Liquor bottle found in the second room thy gave me closet

This was the worst hotel stay ever in my life. The front desk staff was okay but the rooms were terrible. When I checked into the hotel and received my key and went to my room the door was open and tv on. I have never got my key at a hotel and the door be open with the tv playing. When I questioned the staff they told me something about the housekeeper. I was already running late for a meeting so I put my luggage in the room and left. I told myself that I will deal with this when I return. I got back to the hotel later and grabbed my things and went back to the front desk. The other ladies were gone so I had to explain my situation to the night lady (she was wonderful by the way). She understood why I didn't feel safe sleeping in that room so she called her manager but she didn't answer or call back. So the nice lady found me another room. The room didn't even seem to be bad. However, when I went to hang up my dress in the closet there was an empty E&J VSOP bottle sitting in the corner. This right here tells you that their housekeeping team half a** their jobs. Since I booked with a third party, the manager told me that she couldn't refund me. She did tell me if I signed up with Choice thatI she could give me some points. I stepped to the side to do that and she took down my number. However, today 10/13 makes a whole week since my stay and I have yet to see them Points. I was not the only customer in that hotel that was having problems. My one Soror sister had to use her shoulder to get her door to open. Another one could never get into her room with her key and another one could not leave her room without closing the door all the way. This hotel need to be remodel and updated ASAP. Because when I tell you that I will never stay at this hotel in Clinton, Mississippi as long as I'm on this earth. This place is a safety hazard to anyone that lodge here. By the way, the one star is because I can't leave zero.

Start with the positives. Location is decent. It's among a busy business district area, right off the interstate. Check-in was semi-simple although stern (maybe the day staff is more pleasant). The rooms and hotel overall is indeed within the 2.5 star range. The bathroom is somewhat newer and the furniture fixtures are not worn or chipped. Plenty of light in the room and the location is a tad bit away from the major road so noise isn't a big problem. Negatives - checked all of the boxes! Found two roaches, or let me say, two found me on a mirror close to the bed area Bed bugs, yes. Photo proof attached (yes that dot was moving). Hair in the bed linens Breakfast was weak (using covid as an excuse of course) but machine coffee and machine juice with a few plastic muffins were available. Some reviewers would instantly one star a place for bugs/pests alone. I just think the hotel is being lazy. Yes, it's a small town hotel but that doesn't make it an excuse to not exterminate or freaking smile upon arrival. STOP USING COVID AS AN EXCUSE TO NOT CLEAN ROOMS! This isn't political, it's hygiene.

Clean and comfortable, things seem to be updated. There are several late night restaurants and convenience places around. I like that they have an indoor pool and gym at this location.

Room- we had to moved twice. First one had problems with the lock and key card wont work. Front desk had to come up and "fixed it" but it quickly stopped working again. Came up again. He said he "batteries might have to be replace" but he dont know how. Maintenance guys will do it Second room was fine but the dividing door to the other room where other guests were staying seem to be so thin so we can easily hear the screams and fighting from the kids, and parents yelling. Kids are kids-- I get it... But I wish they had thicker dividing doors! Our third room was fine. Bed was comfy and sheets were clean. Bathroom was clean Staff were friendly and polite. The front desk lady said "good morning!" when I came down the next morning for breakfast. During breakfast, boiled eggs ran out and when I informed the lady working the area, she quickly brought out more. Spa was broke (see picture) but pool was working and had warm water Fitness center- treadmill broke (see photo). Another review here from months ago mentioned about it too-- they havent fixed it? The elliptical was working great, though

Only upon settling in to our king suite room did we find many inexcusable deficiencies. Since is was late, we opted to tough it out and get to sleep, since we were only there for one night and needed immediate rest before an early departure in the morning. Here are a few of the more notable items: light would not work in the bathroom, outlet was defective in bathroom, floor in bathroom was nasty (we hand mopped it with a towel to show how dirty it was), toilet seat was completely broken in half, paint splatters were on the floor, someone had left stray pills (medicine) on the floor. We rang the bell for the manager at the front desk and waited almost twenty minutes with no one ever coming to the desk. We finally spoke to the breakfast area staff and told them we needed to speak to the manager. She said the manager was on a conference call and did no know when she would be available, but assured us we would get a call. We left the detailed list with our keys and room number and departed. It has been over a month and still no call and no assistance. This is definitely not the Fairfield experience we have been accustomed to, and certainly does not live up to the Fairfield Promise.

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Jackson,…read moreMississippi. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences I have had at a Hilton property. To begin on a positive note, the check-in experience was excellent. The staff was welcoming, my digital key worked perfectly, and my room was clean upon arrival. My first day was pleasant, and I was looking forward to the remainder of my stay. However, beginning on the second day, the quality of service declined significantly. When I returned to my room, the beds had not been made, the towels had not been exchanged, and the box of facial tissue had not been replenished, despite only containing one tissue upon my arrival. Additionally, one of the two rolls of toilet tissue had already been used as it was partial to begin with and not replaced. I contacted the front desk, and the attendant informed me that there was no one available to bring towels or tissue to my room. While this was inconvenient, I understood that staffing challenges can occur. I then asked why my room had not been serviced, and I was told that the hotel performs only a "partial cleaning" on the second day, with a full cleaning scheduled for the third day. Although I was disappointed, I accepted the explanation. Unfortunately, the situation only worsened. On the third day, I again returned to an unserviced room. My beds remained unmade, no fresh towels had been provided, no facial tissue had been replenished, and even the dirty towels had not been removed. Ironically, I could hear housekeeping staff working in the hallway outside my room. From what I could tell, the only service performed during this so-called "partial cleaning" was replacing the bath mat. It was not until my final day that someone was finally able to deliver fresh towels to my room--something I had been requesting for several days. I was also disappointed with the breakfast service. On my first morning, I asked if I could order from the menu. The employee informed me that he was working alone and therefore could not take orders, despite signage indicating that made-to-order breakfast was available. Then, on my final evening, I observed several employees gathered around the bar, which appeared to be fully staffed and busy each night. It was difficult to understand why basic guest services, such as room servicing and breakfast orders, were unavailable due to staffing shortages while multiple employees appeared to be assigned elsewhere. As a longtime Hilton guest, I expect a much higher standard of service. While I understand that staffing shortages and operational challenges occur, they should not come at the expense of basic housekeeping, guest amenities, or advertised services. Unfortunately, this experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I do not plan to stay at this property again. I hope Hilton reviews the operations at this location to ensure future guests receive the level of service that is expected from the Hilton brand. Also no one ever responds to the app in the chat and there is no phone in the room for you to call a front desk.

Showers were clean, water hot quickly and no obvious stains or uncleanliness in the room/kitchen/bath. Comfy bed with plenty of pillows. Few issues...there wasn't a cart available so we had to take several trips to the car. To be fair, Jackson, MS wasn't my destination, it's simply a great midpoint for me to rest when I'm road trippin' between Dallas and Atlanta. The Good: The hotel is relatively new and It's conveniently located near the University of Mississippi Medical Center and VA hospital. A few restaurants are within walking distance, which is a plus. It's also pet-friendly, which is fabulous since my fur babies love a good road trip. Also, the staff is really nice (shoutout to Francine!) The not-so-Good: There's an appearance of clean in the rooms, but not really. On my last stay, I was greeted by couch stains, rusty shower, and some leftover "mystery gunk" in the kitchen sink. It's the second time the TV didn't work, and the fourth time my digital key failed. The entire fridge moved around the kitchen whenever I opened it, LOL. Also, the lobby can get quite loud, since it occasionally turns into a hangout spot for large groups. Know before you go that the surrounding area can feel a bit mixed and while I've never felt unsafe, staying aware is a must. Pet owners, take note: The designated dog areas can get very messy since not everyone picks up after their pets and the hotel doesn't seem to maintain these areas well. If want your pup's paws clean, you'll need to find another spot for walks. Bottom line: When the price is right, this a decent option for an overnight stay. Just know there are some "quirks", and plan accordingly. Happy Stays!

The staff I will say are great and try to help with what they can. The first room I checked into was so hot and filthy, I had to request a room change. Not sure why I was given a handy accessible room with a broken faucet, dirty floors and dirty walls. I know it's been hot lately (78F) but the AC units don't seem to keep up in this building at all. The temps in the rooms barely budge lower and sometimes even creep up! Also power seems to be unreliable as it goes out at least once a day! Building looks a little neglected with lots of hallway lightbulbs not working, and just small issues like paint and cracks on doors. At first glance everything will look fine until you start looking more closely. Breakfast is just your usual complimentary fare of eggs and bacon, bagels, yogurt, juice and coffee. You can make yourself some mini waffles with syrup if that's your preference. I did enjoy the coffee very much. Couldn't access the pool as the room cards don't seem to unlock the gate and staff don't really know why. Wifi is also very spotty at this location as I regularly get disconnected for 30-60 minutes at a time. No water is provided so you'll have to get your own. Showers are nice and large with nice smelling soaps. Unfortunately, no moisturizing lotions but Jackson is fairly humid so you might not need. I love the Hilton brand, and arrived to this location after having left a Hilton in NYC (Time…read moreSquare). I'm attached to this chain, but let's say that this one in Jackson should lose its Hilton branding. It's a beautiful lobby, very ornate and stately. I was surprised at how nice it was when I walked in. I had high hopes, but it went down hill from the time I checked-in: #1 Key system was down upon check-in (after arranging for pre-check and digital key before I arrived) -- and had to be escorted to my room on the 7th floor for about 24 hours. I never got access to the digital key despite 2 different front desk people telling me that it should be working. #2 I was so happy to see a fridge and microwave in the room, but with that comes pests, and I was assaulted by fruit flies during my 4-night stay. This was the worst part of the stay. Really gross, as they were flying in my eyes, and face, and jumping into my drink cups. They were all In the bathrooms, desk, curtains, nightstands, etc. #3 By day 2, their app-based valet car retrieval service was down, and it didn't come back online until a day before my check-out. What was supposed to be convenient ended up being a delay. Kudos to the valets for hustling as fast as they could during the inconvenience. #4 Arrived at the bar/grill one night because the literature said they close at 10, and by 9:10 -- they were like the Kitchen is closed. Okay. Thought closing hours (ON A FRIDAY) were 10. #5 The literature in the bathroom says that they clean your room every other day. I was there 4 days before anyone serviced my room, and then they didn't leave any towels. I didn't noticed that I had no towels (I returned to my room late in the evening) until I got up to head to the airport the next morning. #6 Forget trying to close the closet door in my room -- it was almost falling off the hinges. The only reason that I don't give this 1-star is because it has the potential to be better. Convenient location. Modern/online amenities like check-in and valet apps. And the lobby space is beautiful and the rooms are nice and spacious. I appreciated the 24-hour valet and being able to get or drop off my car whenever I want. The upkeep needs to be better to ensure that all systems are operating at the level that we expect of a Hilton brand hotel.
