This place is in dire need of some hard core cleaning and updating. I was disgusted by the furniture in our room. They doo have some decent breakfast items available if you can get there fast enough to grab them. The walls and bath area are just worn out and gross. I cut my stay short as there really are not many places to stay that are any better in the area. There was a huge pine roach on our wall the first evening. This hotel does not even deserve a 1 star rating, let alone a 2.5 star rating. If we had not already paid in advance, we would have left. I sure hope we do not get Covid-19! We checked in on 11.14.2020 into room 210. Looking at the lobby, it appeared that it was going to be a decent hotel. When we checked into the room however, we wondered why a light was on and the tv going. We then had to go back to the front desk because there were no towels, shampoo, or coffee. (We were told they were out of coffee.) Because we were tired, we went to bed early, planning on showering the next morning. Sometime during the night, we turned on the light to go to the restroom only to find a bug climbing on the wall and another on the desk. After using the bathroom, we then had no more bathroom tissue left and no backup. Early the next morning, we started to take a shower and discovered that there was no shower curtain! We had to shower with water splattering all over the place. Getting out of the shower, we discovered that the walls were filthy with something splattered on the walls in multiple places. Going downstairs to get coffee, we found that they only had a frozen pizza and a bar to go with that coffee...no juice, yogurt, fruit, pastry, etc. (The pizza was just sitting out in bags and were not in a refrigeration unit.) The man working said that someone must had forgot to order and the truck had not come in. Checking out, my husband told the lady working the front desk. We did not even get an apology. EVERYTHING!!! To start when we checked in there was no shampoo, soap etc, when I called I received extremely rude attitude. There was also no fridge and the microwave stunk. We decided just to go into town to eat, came back several hours later and discovered roaches. When I walked down to the front office...due to phone also not working I was told that the manager would not move us. No one even acted like they were going to attempt to do anything about the problem. The ice machine also out of order and there are cats EVERYWHERE, due to trash all over I would assume! I 100% would not recommend. NOW I have to figure out what to do with all our belongings in an effort to not track them back to my house! I have never stayed in such a nasty room with a staff and owner that could care less! I won't even start on the burn holes all over everything! read more

We were traveling drove for 12 hours. So we decided to get rooms here. We walked in and rented two rooms. One of the rooms was wide open and a man was leaving tge room as we walked up. The door didn't really lock. The beds were filthy with hair and stains. They had bed bugs and roaches. No way we were staying there. I didn't even let my kids out of the car we went and asked to be refunded they said sure it would take a few days. I ended up calling my bank because they charged my card 3 separate times 400$ I got the money back that was over a month ago. I'm laying here trying to go to bed and my phone alerts they are trying to get $ 50 .. this is wrong. How do they get away with this. Is it the worst place to stay, no. Is it great, also, no. I would say this is trying to be an average hotel, but it is failing. Used to be an Econo Lodge, but i guess they were bought by Quality Inn. Well, this place is certainly not quality. Its like someone bought a decent hotel, and then ran out of money. Its falling apart. Smelled pretty bad in the hallway, and worse in the rooms. This hotel is disgusting. You get what you pay for. The woman working the front desk was wearing sweat pants, a tank top, slippers, and no mask. She looked like she literally rolled out of bed. The lobby bathroom was dirty and had no toilet paper. Upon exiting the elevator on the 3rd floor to our room my children and I were not only greeted with the smell of cigarettes, but also marijuana. There was clothes and shoes in random corners of the hotel hallways. I believe people live there full time. I brought Clorox wipes along to give the surfaces in our room an extra clean because of covid. See photo - the room was filthy. I have no idea what was in between the beds behind the dresser... a mix of chewed finger nails, food, and something green. I spoke to the front desk about the marijuana. She said she would call the police. Needless to say - we left! They will not refund us. Lesson learned. read more

I have stayed at this hotel approximately 14 separate times over this summer (now at 1113 E Dixie drive, where the Holiday inn express used to be), for government work travel. The staff are all courteous and friendly, check in and out is a breeze, the breakfast items are a plus, location is great, and rooms have felt clean and safe. One star off for the little bit dated decor and furniture- but hey, I'll take that any day with great hospitality and clean rooms. I'll continue to stay here :) read more

Decent but you get what you pay for. I had one of the "nicer" rooms. Bed sheets and everything was dirty. Thankfully I brought my own so I didn't have to go down and demand clean ones. Ironically, this property was once a Comfort Inn a few decades ago. New owners put the property back under the Comfort Inn name earlier this year. Two stories, interior entrances. Rooms are well appointed. I had a king room with a comfortable bed, hi-def tv, microwave and mini frig, nice work area, strong wi-fi signal, spacious room. The breakfast bar offerings I was told will be upgraded soon to include hot items. As for now it had boiled eggs along with the standard pastries, cereal, juice and coffee offerings. WARNING: BED BUGS! I always check for bedbugs when I stay at a hotel and they can be tricky to spot sometimes but not here. There were so many bed bugs in room 128 and I saw them immediately all along the bed! Given the amount, I can't believe no one saw them before me. I immediately informed the front desk and ended up booking a room elsewhere (Getaway Asheboro - HIGHLY recommend). The woman working the front desk was apologetic, kind, and eager to help find a solution but the manager, Sherry, was not. I'm pretty surprised at the negative reviews. I stayed 2 weekend nights with several girlfriends. We had adjoining rooms on the first floor. The rooms were spotless, fresh and modern looking. At night it was peaceful, the breakfast offered those waffle machines, fruit, as well as scrambled eggs, all was good ( not great but hey, it's not a restaurant). Parking was close, staff friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is the entrance and exit are difficult, it would help to have signs to direct you to the lot next door that makes it easier to make a left turn to exit. My window even looked out onto a grassy yard rather than a parking lot. I would absolutely stay there again. read more

We were put in room 126. The room was old looking. The bed linens had not been changed. There were roaches in bathroom. We asked to move. We moved to room 202. Much nicer looking room BUT the TV didn't work and the heat/air didn't work either. The clerk was extremely nice each time. Since it was late and the beds were comfortable, we stayed. The walls are paper thin, you can hear your neighbors talking/laughing. You can hear when your neighbors are showering, using the toilet and watching tv. They only clean your room every three days. Our pillow cases were dirty and so was the furniture in the room. The ceiling above the shower was crumbling and rusty. The hotel has an awkward layout. We had to take our luggage cart around back to get it into our room cause there is no ramps or elevators so you can easily get your stuff in and out of the hotel. But on the plus side, your hotel is off the main highway which is convenient. There are a lot of quick bites around and gas stations. There NC zoo is 10 minutes away! And there is free breakfast which is alright. An older lady runs it and she is very pleasant. read more

We were scheduled to stay 2 days, but extended our visit for 2 more. The rooms are clean and modern with comfortable beds. Parking was available close to the rooms. From the moment you walk in, until check out, the staff will meet any need that you may have. Barbara, at the front desk, was wonderful. The breakfast was plentiful and tasted great. They do not have an elevator so if you can not climb 2 short flights of stairs (about 12 steps total), you will need to request a room on the first floor. Plenty of restaurants, shoppings, and it's close to the zoo. We will be staying here again when in the area. read more

Don't stay here. They are disrespectful towards women the one man at the front talked inappropriate towards me which made me sick. They were rude, ignorant, nor don't they care about their guests. The new management is out for money and can't speak proper English to begin with so why even do this kind of job in the first place. The are prejudice towards ones with disabilities. The place had a broken rail in the bathroom that I reported and fell bruising my leg and they did nothing about yet omg let's put cameras up cause that is more important then a slip and fall. They are the worst here is Asheboro that think their pricing is worth it when really they are overpriced with poor customer service that makes you want to leave. Don't go their it ain't worth it. My husband and I and our two dogs made a trip to Asheboro,NC for a small reunion. We checked in on 11/7 and checked out on 11/8. During our stay, the overall energy and look of the hotel was somewhat unpleasant. Not to the mention the front desk telling me that she didn't like any dogs except for hers. It was a strange encounter but I knew we would only be staying for one night, so I wasn't worried. When we checked out on 11/8, I cancelled our reservations for December because I made other arrangements with much nicer and reputable hotel in the area. During our trip back to Nashville, I checked our bank statement and noticed an additional $150 charged from Comfort Inn. I immediately contacted the the hotel and asked about the charge and they said it was a smoking damage fee. I stated that we did not smoke in our room but she said she couldn't help me back it was only her there. She told me that I would need to contact the manager in the morning. Huge red flag, general customer service would always get the consumer contact information and have the manager contact them. On 11/9 I contacted the hotel and the front desk told me the manager was in the hallway and to call back in 25 minutes. I was frustrated again. I called the Choice Hotels customer care and spoke with a representative. He then told me he would file a complaint but it was up to the manager to reimburse the charges or not. I then called the hotel to try for the manager again. I finally reached the manager and told him our situation and he then said they charged us because we smoked marijuana in our room! I was extremely taken back and stated that we did NOT smoke marijuana in our room. He then stated it took several of his staff and a very expensive cleaning machine to clean out the smoke and that he had an affidavit signed that we smoke marijuana in the room. I stated again that we did NOT smoke marijuana and this was the most ridiculous accusation I have ever heard and wanted our money back. He then stated how long he has been in management and he has never seen anything this before and by that point I had handed my phone to my husband and the manager hung up on him. I then immediately called the Asheboro Police Department to tell them what had happened and out of genuine concern of the safety of that hotel. I was then directed on what I could do. I called the hotel back to let them know that we were in contact with a lawyer for the charge of defamation of character and slander, disputing the charge with our bank and as filing a civil suit. I have contacted the BBB as well as posting several reviews for this hotel. I am taken back by the lack of customer service as well as the accusation of my husband and I smoking drugs in the hotel room, which is clearly not the case. $150 is nothing, but it's the principal behind the matter and how we were accused. We will voice out our experience so this does not happen to someone else. We were clearly scammed out of money. read more

Girls trip to Seagrove NC for some pottery therapy. We stayed at this comfort inn for two nights. The front desk were really nice. Breakfast was your typical breakfast, cereal, waffles and yogurt. The hallways stunk so bad, there was mud everywhere from the construction crew and mildew all over the hallways. That wasn't the worst part. The worst part was the construction workers! Very rude! Nasty! This is NOT a place for the family or women. Just saying. We were both shocked at how badly we were treated by the other residence (construction workers) of the hotel. I wish I had known this. Hotel is very difcult to get in and out of hotel is directly beside a very busy off ramp. One of the counter help is rude if you don't speak Spanish.. They charge a $15 fee if you check in before 3 l tried to check in at 2:15 then my cousin at 2:30 and we had reservations. read more

I am very disappointed in the Comfort Inn, Asheboro, and will never use this hotel again. I am an employer at a large IT corporation and booked a two week hotel stay for an employee that I have known and worked with for several years, who has proven herself time and again to be kind, professional and hard-working. She was in town assisting a local hospital with an implementation project and working 12-14 hour shifts at a time. Each night when she returned from the hospital to her hotel room, her room key had been inactivated. On the fourth evening, she came to the front desk (again) asking for a new key and was told she had until 11 a.m. the next morning to leave her hotel room. This was said by the General Manager, Shawn Patel. When I called into the hotel asking why my employee was being asked to leave, Shawn said that he couldn't make her happy and thought it would be better for her to stay elsewhere. I specifically asked if there was a confrontation or if she acted in a rude and unprofessional manner. He refused to answer the question and continued to demand that she leave. When I asked to speak with Shawn's supervisor, I was given the number to Customer Service. I called in multiple times and was put on hold for up to an hour at a time. I strongly believe that my employee acted in a professional manner the entire time she was at Comfort Inn and that the reason she was asked to leave was due to the color of her skin. I would highly discourage anyone who is of a different race from staying in this hotel. read more
