanks for paying us, you can have another account when you're ready. Liars They kept sending me "Come Back" catalogs and when I finally felt financially secure enough, I tried to buy something.. only to find that my account has been frozen and none of the 800# reps had the authority to reinstate me; so I wrote a letter to Comenity detailing the issue.. eventually I got a return letter saying oh that's too bad, call this number and they can help. Long story short, no matter WHAT number I called, nobody had the authority to reinstate me and despite writing to Comenity several times, they kept giving me the same numbers to call. So enough is enough. Yes they give credit very easily but if you experience any kind of problems.. no personalized assistance. Last week, attempted to make a payment online - got an error message about the system being down. I attempt to call and after navigating through the system, got a long winded message about the system being "down" and it says "call back at a later time" and drops the call. So because I want to be sure that my bill is paid ontime, I head to the store to pay my express bill. (There were a few others who were doing the same so that we did not incur late fees or unecessary interest) I check online to see if the system had been updated a few days later, still could not log in. Finally today, 1 week later, I was able to log in BUT it ONLY shows the payment I had made 2 weeks prior AND they also charged interest. I saw online that they would waive late fees, but they also need to waive any interest that accrued on those accounts. Why should they make any money off of their own system issues?? Why would consumers have to pay for that? Are they updating their systems because they were bought by Bread FInancial. You would think that this would be high priority for them to fix - according to the store cashier LAST week, this has been going on "for at least weeek" . Get it together. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH COMENITY. I don't really leave reviews unless I feel like it's something people should significantly know before doing business with the place. Due to the COVID-19 situation, I've been struggling to be financially current with my creditors, including several other major establishments, and also Comenity. After talking to the banks, they were able to waive late fees (some on more than one occasion) when I told them that I am gladly willing to pay once I can come up with the money, but it'd just be late. They understood. But Comenity? They weren't willing to waive a $29.00 late fee even when I showed intention to pay. They won't even really respond to their messages in the Secure Message center through their website. You have to call and even when you call, you feel like you're talking to a Telemarketer who just wants to get you on a deferred interest program to make money off you in the long run. Don't waste your time or invest with them. I'd give them -5 stars if I could. We need any assistance we can get during this pandemic and even with a good payment history, I can't be given a little pass. SAD. Can't wait to be done with them. I plan to pay off my card off soon, so if I get any more charges after I'm done or they give me problems, they better expect to hear from my attorney(s). After being approved for the PlayStation Visa credit card, they sent me temporary payment information to use in the PlayStation store to go ahead and complete my purchase. The security code included with the card information was 2 digits. When I tried to purchase my PlayStation on the PlayStation store today, my purchase would not go through because a 3 digit security code was required. After a whole morning of 5 or so phone calls, starting with PlayStation support and ending with Comenity support, a woman cheerfully (albeit unconcerned) told me "Oh. If the temporary card information does not work you will just need to wait until the physical card comes in." She didn't seem like it was any big deal or mess up and said there was nothing to be done on their end, but I should have a wonderful day! For me however, that means I now have to wait 10-14 business days to make a purchase that will ship in 4-5 days. That means the PlayStation that should be here this week will now likely be close to 3 weeks out. I already wish I did not apply for this card with this bank. read more

If I could give Comenity Bank a negative 0 I would. I made a payment & they charged me for that payment 2Xs. They also only posted 1 of the payments to my account, but not the 2nd one. I never authorized a 2nd payment; why would I, when I had already paid my original payment on time. So, since their crappy website is STILL down & not working, I have called their customer care service several times, and nobody ever answers. All I get is same robot message saying, "we're sorry, all our representatives are still busy; please hold & someone will be with you; your call will be answered in the order in which it was received." Literally verbatim. Once a customer rep finally took my call, & after I explained the whole situation, she checked w/her supervisors who told her, that I needed to submit proof to help my dispute investigation. Really? They will continue to drain, and finance charges your account without notifying you. They said they've sent me emails to tell me about my charges. I've checked my email and even phone calls every day and have not seen anything regarding late/finance charges. I've made a payment scheduled for that month, and they said since its new, they put a hundred dollars finance charge on my card. I called them to ask them to take it off since I've already made the payment, and they withdrew my money again a few days later. They will not try to dispute anything against the finance charge, except defer the amount, but I'll continue to get the finance charge for how many days/months my payment is deferred in addition to my remaining balance. They do not have a payment leniency policy if the customer pays a couple of days after unlike other big credit card companies. Which will allow late waived of late fees within 14-30 days after the payment is due. Because, why would they? They want your money! And its FREE money from yours to them, so why would they take it off those extra advantages? Make sure you be extra careful when applying with this bank company. Keep EXTRA care. I wouldn't recommend open any credit lines with them--lousy company's policy and customer service level. The executive administration should be change. read more

I am writing this review to resonate with everyone else terrible experience and to express my extreme disappointment and concern regarding the services I have received from Comenity Bank over the past few months. At first I thought its probably just my case and there might have been some miss understanding but after some additional investigation I found out that Comenity bank has been doing this to everyone and I am surprised to see no one has taken legal action against them yet. Reading all these different stories it seems like the same exact scam and chain of events and get you locked into these fraudulent loans that you don't even need it and find out a few years later that you have already paid triple of your "loan" amount but you still have substantial. They exactly know what they are selling to customer and don't disclose all the stipulation that comes with these "loan"/"payment plan" programs. This is extremely unethical practice and they have an army of terrible people to make sure to ruin your credit score if you don't pay back or try to dispute. Extermly unpleasant experience with anyone I talked to on Comenity side and it seems like they have this model in place because they know they are running a scam. I have experienced the worst possible of customer service while working with them to understand the different unknown charges made on my account. On multiple occasions, I have encountered unhelpful and indifferent responses from your customer service representatives when trying to resolve various issues. The lack of empathy and timely resolution has left me frustrated and questioning the commitment of Comenity Bank to customer satisfaction. My primary concern, however, revolves around what appears to be fraudulent charges on my account. Despite bringing these fraudulent bank "fees" & "interest" to their attention, the process of investigating and rectifying these issues has been excruciatingly slow and inefficient. The delay in resolving such a critical matter has not only affected my trust in the bank but has also caused significant financial distress. Furthermore, the lack of transparency in communication regarding the status of my case and the steps being taken to address the fraudulent charges has added to my frustration.
