This was always our go to hotel when we stayed in Evansville. I judge a hotel on if they have that 'cover up smell' which this hotel didn't in the past so not sure if they have changed hands but this trip as soon as we walked in the lobby could 'smell' the 'smell'. I am not picky on hotels, I just want it to be clean & not hiding behind the god awful stuff they use to make it seem clean if I'm spending at least hundred bucks. GROSS and disappointing. My friend and I came into town for a girls weekend. Nowhere on the app, website or confirmation did they say the pool was closed until we got there (on a nearly 100 degree weekend). By then we were told if we cancel we forfeit one night charges. So we checked in anyways. We got the room we wanted (thank you), which was 3rd floor and far from the elevators. That was perfect. But everything else was gross. Bathroom hasn't been mopped in who knows how long (the corners were disgusting), the drawers wouldn't stay in the cabinet (kept sliding open), the door to where the fridge was was broken (handle came off) but the worst was the disgusting towels and comforters which I didn't realize till after I used them. The towel had stains from self tanner or dark foundation on it (I don't wear makeup and actually thought I nicked myself shaving and that it was a bit of blood which was mixed with water, but it wasn't.) The comforter on one of the beds I found out on the second night was covered in the same stains. Big ones. I was disgusted I slept in a bed that they didn't effectively clean. I asked for a replacement comforter. They didn't offer to replace it just handed me another one to put on myself. The second one wasn't much better. It had coffee stains on it and was ripped. Location was good and the room was quiet so there are two pluses but the disgusting cleaning processes there make me worry about what else I didn't see. Sorry but we definitely won't be back and if we'd noticed the comforter and towel on the first night we would have checked out. read more

Oh my! At breakfast EVERYONE was shaking their head! "But, this hotel had good ratings?!" My first room was so moldy, smell of mildew overwhelming. Second room photos attached and are self explanatory. When I first arrived and was checking in, there was a middle eastern man yelling on the phone. I asked the attendant to put me away from the yelling. Turned out the yeller was there yelling every day. Of course, yelling in an alternate language. All of the employees were of middle Eastern descent so I don't know if this is family run operation? Don't stay here. Just don't. I'd sleep In the car. read more

This property has been recently remodeled; new paint, floors, sink and fixtures, furnishings, etc. Wi-Fi works well. Check-in was painless and staff is very helpful. Breakfast is the usual Comfort Inn offerings - eggs, sausage patties, various breads, waffle maker. What makes this property stand out is the nightly Happy Hour reception from 5 - 7 pm. It's not too fancy, hot dogs, various chips, and beer and wine. They also serve bourbon, whiskey, tequila, rum, and gin. And its the decent stuff. So after a hard day working, I get to write this review while snacking and sipping on Woodford Reserve. Another plus is this property is pet friendly. read more

Stayed there and left with bed bug bites all over. There is a moldy smell as you walk in the front door and in the room.

Huge spider found alive in our bed. Killed it and took to the front desk to show an employee. Received no apology or compensation. Was brushed off by the employee saying "it's dead". Praying to god it didn't bite us in our sleep. Worst hotel stay ever. read more

The hotel facilities overall are rundown and in bad shape. The price to stay there is way too high for the poor upkeep of the rooms. Not only that, but the management of this hotel are scammers. I was charged a $50 refundable deposit at check-in, which I should have received back after check-out, but the management claims I damaged the wall mounted hairdryer in room. I never touched the hairdryer and when I tried to call the hotel (three different times) no one answered the phone so I have been unable to dispute this matter. read more

If I could I'd give them a 0. When we arrived ,my husband and I, we opened the door and were greeted by the strong smell of mold. We both are still having sinus issues since I've left. We had a funeral to go to and we were worried our clothes would smelled like mold. Since we arrived home I had to wash ever because of everything smells like mold. Doesn't the state do inspections on hotels? No one should be inhaling this stuff. My nephew said their room smelled fine but, my sister and I were on first floor and clearly there's water damage. My husband said let's leave but I was to exhausted to move because of our long drive and what we were about to face at this sad passing of a loved one. The towels were stained the room was filthy ie... pics. The breakfast was disgusting I have know idea what kind of meat the cold sausage was I spit it out immediately. Everything was cold accept the eggs. My sister asked an employee if she could restock the breakfast bins and the lady huffed and rolled her eyes. Staff was unfriendly. This just made our our trip more difficult considering we were there for a loved ones funeral. We would never stay here again and quite frankly I was embarrassed that I was the one who picked this awful place for my sisters and brother in laws to stay here. You failed us miserably. After waiting half an hour to check in, I was promised a quiet room as I let the guy know I had to check out super early because I was in town to be in my best friend's wedding. That night around 10, a party started up. There were people literally right outside my door talking and someone running up and down the hall slamming into doors. That's when I started calling the front desk. The party grew louder and worse as the night went on. I called the front desk about 10 times before around midnight when someone finally answered and said they'd take care of the party. A few minutes later, the party moved to the parking lot right below my window. I called front desk a few more times to no answer and gave up. When I checked out, the girl tried to tell me the phone was broken while wrapped up in a blanket and on her phone. After completing the survey, the hotel's manager just told me he would use my experience to better train the staff and hopes I'd stay with them again when he should have offered to comp my stay or offer me a free night. Bottom line, stay somewhere else. Update: I was told to call general manager after complaining on email survey, and when I called, the staff kept trying to keep me from talking to him. When I finally did get him (I hope I did anyway), he told me he was only told I was upset because of one noise complaint I made. I told him the full story, and he was shocked at what I told him. He gave me a 30% refund and said he would investigate the matter. I do f believe that, but I'm watching my credit card for the refund. read more

I've done a fair share of travelling and have been to a variety of hotels, so I feel like I know a thing or two about quality. I stayed here 1 night with a friend, and honestly wasn't expecting much out of a Comfort Inn, compared to.... like the Hampton Inn in the same area [many times family stayed there when visiting me at UE]. But this Comfort proved me wrong! Both my friend & I really enjoyed our room, it was clean, and the beds were comfy [much more than my own bed]! What really surprised me was they offer free wifi and a free hot breakfast. I also neglected to bring an iPhone charger, and they had one for me to borrow. A lot of hotels at this price point don't. Whenever I visit Evansville again, I will definitely stay here. read more

I went to eat breakfast one morning and found a roach in the eggs. When I addressed the hotel staff he just said "oh I'll change the pan"., which for me wasn't the answer. In my opinion they should have stopped breakfast all together and did a deep clean of the area. Our towels were dingy and the room was kind of smelly. read more

We picked Comfort Inn because it was right across the street from Sweetwater Event Center, and appeared neat and clean. We booked five rooms, no problems with reservations or checkout. Rooms were fine, housekeeping very good, breakfast okay. If you're going to be at an evening event at Sweetwater, then it's difficult to imagine a better place to stay. Between wedding and reception, and while we hosted a quiet happy hour for family, we were able to watch from our room window for the wedding party to arrive at Sweetwater after their out-and-about photography. Following the reception, "going home" amounted to an easy walk across the street. read more

I had been planning this holiday road-trip for some time, and though our ultimate destination was Vincennes, I decided to look in Evansville for a hotel when none of the pet-friendly hotels in Vincennes were appealing to us. I noticed the other positive Yelp review for this hotel, so I booked here. There is a $10 fee for the pet in the room, which we were happy to pay. When we checked in with our dog, the clerk was very friendly, and he also moved our room to the first floor near an exit. We had a nice chat about his dog and our dog, as well. We went out for dinner, but stopped for a nightcap at the hotel's happy hour, for which we were each given several drink tickets. I had a glass of wine, and my husband had a beer. The breakfast was mostly the usual suspects, but no eggs or meat, just biscuits and gravy for hot food. I had my usual hotel breakfast: a self-made waffle with yogurt and coffee. Our key-cards consistently did NOT work in the outside door or our room door, even though we kept them away from each other, credit cards and our phones, but the front-desk staffer was GREAT about coming to help us, investigate the issue and replace our cards. Also, the WiFi is FREE, which is wonderful. I think you cannot go wrong with this friendly, comfortable, hospitable hotel, especially if you are traveling with a pet! read more

This is inexpensive digs for sure! The rooms are clean but rather old and small. First two days I am there, I took what was best described as lukewarm to cold showers. Even as I turned the valve all the way to hot. I thought maybe it was just the morning rush, and I was late to the game. After complaining, they said they would look at it. Come back that night... Not sure if they did anything. I played with the shower valve, and same thing... lukewarm at best. After playing with it a bit more, I noticed something, Eureka! I figured it out. The jackass plumber who installed the system piped the hot and cold water backwards! I would think someone by now would have caught this, and that this would be a safety issue. My door deadbolt also does not lock. It is about 2.5mm off from being able to engage the door strike. My sliding window (being only on the 2nd floor) does not latch shut. The lock simply does not engage anything. There is a piece in the window track though that doesn't allow the window to slide more than 6-inches. My a/c unit squeaks like crazy. All day/night, constantly, no matter what setting. Funny thing though is that I probably sleep better due to the noise. I was also given a tissue box with ONE (1) tissue in it. After using the ONE tissue, it has not been replaced for 3 days now. The fake plant at the elevator lobby... disgusting. This thing is the dusty!@#! WTH? I realize this is not the Four Seasons... but really? Railings in the elevator were broken. The laundry room as a whole is non-functional. I am also not entirely sure, but the TV system might be based on an Eastern time zone... although Evansville is in Central Time... This causes problems with channels and scheduling. The best thing about this place is the free breakfast and evening snack. Breakfast though not the greatest of foods is appreciated. Nice place to fill up before a long day of work. Likewise the happy hour at the end of the day offers beer, chips/salsa, etc. Best of all they are free. Oh and the free Wifi... It is really fast. Upwards of 30Mbps download. I was able to stream video from my home DVR no problem. read more

The check-in process for this hotel was long. The desk person tried to multitask while having a Premier Choice Member waiting. The wait was entirely too long. The breakfast had a lot of food, but the hot food was not good. I stayed in room 101. The toilet ran constantly. The bathroom is not very functional. The bathroom had a STINK odor that would not go away. I found bugs crawling in this room. The room is old and outdated. This room is very noisy because of proximity. The people above, people next door, and the outside noise. This was a terrible room to place any guest. This was a bad stay and I will not return. read more

Definitely 4+ stars!!! I'm from the Bay Area, and although this is no Hyatt Regency or super high class place, it definitely ranks among my highest for chain hotels. We stayed here a few months back and had flown in for a funeral, needless to say we were exhausted and not in the best of moods. My family just had an awful experience down the way at the Days Inn East (I wrote a review there too) and were soo relieved when we showed up here. The man at the front counter (Kenny, I think) was expecting us and was very friendly. It was happy hour and we each received two free drink vouchers.
