Unfortunately Comenity purchased the Playstation card from Capital One & now I have to deal with them. First day the card was activated I used it to pay postage which went through then afterwards it got declined for the rest of the day. Customer service is a joke. If you use the "secure message center" they just copy/paste generic responses, not actually answering any of your questions. Calling the actual support results in you dealing with hostile people that are slightly less incompetent. It took a week to figure out that the reason that the cash advance limit on my Playstation card was messed up after the transfer was because of the card agreement terms which "might" change in 2020. Customer service just kept "making notes" on my account & had no idea who to transfer issues to whether it be card agreement issues or a simple complaint. At the end of my last call I got a hold of a supervisor who had a major attitude then proceeded to stonewall me by lying & saying "no" to everything. After I called her out, telling her that it's a lie to say "there is no one else" when THERE'S A TEAM OF PEOPLE THAT MADE THIS DEAL WITH CAPITAL ONE & THEREFORE FINALIZED THE CARD AGREEMENT, she become quiet then suddenly became nicer. Comenity has some kind of scam going on. I placed an order with Brylane Home, and as soon as I received the bill I tried to log on to pay online. Repeated efforts failed due to their supposed "technical difficulties". I had to order paper checks to pay by mail, so of course I missed the due date. The next month, I got a bill from Brylane Home with a late fee of $45. Needless to say, I refused to pay for their "technical difficulties". They have done nothing but harass me ever since with endless phone calls and monthly bills racking up $45 a month. They suggested I write to them to dispute which I did. My Barclay Bank card was bought out by Comenity. I have had HUGE problems with the allocation of payments on Promo offers. They do not pay off the zero percent plans when due & charge interest when the payment has been made. What kind of bank requires you to call in & fight for your payments to be properly applied. So all of my payments with the exception of one was on time because fraud on my debit card disrupted automatic payments. They reached out and I paid over the phone but then put a late payment on credit report. I called to negotiate or see if they could get that taken off my report because the other 99% of my payments were on time. They said "NO its against company policy"... I would not trust comenity bank at all! they will loan you money but what they keep hidden is that your payments don't go towards your balance... essentially your payments are going in their pocket. when your term runs out you will still be left with just enough of the loan amount for them to claim it's not 100% or the original borrowed amount. in other words pay them off immediately or youll end up paying double in the end like I did. read more

They added to the letter to call Experian with an 800 number to check their credit, They were directed to another company that stated the represented the three credit agencies and offer fraud insurance. The said that the credit agencies do not provider fraud protection which is not true. This is the worst card I have ever had. They will destroy your credit rating or at least try. I signed up for auto payment's and they sent me a bill telling me that I was late and charged me a $40 late fee. This has happened more than once, each time I talked to a rep., and each time I was told that they would remove the charge, but they never did. I have a good credit rating, so rather than go through this every month I paid off my account in full. After paying off my account the rep. told me that I was canceled months ago but gave me no reason. I have never had this problem with any other bank. This bank issued me a credit card and I've had it for YEARS (Actually Comenity took over the bank side of it from other bank cards). I am very responsible and have A+++ credit. I shopped at a local retailer, and apparently their chip reader was malfunctioning, causing me to be declined on ALL of my cards, credit and debit. Another well-known bank card texted me and verified it was me that was using the card, which I acknowledged, so they turned my card back on via TEXT. My bank for debit card informed me of the faulty chip reader and quickly turned my card back on from fraud alert. THIS bank, however, requires WAY too much documentation in order to turn my card back on. They wanted me to fax them my driver's license and social security. What a bunch of bull. No matter what I explained about the store's faulty chip reader, they did not care. They did not care when I said I would rather close my card than to jump through their hoops. The original has lawsuits against them and bad reviews and on Better Business Bureau I stopped counting at 31. I made an initial purchase with Wayfair in 2019 and ordered a bedroom set with a promotional rate of 0% if paid off in 18 months. I paid off the bedroom set in 12 months and made a new purchase which also offered as promotional rate; interest free for 12 months. Will never use Comenity Bank again. I have (had) a Mastercard with them and with few exceptions, I pay my balance every month. My purchases started being declined and I called to about it. They closed my card. I have not had a late payment in YEARS and am not buying their excuse that a credit reporting company reported something negative on my account. In October I did make an error when inputting my routing number for a payment. I was not late, was paying off my balance early. When I learned of the error I immediately made another payment for the full balance, still not late. So they close my account? Ridiculous! Take your business elsewhere! Comenity is the WORST. I had a J. Crew credit card. All was well until they switched to Comenity. A little while later, Comenity switched their policy so that they now charge you interest *every single day*. I had bought something at J. Crew, then paid off my balance in full, so I thought I didn't owe them anything. WRONG. I owed them a few cents of interest for the day that I'd made my last payment. They continued charging me interest on those few cents, followed by late fees, then interest on the late fees and late fees on the interest. Their new billing policy is designed to scam you, and I never agreed to it when I signed up for my card. The only way to resolve my issue with them was to pay off my balance and *close my account.* Which I am now very happy to have done. Moral of the story? They cancelled the capital on play station card before activating the new comenity bank play station card. Then then failed to mail me a new card - and they still cancelled my card before I activated a new card. Guess what, the card can't be used in Canada nor can it be paid from a Canadian bank account. - SO after I tried to pay the balance with Comenity Bank; they didn't tell me the payment didn't go through until MONTHS afterwards. It added up about $100 to the late fee. - When they were calling me, they made dozens of calls a day, from an UNKNOWN number. - Since I don't answer unknown calls, in their system they claimed that I REFUSED to pay and that I said no to them 7 times. WHAT?? The only time I answered the call was the time when they informed that I have $200 late fee. - Call customer service three times. First time the guy told me to pay at the VS store in my local mall. The staff at the mall said no because they're different companies (US & Canada). They have a promo that people can receive a sales tax credit (under certain conditions) immediately at checkout. Great PROMO! I bought a camera and a couple lenses for about $13,000. They approved and denied my card several times and there communication was very poor. And customer service non existent or erroneous at best. My only recourse according to B&H (because Comenita is difficult to contact) was to cancel all my orders!! What a joke. I closed my account in February and received a "service charge" fee. I called when I discovered this fee in May and paid the balance over the phone and told them to make sure the account was closed. I looked at my credit report and discovered that after the account was closed, they lowered by credit limit by more than $60,000, which negatively impacted my credit score. I called several times and finally spoke with a supervisor that said "it is unusual for this type of thing to happen, but it can." I asked them if they could please fix this and they said no. Not good at all. I have tried to call multiple times but keep getting a recording. I want to speak to a live person! the automated service cannot resolve my problem. I did not receive the card and was not able to use it but I have a $112 balance that they want me to pay, which is the late charge on a late charge. I finally wrote back to them on the billing statement that they sent so finally they closed the card, and they want me to pay the balance and they are going to update the credit bureaus, they are threatening me when I made every effort to call and communicate with them.
