In late 2024, one hygienist told me I no longer showed any signs of periodontal disease and that I could return to regular cleanings every six months. However, at my next appointment, a different hygienist insisted that no such update had been given. At my most recent visit, I was again told I needed lifelong periodontal cleanings and would continue to be charged the extra fee. The office appeared very disorganized: after my teeth were polished, I waited more than 30 minutes with no communication. Because they were so far behind, the dentist eventually completed the cleaning, confirmed that my teeth and gums looked healthy, and, when asked, stated that what he performed was a regular cleaning, not a periodontal cleaning. When I questioned the additional $53 charge, he referred me to the front desk. The staff member at the front desk insisted I had received a periodontal cleaning. After speaking with the dentist, she returned saying he had "misspoken," but waived the fee for that day due to the confusion. She further stated that I would be charged $53 for all future visits. This was not a small investment. I paid nearly $5,000 out of pocket and never received results. The devices were not tolerable, not effective, and not completed to the standard promised.
