But these folks are in a different class. They were extremely professional, while also friendly, informative, and skilled at diagnosing and fixing the problems quickly. I signed up for the VIP furnace and AC maintenance plan without batting an eye. I know it'll pay for itself in the long run by extending the life of my "mature" HVAC system. Their furnace maintenance was thorough, and the receipt included a detailed rundown of system pressures they took. They explained that these readings will be used as a baseline for comparison next year. They informed me about basic maintenance I can do. I'm curious about this stuff and like to learn, so I can do as much of it myself as possible.They even put easy instructions for annual water heater draining right on the unit. I have confidence in their integrity, that they will only suggest maintenance or repairs that are actually needed. Also, Leann went to bat for me when I ran into a snaffoo with my home warranty company, when they ordered the new water heater from Texas rather than getting one locally. When Jim came out to perform our semi-annual HVAC servicing we told him that we were having trouble…read morecooling our upstairs rooms. He completed a thorough check of both our units and discovered one of them was not operating effeciently. He quickly diagnosed the problem and performed the necessary repairs, but about 30 minutes after he left our house I discovered that water was leaking from the unit in our garage. I called the office and they told me Jim would return and perform repairs as needed, and in less than 30 minutes he was at work on the faulty unit. He determined that the unit's drain pipe was blocked, and over a period of 45 minutes he used an array of tools clear the blockage. We have had no more problems with leaking water! Smith Heating & Air Our central AC stopped working yesterday…read moreand it's the hottest it's been all year. I called twice because they were busy, which I understood and was not upset by, I was never once rude when I called either, I just wanted my AC fixed because it is 95+ degrees in our home. When the guy finally came to our home (his name was Greg), he looked at the unit once, looked at our breaker, and looked at our furnace. All he did was tell my girlfriend who was home at the time that it was filthy and he wasn't going to work on our home because it would take him hours and he would rather work on regular customers, and his attitude and demeanor to my girlfriend was rude, and he told her that he would talk to his boss but we should call someone else. And dont get me wrong, i understand his point and where he was coming from, but his overall attitude and demeanor was not that of someone i would want representing my company. Mind you, the person who lived here before was worse about the upkeep and I don't personally know much about the upkeep of HVAC units which is why I called, what I mistakenly thought to be, professionals and I have called this company before when we had an issue with our furnace and had great service then. This time was not great service and I was hoping to be a regular customer of Smith's but I don't think I'll be calling them for service ever again unless this is remedied. Yep, an edit to update, I am also never recommending them to anyone, I called and spoke to someone in charge and asked what I needed to do on my end to help them do their job so it wouldn't take them hours to fix my ac and the guy just told me to call someone else as they're short on people then hung up on me when I tried to ask another question. One last edit. I finally was able to get someone from SALINA to come fix our AC today and that guy was very professional and polite. He was here when he said he would be and the job that Smith said would take them hours to do only took this guy 30 minutes and my AC is working better than ever.
