4 stars for care, 0 for service, timeliness and pressuring I showed up at 9:22 for my 9:30 apt to fill out the new patient paperwork.  At 10:07 I asked if it's always this busy on a Saturday and was told they would be getting a room ready soon At 10:15 they took me back.  Dr. Talia Kroner apologized for being late, took in walk-ins (but what's the point of making an appointment if walk-ins take my spot?) and pushed for x-rays.  I said no thank you, I don't have time anymore.  But she was pushy and talked about how it would be "unethical" to work on me without doing x-rays.  I've never heard from any dentist before.  Seemed like a vague pressure tactic and I told her that she was coming off as forceful.  It felt so unnecessary and an upcharge.  As a fellow healthcare worker, I understand what it's like.  Your communication and education to your patient matter.  I've also worked for a large company where numbers matter and you're getting pushed to meet your "metrics".  I ended up deciding to go for it.  She seemed to be taking the stance of x-rays and dental cleaning or nothing at all.  Her care was fine, we chatted about other things.  But I will not be back. read more

I must admit when Dr. Amy Hazen said I needed a root canal I almost started crying. However, except for the novocaine I had absolutely NO PAIN during the procedure. Dr. Hazen and Dr. Oliver should not be performing implants. They have little to no experience in these procedures. I pre paid for my procedure and they screwed up. They promised to re do the work but abandoned my treatment plan with no refund. They sent a certified letter telling me to find another dentist. I will be seeing them in court. Patient beware! Very overpriced and they do not honor their prices. They always scam you for more! read more

Awesome place to get your wisdom teeth pulled, especially when paying out of pocket! Just be weary of the info they tell you about cavities and root canals. My husband was misquoted for his bridge by about $1000 (aside from his last visit when he wanted to pay out of pocket, they collected and ALSO billed our insurance), they told me I have 9 cavities with a cavity underneath my new crown, I went to my other dentist, the replaced the crown for free with a better fitting crown, but not cavity, and they triple checked, I have 3 cavities, not 9. Other than that incredibly nice staff, just misleading both me and my husband! read more

Dr Oliver may be nice, but DON'T go to her for wisdom teeth. I went to get my bottom left removed yesterday and had the worst experience of my life. I've had a root canal before, so I know I'm not a giant baby. It started when asked me if I was numb, and I said not completely. She started working anyway, insisting I'd just feel pressure. By the time I got her to stop the first time my face was covered with blood and tears, and I couldn't stop trembling. This went on for over an hour with her insisting it was "close" but the only progress she made was slamming her tools into my upper teeth and saying that it was too slippery. Her nurse kept leaving the suction tool at the same location in my mouth causing that to be extremely sore too. Then things got really bad. She pulled out her drill and tried to drill the tooth into two places. Which was also incredibly painful. Finally after about an hour and a half I was sobbing and trembling uncontrollably. She suggested we now get new X-rays to make sure the bone wasn't blocking it. Keep in mind this is after over an hour of brute force. I let them take them, they gag me and keep sticking the same X-ray mouth tool covered with blood and bits of my gum into my mouth. They didn't find bone, but she wanted me to come back and try again the next day. Hell. No. So now I get to experience all of the agony of having a wisdom tooth removed twice in two days because SHE COULDN'T DO HER JOB I scheduled a new appointment with a REAL dentist, and now they're being jerks about sending my X-rays. Oh and a cherry on top. Before I got my procedure started I heard the guy in the next room saying "okay, well I'm dissatisfied, but I'm still going to pay I guess". Seriously you guys, don't go here unless you are into s&m or something. read more

I've had approximately four or five scheduled appointments here. Literally every time I arrive for a scheduled appointment, the staff makes me wait in upwards of 40 minutes before I'm being worked on! I've witnessed people walk in and be helped long before I'm helped even when I've been waiting for 30 minutes. On two occasions, I was shown to a dental chair and made to wait 20 minutes before a dental professional even sat down to provide service to me. I should mention this was AFTER I waited in the waiting room for about 30 minutes! The staff always apologizes over and over again for the wait. Even the dentist will apologize to me directly. I asked one of the hygienists why the wait was so long. She said, "no one wants to work around here". That being said, they are very quick to take my payment for services. In fact on two separate occasions, they made me pay for services I hadn't even received yet at the time. I asked why I had to pay before I even received the dental service. The staff did not know the answer and said they're not sure why they do it that way. I find these unacceptable customer service practices to be disrespectful of my time, my business and my trust as a patient. There are hundreds of other dental offices in the area. Why should I return to this one for lousy service? My advice to the dentists is to clean house and find employees who are driven by excellence and customer service in their field. My sister is a hygienist in Los Angeles. None of this would fly in her office. P.S. As I write this review, I've been waiting in the waiting area for 30 minutes and I had a scheduled appointment! Just because there is a pandemic going on doesn't mean that you can neglect your gums. Unfortunately, it had been a number of years since I had been in the chair because my last insurance through the state I lived in previously didn't really cover many dental benefits. When moving here and checking things out, I settled on this location as they were near me, accepted my insurance, and was able to fit me in rather quickly. I knew going in what type of work I wanted or needed done, so I went in bracing myself for what was to come. Making an initial appointment was a breeze and I was able to be seen the very next day! After a short wait in the waiting room I was shown to the back and met with the assistant and doctor. After discussing what was going on and what my options were, she went to work. I thought that I was just going to get an exam and would have to return to get work done, but for what I needed to have done immediately was done on the same visit! I have a few follow up appointments to get some minor work and a cleaning done, but so far I am extremely pleased. My daughter's Dad went here too and said he has never felt more comfortable at a dentist. read more

I had an abscessed tooth called for an appointment. Got one for the next day. Arrived 45 minutes early, filled out the paperwork and was seen immediately. Dr and assistant were friendly and put me at ease. My comfort and pain levels were their first concern. Was over and done in very short order! Highly recommend this place! read more

Dr. Hazen is very professional and my experience here was great. She and her staff were very friendly and I waited maybe 5 minutes at most when I arrived for my appointments. I needed a cleaning and then a few small fillings. Everything was as quick and as painless as one can expect from minor dental procedures and I am extremely satisfied with the results. I was comfortable the entire time I was in the office and felt confident in the work being performed. Insurance and payment were processed quickly and without any issue. I won't go to any other dentist, except maybe Dr. Oliver at this same location! read more

My mom comes here from time to time and I've came here before when I was a kid but I don't remember much. But now that I have came here as an adult, I will not be returning. The receptionist was not helpful and barely there, people would come in to check in and she just wouldn't be there. I waited about 20 min in the waiting room after being taken back and having my x ray taken. The lady told me that my dentist should be with me anytime now....30 min later, still no dentist. The customer service here is absolutely horrible. Never coming back to this place! read more

I can see that there have been some bad reviews of this office but I must say, I had a great experience. I had a tooth that was causing me a lot of pain that needed to be removed. I went in today(a Saturday) 30 minutes before they were closing. I filled out my information and told them I was aware I probably wouldn't get in to see anyone today but that i wanted to go ahead and make sure to get any antibiotics started, if necessary. I waited maybe 15 to 20 minutes, which was fine considering they had an office full of people and they didn't even have to treat me with it being so close to closing time. They took me back, did my x-rays, numbed me, and had my tooth out within 40 minutes (AT THE MOST). It was fast and painless and the staff was more than friendly. When you are on Medicaid you never know what the quality of care will be but I had a fantastic experience. I am scheduled to have some fillings done next week. I also thought it was kind of cool that the receptionist had a full sleeve tattoo. It has nothing to do with the quality of service but I like to see a company that shows tolerance of tattoos in the workplace. She was friendly and did her job well. A+, Great Job, 5 stars, thumbs up, all the good stuff. Thanks Dr. Oliver and staff :) ** A tip~ It can be a little hard to spot because its in a crowded, busy area and its a smaller building. Its right next to a carwash on the same side as the Northbound lane of Broadway. You can enter the parking lot from the alley as well if you miss your turn. She is always very patient and communicative when it comes to talking about pain I am having as well as any other questions I have. They informed me that the people at this place performed unnecessary treatment and I would have been better off without their help. I saw Dr Hillary Oliver on 9/30/14. She was a fantastic dentist! REALLY great at juggling the other 2 patients that I heard ( clearly) her caring for while I sat with my mouth stretched wide open. The office staff is nice, but minimally trained. I had to go back the next day for a receipt & they appeared offended. Still... Dr. Oliver WAS a Good dentist so Worth the trip! read more

It isn't just this comfort dental, it is all of them. Do not let anyone you love go to comfort dental. They offer you cheap prices for the exam and the cleaning, tell you everything that is wrong with your mouth, give you an incredibly great deal so you think its worth it, and then a year later you realize that one of your cavity fillings had an overhang and should it have lasted any longer it would have caused gingivitis.. then you end up spending more than you spent in the first place trying to fix their mistakes. They are nice people, but sweet mercy, they are the joke of colorado dentistry. Don't fall for it. University Hills Modern Dentistry also offers low prices for the initial exam and cleaning, and helps you with your payment plans. They fixed comfort dental's mistakes beautifully, I will never go anywhere else. read more

Dr Nessel changes recommendations at each appointment. Dental tech is more interested in listening to conversations outside of room, rather than flossing or whatever she's supposed to be doing. Wasn't even acknowledged as I signed in six inches from the receptionist. Not the first, or second time this has happened. Will never go back! read more

A word of advice that I hope will help someone else: Don't go to anyone except your own specific dentist if you can help it. I know though that there are lots of good ones out there, and at a lot of offices, it is perfectly fine to see a different one, and you'll still receive great service. Not at this particular office that I went to though today: I saw a different dentist in the same office today because mine wasn't here and I had a sharp edge on a filling in the front top. They also replaced another filling that needed it. First the dental assistant sprayed water up my nose to the point I couldn't breathe, and was literally waving my arms and sitting up quickly. She also pried my very small mouth open with such a large piece of plastic, that my jaw was literally in pain. After that, she said "Oh wow, you're bleeding a lot." I replied "What in the world? Why am I bleeding so much?" She told me it's "normal." Then she and the dr pinched my lip hard on the left to the point that my left hand jerked upward uncontrollably. Next, she jammed a cotton roll nearly down my throat. Also, she jammed something into my gums which showed me that they didn't even give me enough anesthetic. Then when the dentist went to give me more, it felt like she was jamming the needle so hard that it was going to push through my entire cheek. And she gave me so much anesthesia the second time, that it caused heart palpitations and dizziness. No happy medium here! Zero empathy towards the patient. I'm normally a very easygoing, super-calm patient, and am not easily rattled, even after everything I went through with a previous and different dentist's office who took 25 tries and still never got my crown to stay in. This experience today ranks right up there with that. Today it took them 4 tries to get my filling in correctly, and they said it's in a "challenging place in my mouth." My usual dentist never has any trouble with anything having to do with my mouth, I'm so sorry to post a negative experience, because I really like to keep things positive, but I hope that this will somehow help someone else. I can't express how crazy this experience has been. My normal dentist is so much better, and really knows how to take care of her patients. She is amazing and deserves kudos!! If you go to Comfort Dental on South Colorado Blvd, I recommend that you see ONLY Dr. Oliver and her specific hygienists and assistants. SHE is the best dentist I've had so far anywhere! read more

Horrible service. Dr Bullen does not seem very competent. He did a root canal for me and I have been in 5 times now without having the permanent crown put on. The temporary crown has fallen off 3 times. They can't seem to get my bite right on the permanent crown and keep blaming it on the company that they contract with. Dr Bullen has not been apathetic towards me and this very time consuming process. Now I am having pain near the tooth that he did a root canal on and has no answers as to why. I will never go back to this office or dr Bullen again. read more

I have been reluctant to write this review because the people in this office are really nice. Unfortunately, my experience was a dental disaster. I originally went in for a recommended root canal because I had a cavity that was right next to the nerve and it was causing extreme nerve pain. 6 months later, I had been through treatment for periodontal disease, one filling, 3 crowns, two (yes, two) root canals, pain pills, antibiotics and steroids, and a mouth guard - all for one tooth. But I was still experiencing horrible pain -- like electric shocks running up my face. At my last visit, they admitted they couldn't figure out what was causing the pain and wanted to refer me to ANOTHER dentist. At that point I insisted they remove the tooth. The pain from the nerve was gone immediately. Unfortunately, I was still experiencing jaw pain. There was no way I was going back there so I scheduled an appointment with a different dentist. Turns out the mouth guard didn't fit my teeth properly and the muscles and tendons were irritated by the bad fit. As I said, they're really nice people and probably just fine for routine cleanings, etc. But I can't recommend them for anything else. Do yourself a favor and find a different dentist. read more
