This tired old motel, like me, has much more road in the rear view mirror than straight ahead. I do like that actually in spite of the need for renovation, it's an older two story design that you just don't see anymore. You'll know what I mean when you pull up. The last renovation was a while ago, and some of the plugs aren't really accessible, so you might have some trouble if you use a CPAP. I don't know that this would be anyone's first choice, it wasn't mine. I attended a conference at the Radisson, which is a very easy walk through the contiguous parking lots. The Radisson and Holiday Inn are nicer but also more expensive. We reserved a king but got two full size instead, but the room was clean and everything worked. No housekeeping service though we were here four nights, and they only gave us tiny little shampoo, conditioner and body lotion to last maybe one day. Farm Fleet is pretty close by. Lots of wasteful little plastic and paper cups wrapped in more plastic, room coffee maker makes a not very good cup of coffee. Why wrap plastic cups in more plastic? They do have free coffee and hot water all day, but they also run out. They have recycling receptacles which I hope they use to recycle. Morning breakfast is pretty good for free, and different every day, but the room is pretty tight if they are near or fully booked. No elevator, so if mobility is limited, ask for first floor ahead of time. Pool is nice, though too much chlorine, like most motel pools. Relatively inexpensive washer and dryer, but only one of each. Limited exercise room with two different aerobic exercise machines. Bathroom is small but with good air circulation. read more

Completely unacceptable. I have stayed in nearly every hotel chain and this place always messes things up. Not only was the room I booked not given to me, with no explanation, but when questioned tried to gaslight me into making me think it was my error. I pulled up the reservation and was told oh well. Then I was told 12 other different stories over the course of 24 hrs. I have stayed here a few times. The latch for my first room was broken, so I already had to swap rooms. read more

Customer service was top tier. We came in from out of town and was hoping to check in 30 minutes early. Front desk said it was no problem at all and she would have it ready for us when we arrived. Room was sleep and bed was super comfy. Breakfast was underwhelming as the biscuits were rock hard and cold and the gravy was gone. Pooped the biscuits in the microwave and it was good to go. Ham was warm deli meat. However they have a lot of drink options. Overall would definitely book again. read more

This is a nice hotel. It could use some updates but I had a great experience. The staff is friendly, plenty of parking and they have one of the best breakfast I have seen at a choice hotel in a long time. They should be a model of what should be expected, great variety of breakfast food. Different hot breakfast food daily. This made my stay and my days start out great! They also have a pool and a jacuzzi that seen to be a hit. Very family friendly. read more

The only reason this place is getting two stars is because the staff is super friendly and polite. And the amenities are fairly good. The continental breakfast was a little different than most hotels by offering biscuits and gravy and ham slices. The pool is larger and kind of a cool layout. And they have a hot tub or whirlpool (which ever you prefer). But overall, the hotel is super outdated. The outside could use a face lift and a cleaning. The inside could also use some renovations as well. I am assuming the rooms use to be smoked in because they still have that lingering smoke smell. I don't think they ever replaced the carpet and bedding from the smoking era. The bedding that is suppose to be white, has a yellowish tint to it. The bedding wasn't the cleanest or hasn't been changed from the last guest. The fitted sheet looked like it has some harden body fluids on it. I know this hotel is cheaper than the ones in the area but there is no reason for not changing the sheets or not properly washing them. Also, the A/C didn't seem to be working correctly. If you are in the area and don't mind spending the extra cash for the other ones nearby, I would do that instead. Unless you don't mind the idea of possibly risking what you sleep on, this would be for you. Otherwise, just go elsewhere. read more

At first glance I wasn't sure what to expect when we checked in. The location is a bit secluded next to a truck stop and the room colors are a bit dated. There was a washcloth in the bathtub and unflushed toilet paper. The rest of the room (and main hotel area) looked thoroughly cleaned however. After getting past the initial details that left me feeling unsettled, I realized our room was fully stocked with a fridge, microwave, iron & ironing board, tv, blowdryer, coffee maker and wifi. There is a pool, hot tub, and small fitness center. The complimentary continental breakfast was underwhelming, but it was nice to have a little something that spared us having to eat out for breakfast. Put simply, it's not the Hilton but it has everything you could need and the staff we did speak with were friendly. Given the cost savings it was more than worth it. read more

We had a reservation here as we were at a near-ish event. After finding the hotel (barely marked from the road and with a lot with NO lighting on 3 of 4 sides of the building), we went to check in. We arrived at 7:48. How do I know this? Because I checked the time when I saw the "momentarily away from the desk" sign. The clerk returned nearly 20 MINUTES LATER. He began to look up our reservation and only offered a very quiet "sorry if you were waiting." I mentioned that booking online didn't allow us to get a AAA discount. "Oh, ok" says he. I pull out my AAA card. He types a bunch, hands the fiance a form to sign (with NO rate listed) and continues to not say anything and do a lot of typing. We get the room keys. I look and see the room number (he doesn't tell us). "Do you need to see the AAA card, then?" I ask. "No. It's fine," replies the clerk. So we have no idea if we've been given the discount or not. We wander and search for our room. The bed has a worn and torn comforter (see pic) , but otherwise is clean and as to be expected for a value-level hotel. In the morning, breakfast was listed as from 7-9am. I went to get food at 8:30am. No coffee. 2 donuts (no other pastry), but still eggs & sausage. I took what was available and sadly munched on that. At check out the morning clerk was very personable, but didn't have a receipt as "online bookings have the email as their only receipt." So did we ever get that AAA discount? Probably not. But only our credit card bill will know for sure. read more

Home away from home. We stayed at this Comfort Inn for a weekend wedding at Fon du Lac. We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel and this was perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and they offered complimentary breakfast (waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, coffee, juice, pastries, fruit) - it was definitely more than what I was expecting. During our stay we definitely wanted to check out the swimming pool and fitness center, but unfortunately, due to a fire that area is under construction. However, they have partnered with the Holiday Inn and Anytime Fitness to allow Comfort Inn Guests to use their facilities - I thought that was great. The room was very spacious! The room was equipped with a sofa, table, desk, and a small refrigerator. In addition, the bed was super comfy. If for whatever reason I had to come back, I would definitely stay here. read more

I called earlier in the day to make reservations and the manager was so nice and friendly. I got there at 1pm before my room was ready. Which was okay because it was before 3pm. A little wait no big deal because I still had to pack my overnight bag for me and my 2 dogs. When I got into the room it was fabulous. Very comfortable beds and a nice walk in shower and hot tub on the side. Balcony with chairs to sit outside to watch traffic go by. The big plus for me was I am a over the road truck driver and they had room for my truck and trailer. This place will be my go to hotel whenever I am in town. read more

We checked at 9:30 after a 600 mile drive to find a filthy room. There were feces in the toilet. The shower was black and had hair in it. The walls in the bathroom had feces smeared on them and what looked like black mold in the corners. The mini fridge had food left in it. The a/c had dust and filth visible in the vents. The bed sheets were dirty and the mattresses were really old. The floors had built us dust and filth in the corners and looked like they had not been vacuumed, ever. The chairs in the room were stained and blackened. It was a really horrible room. The desk clerk said sorry nothing she could do and gave me a spray bottle of bleach to clean the bathroom. I spent the next hour called hotels on a Saturday night trying to find a room. Then assisted my disabled husband, carried luggage and our dog out of the hotel. There was a steep flight of stairs and no elevator. Discarded beer bottles in the hall and a loud party next door. I do not recommend anyone stay at this hotel and I will never stay at a Choice group hotel. read more

This was a very clean, comfortable hotel, especially for the price. It's a real value. In addition to the great perks like free wi-fi, breakfast in the morning and a fridge/microwave, they allow pets! We were not given a dingy or smoking only room just because we had our dog, and we really appreciated that. Traveling with pets can be frustrating because while our dog is very well-behaved, others that are not have made a bad name for traveling pets. We would stay at this hotel again. read more

Unprofessional, rude staff, and EXTREMELY disorganized. Tl;dr: Ladies in charge fiddled with my file and charged me $1,000 instead of the $360 I actually owed (still sorting this out), they denied charging me that much money, the worker Sam was extremely unprofessional and rude to us and threatened to call the cops on us for talking in the hallway. I made a reservation here as a part of an 11-day long summer class in Fond du Lac. During those 10 nights spent at the hotel, I could not have expected worse. The lady at the front, Judy, is nice enough to let me check in at 7:30 AM instead of 3:00 PM. I had called to make my reservation about a month and a half before, and when I got there, they did not have me on their list. But no worries, Judy solved the problem within 10 minutes as she said there was another girl taking the summer class staying at the hotel who wanted a roommate in order to split the cost. Perfect! I put my bags in my room and some food in the fridge and rushed off to class. When I came back to the hotel around 4 or 5 PM that day, my bags were missing from my room! I looked in the fridge and all my food was still there. I went to the front desk and some lady behind the counter nonchalantly told me that they had moved my bags to another room with a different roommate, without bothering to call or email me. Though a little mad that they touched all my stuff to change the room I was staying in without notifying me or apologizing for the confusion, I was okay. A day later I find out that my original roommate was told that she didn't have a roommate, even though I had checked in at 7:30 AM, before she tried to check in at 3:00 PM. So as of 7:30 AM, she had me as a roommate, but they told her that she didn't. Hm. Things went smoothly for a week, they even offered us cookies in the evenings which was nice after a long day of class. But then we met Sam. Sam the worker was not having it with the college kids taking the summer class staying at the Comfort Inn. One day, five of us had pushed three small tables together in the breakfast room so we could work together in the nighttime. At the end of the night, we had forgotten to put the three small tables back and went off to bed. The next day, there were printed notes on every single table reminding us to put things back the way they were. That same day in the evening, I was in my room but my friends were out studying in the same breakfast room. From the story I heard, Sam comes into the room and slaps this note on the wall that read "PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF I AM NOT YOUR MOTHER!!!!!! THESE ROOMS SHOULD NOT BE LEFT IN THE CONDITION THAT THEY WERE IN LAST NIGHT IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE USING THEM!!!! Thank You." Then, Sam goes to the conference room on the other side of the lobby and talks to the group of students using the room to study and angrily slams the door shut on them. The next day, I wake up to find three receipts printed out and shoved under my door, basically saying that they already charged me for the room and had checked me out even though I told them I needed to stay one more night. I've never encountered that before. That night, I was studying and took a break to go to my room. I walked through the hallway with three of my friends, and we were all talking at a decent volume. Sam emerges from behind the front desk and scolds us for talking in the hallways, saying "There are people sleeping and we can't afford to lose them!" A few minutes later, three other girls from my class walk through the hallway talking, and once again, Sam comes out from behind the front desk and scolds them for talking in the hallway. After one girl said she would keep it down, Sam threatened that she'd call the police on her. We were all just so confused and so offended that she would treat customers this way, and place more importance on the other customers than the 20 college students giving them revenue. Other things people care about: the wifi rarely worked for me, our room had a mini fridge and a microwave, and there was a decent breakfast every morning. Rooms were clean, although they would always throw all the blankets on one bed and make only one bed. One of the students in the hotel found ticks in her room. read more

This is a Comfort Inn not a Baymont Inn. I did submit the changes. I stayed here in mid-Feb 08 and the room we had was very nice. The price was awesome for what we got. The pool and hot tub were clean and warm. They are also open pretty late compared to most hotels I have been too. I would highly recommend this hotel if you need to stay here. Stayed here with my wife and 2 little ones for two nights. Checked in early in room 212. Room had stain beddings and towels. Mis-match dated furniture. Sink was slow draining. No elevator. Had to drag all our luggage up the stairs. Never had towels at swimming pool. Always had to go to front desk to stock it. Alarm clock in room 210 went off at 12am and was never turned off. Went to complain in the middle of night to front desk and said they couldn't do anything about it since they were fully booked. Happen again next night. What a major annoyance since these rooms have connecting doors. You could hear everything your neighbor did. Heavy cleaning employee lady walking up the stairs yelling oh god oh god cause of weight and knee problems. But sounded like someone was getting it on. Breakfast prepare by chef mike. Microwave. Only good thing I got from staying here was the heated pool. Fond du lac are building two new hotels in the city so avoid this hotel once they are open. read more
