Extremely disappointing experience. We redeemed 12,000 Choice Privileges points for a stay and were given a room that smelled strongly of cat urine. The odor was overwhelming and the room was unusable. The property could not move us into a comparable room, so we had no choice but to leave and find another hotel at our own expense, costing us about $200. Choice refunded the points only after complaint, but refused to provide any meaningful compensation for the inconvenience and added cost. For a loyalty program, this was a poor way to treat a customer. Very frustrated with both the property condition and Choice's handling of the situation. read more

Black mold in the bathroom, door had to be slammed to shut, stains all over the carpet, toilet was not to code and was extremely close to the wall, no breakfast at 7am and what was there looked disgusting, exterior doors didn't work so you had to walk around the entire building to get in, exterior doors left open and not secure all night, front desk staff was rude and no help just "oh yea they have issues", AC in the room barely worked and was super hot in the room..... Would not recommend anything about the hotel at all. read more

This was last minute, cheap, and available. Plus they take our pets. Room was 85 and the dogs were 25 each. Wife says never again but my bar is a little lower. The place was clean, the bed was comfortable, the heater was relatively new and worked well. There was all access tv, clean bathroom, endless hot water. Ok, the place needs a facelift, the security camera wires were exposed and disconnected, the entire shower knob assemble and the shower head move around when you're searching for the right temperature, stuff like that. It was a long drive, the place was convenient, but yeah, one time stay.oh, casinos just down the street if you're so inclined. read more

as much as I wanted to enjoy my stay here, it was not as I hoped it to be. The first thing I noticed was the pool and hot tub. The water just felt dirty, and I felt uncomfortable sitting in it. The water in the hot tub, especially. The jets for the hot tub did not work, as the jet panel was completely off the wall with wires sticking out. There was a camera right above where the hot tub was, which was kind of weird and the pool room overall was dirty, unkempt, and the fire alarm sprinklers were completely rusted over. When I got back to my hotel room, I went to take a shower and found that one of the towels had blood stains on it. It was not from me or any roommates, and that made me very creeped out. All ice machines on my floor and the floor above were out of order. Overall, the stay was not that great and I would not come here again. read more

We stopped here on our road trip to Utah just for a quick overnighter. There were 4 of us so we needed two queen beds. This place had a spa, free breakfast and queen beds so it looked like a winner. When we got checked in all seemed fine till we got to our room. The beds were full size. I went to the front desk and asked the attendant if we could please have queen beds and she said you do have queens. I asked her if all the rooms had the same size for queen she said yes. Ok so they lied. These beds are full size and they are advertising as queen. It was one night so we stayed. I measured the beds to make sure I'm not wrong. They measure as full. The false advertising is what's bad. Don't lie to us. The rest of the place was dingy looking. The ice machine was gross looks like it would be slimy ice. The spa wasn't working proper when we tried to use it. Also the handrail you hold to get in was very loose and as I stepped in the spa I slipped down and fell into it. Something they need to fix because an older person could really have gotten hurt. They had free breakfast and it wasn't bad. The main thing that really frustrates me is lying on your advertising with the beds. I would never stay here again. read more

Well where do I start. We were only staying 1 night and when we checked in we were told the entrance door closest to our room wasn't always working-she was right, We got into our room and it was clean and the two Queen beds were actually Full beds. Before retiring we took showers and lo and behold no shampoo or conditioner needless to say I did not have a happy wife. I went to the lobby and asked for shampoo and conditioner as the containers attached to the shower wall were empty. The young lady who was working apologized and then began a frantic search through all the drawers at the front counter finding 3 small shampoo bottles and no conditioner-I knew that I was going to hear about that!! Next my wife wanted to open the window and air the room out a little, well the screens on the windows were frayed with holes so that was out. Lastly I felt sorry for the rooms around us as when we turned the bathroom fan on it sounded like I had started a John Deere tractor. But hey my Dad told me a long time ago. You get what you pay for. The breakfast was plentiful and about the same as most hotels offering a continental breakfast. Probably wouldn't stay again. read more

Working in Elko for 4 days covering a colleague's shift who is on family leave...long 4 and 1/2 hour drive from Reno. I was able to pick any hotel in town to stay the 4 nights. I chose the Comfort Inn. They had an indoor pool,jacuzzi, free breakfast, and of course a reasonable priced room. The desk person who greeted me was very nice. I arrived late at about 11 pm, and he checked me in and gave me 2 card keys and directed me to where my room was. I parked my car in the lot and grabbed my bags. Headed to my room for some sleep... The room was really big! Tall ceilings...the bathroom was on right with the toilet and shower as I entered the room, and to the left was the closet, and next to the closet was the sink and mirror. There were 2 queen beds and a small table with chairs, a TV stand with a TV and a microwave with an apartment size refrigerator and a freezer. I woke the next morning and took a look out the window-I had a view of a brick wall, and there was a walkway, and there was trash on the walk. I informed the front desk about it before I left to work. The desk person said she would let the grounds person know about it. I went to see what was for breakfast in the dining area...they had all kinds of quick bites from waffles,cold cereal,hot cereal,toast,yogurt, coffee,juices,fruit,eggs,bacon,muffins,danishes,biscuits and gravy. Everything was great for the free breakfast! The 2nd day, I left for the day. I put the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. I don't like cleaning people in my room when I only stay a few days. But, when I came back from my shift at work the housekeeping staff had cleaned my room...I didn't mind at first until I realized one of my receipts was missing from the TV stand...I get reimbursed for my food,so I was saving to turn in,but it was gone, so the next morning I called the front desk to let them know that someone had cleaned my room even though I had my DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door and I needed my receipt, she said she would contact whomever cleaned my room and they would find it. Anyway, long story short, they returned my receipt the next morning. The rest of the stay was uneventful. The jacuzzi was great after a long 12 hour shift!! The indoor pool was ice cold. I was kind of hoping it was heated, it would get more use if it had been heated...not sure what happened to the gym/exercise room...it was empty and I think there was supposed to be a sauna but I didn't see that either. It's a nice place to stay,but they need to fix a few things. read more

Our hotel was dirty, in my opinion. Stains on the carpet, ice maker broken on the 2nd floor. The ice maker on the main floor, the "shelf" you put the ice bucket was gone, it looked like someone smashed it. The shower/tub was in a separate room, with the sink being in the main room. All the towels were under the sink. There was room for a towel bar next to the tube/shower. The office is on one end of the building, the elevator on the other end. Overall the planning of the hotel was very poor. read more

Stayed one night here on Feb. 23, 2025. First, the desk clerk was pleasant and helpful. The enture place is a bit shabby. The large sign out front had evidently been completely broken so that really looked bad. The room was typical but it was fairly clean & we did tip the housekeeper. The refrigerator was so loud we had to uplug it. The sink was barely draining and the TV had gliches that made it cut in & out while watching. We came back through 8 days later and chose to stay at another faciltiy. The large sign was still broken. read more

Good place overall, just unfortunately it's in a flimsy building with pretty thin walls. You hear phone convos through the wall, Godzilla Feet or kids running and jumping next door will rattle your room and furniture on the 2nd floor. A little thin on amenities too, I mean that's not unusual for Elko but this place is kinda billed and priced as being more midscale than all the budget places. I guess there was a fitness room once, but it's gone now. Coffee is out most of the day in the lobby, but not before breakfast starts. They do have a big indoor pool that hardly anyone seems to use though. One nice little benefit is the $1-for-each-machine laundry, tho the dryer only runs like 30 min so you'll probably need to run it twice. Place is fine to just crash out for one night espc. if you happen to need to do a load of wash. Girls at the desk and breakfast were nice, place seems kept up well, standard good comfy midscale rooms, and it's right next door to an Albertsons. read more

For the price and location, would stay again. It was fairly clean. Breakfast selection varied from day to day and was serviced by a wonderful woman named Kathy. Our biggest dismay was the noises -- stomping from upstairs, endless beeping from within the room (from multiple sources) - it would be great if management could work to resolve this for a better night's sleep for future guests. Another downside was that the pool and hot tub became closed due to unsafe chlorine levels, but we understand that that happens. read more

Perfect place to crash if you're passing through on a long drive. It's a little dated but very clean and well managed. The bed was decently comfortable. It's nothing fancy but also totally acceptable. The free breakfast offered waffles, breakfast tacos with eggs and sausage, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, and more, plus fresh coffee and soda fountain juices. I have been traveling on the road with my fiance for many days and have stayed at Motel 6 and Super 8-very nice hotels for the price. Being tired from driving, we decided to try Comfort Inn Elko, as it looked very well maintained from the outside and I was aware of the Comfort Inn's great reputation. I was a bit concerned about the price but honestly, it wasn't that much more than a Super 8. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was fairly large, super comfortable beds, great TV and unbelievably clean. I was also pleased how nice the air was, being a smoke free hotel. There was a really nice indoor pool, Jacuzzi, excercize room and sauna (which I did not use). The next morning, there was a wonderful breakfast of cereals, juices, coffee, eggs and other items. The manager was so friendly, asking how everyone's stay was and how the breakfast was. They were completing work on an elevator to the 2nd floor, which will make it easier for the guests. As a frequent Elko visitor, I have stayed in a number of the hotels in the area and was quite happy with this location. The room was clean and the price was fair. Checking in, the little gal at the front was as pleasant as she could be! Chatty without slowing down the process, made sure I knew where I was going, and made it clear when breakfast would be. The room was nicely done with a small desk which was great for catching up on emails. I also love when the sink and mirror are not locked in the bathroom so you can get ready while watching the news in the morning. I had a breakfast meeting early and left my stuff because I was going to come back. At 11, they called me to make sure I was coming back as I left my stuff behind. I told them I needed 15 minutes which they were great about. I appreciated the courtesy call. Only negative was the fridge made a weird whistling sound. I'm sure they would have handled if I brought it up, but I was tired and just wanted to hit the hay. read more

Discomfort-Inn. I'm writing this at 3:30 in the morning... if it really was comfortable, I wouldn't. But here are the main issues: 1. The Air Conditioner sounds like you are in an airplane that's about to fall apart. It is so loud and so many rattling noise coming from it, you might as well not use it. 2. The neighbors sink is incredibly loud. They just turned it on and left it on for 5 minutes and it sounds like tv static because of how loud it is. Keep in mind this was after turning off the AC. Oh yeah, and you can hear them walking around. 3. The pillows are horrible. My neck and face are killing me. And it feels like I have pink eye from the pillowcase. My eye hurts and is swollen yet was fine on the car ride here. I don't think any quality of breakfast can redeem this place. I wouldn't stay here if it was the only place to stay. read more

Hotel was almost empty of other guests. Was not told when booking or when checking-in that there would be no housekeeping staff during our stay so consequently we had to shuttle towels and garbage between our room and the front desk. Property is old but maintained. Horribly clogged shower head (a serious problem with hotels in Elko.) I'd stay again but not before exploring other options. read more

We are traveling from Arkansas to California and usually stay at a Mariott (points). -First appearance, easy access and very clean outside. -Well Lighted and close to I-80. -Front desk staff Amazing!! Recommended a great Mexican place to eat, and it was very good. -Room was a double queen, very clean, spacious and comfy. - Pool....ehhhh it's ok for the kids. - breakfast was amazing and a great way to start the next day!! If your passing through and need a good night, quite sleep. This is your place!! I was not sure what to expect of a town called Elko, in the middle of nowhere, but the town was also very friendly and quite established. Cons - none that would matter read more

You claim that I walked into the lobby and signed for the room with my initials; which in fact I never did and ironically you have no cameras there! The fact is I never went into your lobby and I never signed for the room with my initials that you claim I did. So ironically funny that you don't have footage of that! I didn't stay here, but came here by mistake. I had a reservation at another place down the road. I suppose it's an easy error to make when you've been on the road all day. Anyway, young gentlemen couldn't find our reservation. I gave him the reservation number and he was very kind in telling me it didn't show in their system.....and that's when my error was discovered. Just wanted to say that he was very professional and nice at the whole thing....and it was 100% my fault. I have on occasion done this before, and have received negative attitude from other places....but not here. Kudos for your understanding and kindness. read more

Great clean room. A little dated and hard beds compared to other Comfort inns. But MUCH better than the other Choice hotel locally.

Worst hotel management ever. We booked 16 rooms for a little league tournament and when families checked in against those reservations they made the mistake of not offsetting each reservation and made us pay for an additional 6 or 7 rooms. We never booked more rooms than families on the team, obviously! When we asked for a record of what they already charged us their manager refused and we said we needed a copy as we paid an additional $800.00 or more than necessary. The manager then evicted all 16 families and called the police where three armed police officers stood watching us walk out. What an impression on 13 and 14 year old boys. We were never rude or loud nor confrontational however they felt it necessary to kick us out and humiliate us with a police escort. This is the worst run business I have ever seen. You should be ashamed of yourselves and I know Karma will show up on your doorstep and it will be well earned. read more

We've been traveling across and back the US. We have stayed in several different Comfort Inn and Suites. This hotels was clean, well maintained, water pressure good, heater works well, beds are soft and comfy, free WIFI and free hot breakfast. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars is there wasn't any biscuit and gravy at this location. My husband loves biscuits and gravy. At all the other locations we stayed at we had biscuits and gravy available. Other than that it was a great hotel to stay in. read more

This hotel has the cleanest pool area! Very nice. But like all Comfort Inns now, there are no towel racks in the bathroom. Please put towel racks in the bathrooms. We would reuse our towels if we had a place to hang them. read more

This place is outstanding! I never write reviews but I have to for this place. The staff is absolutely amazing and go above and beyond. I have stayed here a few times and each time I feel like a VIP. The continental breakfast is the best one I have seen in a hotel with all sorts of hot meals and many choices. The pool is always clean and warm! Small, poorly staffed site. Room was only moderately clean, very small bath, very noisy refrigerator that kept coming on all night. Both TV and A/C were "conservation" controlled and would switch off every few hours. TO TOP THINGS OFF WE WERE DOUBLE BILLED ONCE ON OUR BUSINESS CREDIT CARD AND ONCE ON OUR PERSONAL CARD. Very pleased! Husband and I got too tired driving and stopped in here to catch a couple hours of sleep, glad we did. Room was very clean and bed was comfy The bath tub faucet was a little worn looking, but clean. Also wall paper was lifting a little off walls. Overall very nice & tidy. I read the reviews and thought this would be a 4 star inn. It was not. This place had definitely seen better days. Our room had cut and pealing wall paper. It was not dirty, just a little tired. One of the reason I picked this motel, was because of the the breakfast. Some of the reviewers had written that it was better than the Holiday Inn Express across the street. The breakfast was disappointing. The tables were dirty. We had to clean off our own table. They ran out of coffee and orange juice. When my wife went tell the clerk, she saw 3 employee sitting drinking coffee. Nobody was taking care of the breakfast room. It could have been a nice experience if they had a manager on site. read more

Just want to tell everyone about my experience with booking at this hotel. I book for our installers working in the area and Dottie helps me out all the time with pleasure, always so cheerful and happy to help, it is a true pleasure to call and hope that she is the only person I have to speak to when I book my rooms for the guys. The guys are very pleased with their stay at this hotel, no complaints but Dotttie just goes above and beyond, just out of her way to sound cheerful and happy to assist whenever I call, always a pleasure and efficient and accurate with all information provided and making sure I get my receipts after the guys check out also. Impressed- except for the plates. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, the employees were kind and courteous- from the maids to the receptionist (who knew who we were the moment we walked in). However, I'm knocking a star off because in the continental breakfast they used exclusively styrofoam plates and bowls. Styrofoam is non-biodegradable and considered the leading cause of marine pollution and there are inexpensive alternatives (paper!!). Switching the material would be the environmentally responsible thing to do, and something that would encourage to me to come back again. read more
