This hotel is definitely interesting. Me and my family had our rooms switched twice, due to the first room having dirty sheets and the bed itself having stains, along with that, the refrigerator wouldn't work. Now the second room was better stain wise, some small stains here and there on the actual bed, but the blankets and sheets were clean, but then, my mom noticed something when we were heading off to bed, an insect. She says it's a roach, I personally didn't know whether or not it was a roach, because it was quite small. This hotel gets one star due to the horrible rooms, AND the loud slamming doors and talking through the night. Upstairs smells of marijuana, which management can't but also can control their guests and correcting them. On a better note, the pool was of size and clean. The pool was the only decent thing of this hotel. read more

It's no Ritz, and that's fine--we weren't expecting luxury. For the price, it gets the job done. Room was decent enough, and you mostly get what you pay for. That said, the management could use a little more flexibility when it comes to guest service. Check-out is at 11AM, and when we asked for a late check-out, they gave us until 11:30. Really? Thirty extra minutes? We weren't asking for the moon--just a couple extra hours to get on the road. Not sure why the strict policy, especially considering the place isn't exactly packed to capacity. All in all, not a bad stay--but the hospitality could definitely use a more human touch. read more

Everyone read my feedback please Rating: (1 out of 5) Terrible experience with the hotel's laundry facilities. The only washing machine available to guests stopped working in the middle of a wash cycle. There is another laundry room in the hotel, but the manager refused to let me use it. She showed zero concern and clearly didn't care about the guests at all. The washer and dryer look like they haven't been replaced since World War II -- completely outdated and in awful condition. I had to finish washing my clothes by hand in the bathroom. This level of neglect and indifference is unacceptable. I will not be staying here again and definitely do not recommend this hotel. I also want to add that manager knock my door and if I do not open the door, he open it himself with his card !! What if I was not alone or the girl was in the bathroom, I do not recommend this hotel! When I asked him why he opened my door , he told me that's ok ! read more

I am just here to please make sure you're CAUTIOUS here! Especially with small children and animals. My cat got into a pill that was left on the ground. Again, the owner was no help at all and actually accused me of putting the pill there for my cats to get in to. My poor baby was sick for a few days.. please be careful! I stayed the night on July 13 2024 with my husband and my 10 month old and not once bot twice but three times they tried to open my door in the middle of the night. something seemed so odd. especially with all the trafficking going on so please if you have a child don't go in not even by yourself they also charged my card twice!!! worst experience ever! read more

I wish I had read reviews before I booked a room. Pros: it was great for my dog. Lots of lawn for her to walk on. I found my room to be quiet, even being next to a stairwell. The location was great too. I found the front desk person to be pleasant. Cons: the hallway & room smelled like cigarettes. The bathroom smells like a stinky mop was used. It had that gross smell. Worst shower! Horrible water pressure. The room felt humid. Like the surfaces all felt damp. I also wasn't too happy that the side door didn't stay locked. I stayed here for 3 nights recently and I thought this place was nicer than the other Joliet Comfort Inn by the mall except in 1 area. WI-FI. This place's wifi was horrible. 3 straight nights of no emails, no Netflix, no work, no YELP!!! I'm here for work, I need WIFI. I finally understood 90's rock band Soul Asylum......I too was "Fruuuuuustraaaated Incorporated". Everyone sing along! Ok you get the point about the Wifi. Really besides that 1 bad thing, everything else is good. Large clean rooms, nice breakfast area, indoor pool, small exercise room, and across the parking lot from a solid bar and grill (Heroes West). It's walking distance even in frigid temps and no worries of a DUI. Glad the bar and grill was there since I drink away my misery(I think that's a line from the song too) from not having wifi!!!! Bottom Line: If you need internet don't stay here, if you don't need it do stay here. read more

Be careful of this hotel. They advertise a $20 fee for a pet. We told them we had a pet and they charged us $58 pet charge for one night. As soon as I walked in you can tell that the service is okay. Cookies are out for you to eat as a nice gesture. The rooms are decent sized. I do wish it was not so cramped though. The breakfast was displayed very small. It is next to a nice restroom I ha e been to many times. The smell is bad throughout the halls it smells like smoke and drug use. The pool is a decent size but it does not look like they clean it often. It is a tad bit confusing to get to. Cross country drive, just staying the night. Was decent enough, close to the 80- quick on and off- positive. The bed was bowing in towards the middle like it was very used. Breakfast was fine, basic things you'd expect. The shower in our room the curtain rod was broken and it looked like it was "gooped" to hold for the night. The sink didn't drain until after the water turned off. Would try to find another hotel but since it was just for the night it was fine. read more

Oh my goodness. The Indian manager at the desk tried to call the police on me after I reported money missing from my room (60$). Then proceeded to try and call the police on anyone who asked for ANYTHING or reported anything wrong. I'm not sure why or how he still has a job let alone management position but I will be calling the owner. This was the worse staff I've ever encountered. Just horrible service. They just walk in your room without knocking and act as if they have a Right to do so while people are sleeping. Nothing but theft, rudeness and harassment at this particular location. So sad.... Shut it down and start with a new staff please. read more

Presently staying at this hell hole. Check in to find that the outlets on the lamp aren't working. Call desk. General manager comes up (he's a douche) doesn't offer to replace the lamp, says I get you extension. No, we have a CPAP machine that really shouldn't be plugged into the extension cord. But remember I have a power strip. He gets severely butt hurt because I turn down the extension cord. Fast forward an hour when my mom takes the fufu red thing off the bed to reveal splooge stains in the coverlet. NASTY. Again, call desk. She tells me she will call me back. The manager never even bothers to come look at the nastiness on the bed. She calls back and says they have no clean linen or clean rooms that we need to check out. WHAT THE HELL. I have no where to go and I'm not just giving this pinhead 16k hotel points. He will not refund my points or money. So I had to stay. I threw said nastiness in the hall. Called corporate and they are working on getting my points back. Considering dropping the choice hotel brand completely. This is a joke, every choice hotel I check into is nasty. Done. Laptop stolen from room = "Not our Problem", then 'no place to park'? I made a 3-day, two-room reservation for myself and friends who were racing at the nearby Autobahn Country Club racetrack over the August 10/11 2015 weekend. When I made my reservation I called first to make sure that I could park a small trailer I was towing - on the hotel lot. I was told "no problem, there's always plenty of room." When I made my online reservation 2 months ahead of time, I also included a note in the 'additional requests' section - indicating that I would need parking for the same small trailer. When the week of my reservation came up -- I again called the front desk of this Comfort Inn location to again, make sure I'd have a place to park my vehicle and small trailer. I arrived in the early evening, to find the parking lot COMPLETELY full with 20+ RailRoad Service trucks taking all of the lot space. When I questioned the front desk about the parking issue they were unfriendly, dismissive, and said "the trucks filling our lot have been parking here for over a month now." When I suggested that the person who I spoke with on the phone, specifically about parking accommodations two days earlier should have known that (if they'd been there for a month) I was treated like dirt. There only solution was to leave my valuable trailer parked on a dark side street across from a local night club? After an overnight stay that was highlighted by drunk railroad workers partying in the hotel parking lot till nearly midnight...I left the Comfort Inn for my first day at the local track. Upon returning to to my 'Comfort' Inn room I found my backpack, containing a laptop and other valuables - missing from the room, with Comfort Inn housekeeping, the only one's in the room while I was away. No one else had a door key card. The desk personnel responded with a curt "not our problem / we're not responsible" -- and offered absolutely nothing in the way of follow-up or even an offer to look into it. This all boils down to POOR LOCAL MANAGEMENT from a chain where I've had decent experiences in the past. The desk personnel we're clueless, defensive and provided little 'comfort' not to mention even primary competence in dealing with customer service issues. Will never give this chain my money again. I just made a hotel reservation for another race event that's coming up and chose one of Comfort Inn's competitors instead. read more

Our stay at this hotel was satisfactory. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was generous, with fresh hot and cold options. The pool is also clean and super fun for kids. There's an exercise room too, which is modest but functional. There's a great sports bar across the parking lot. read more

2nd floor room was large, nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was your typical Choice Hotel fare.... Waffles, sausage microwaved eggs (yuck), cereal, bread to toast and frozen muffins. Nothing to write home about! Some fresh local donuts/pastries would be a welcome dight! I used to work at a chain motel that dud breakfast and the local donuts and fresh bagels pleased everyone. Slept two nights, OK beds, decent sheets, low water pressure, stuffy room, clean for the most part, very basic room with generic frozen breakfast. Microwaved egg pattys, cold preboiled eggs, microwaved "sausage" links, cereal, rockhard pastries, waffles & OJ. AMAZING RESTAURANT NEXT DOOR!!! Try the crinkle cut sweet potato fries!!! Stayed two nights booked via Booking.com. Checked in at guest services and was told by Cory that we way overpaid! She advised us that if we would have booked at the desk we could have booked for $89.00 a night VS $113.48 through booking.com. My husband asked if he canceled could we book at the desk and get the discount seeing how we are booking for 46 days for work. Cory says there will be a penalty fee with booking.com & advised us to call them before cancelling. My husband checks in and we get to the room, call booking.com and They advise us that they were going to call hotel to "ask permission to cancel our booking". I hear the CSR call Cory on another phone, Cory declines our cancellation. I being confused asked to call booking.com back. The CSR says Comfort Inn won't ?agree to cancel the 46 days and will charge us an extra $99.00 per night penalty if we do infact cancel. Mad I hang up & call Cory at the 8front desk. Cory (NOT knowing I could hear her previous conversation ) advises me that booking.com has already been paid commission for our stay and the owner/manager is refusing to let me cancel my stay regaurdless that I just want rebook my stay. By this time we are just appalled that our hotel is screwing us out of Almost $400 and blaming it on booking.com, Cory finally fessed up with me on the phone saying Manager gets extra money. that's all we needed to hear. I called booking.com Demanded to cancel transaction and paid an extra $99 to cancel. Called 20 hotels and found one for $71 @ 4stars! We will see tomorrow how the new hotel is... Manager now is saying he will do $89 a night with $20 a night pet fee... puts us at the amount we already paid. UMMM No. Being a hard ass just cost them 46 nights of stay! read more

Stayed there for a few nights. Interaction with staff was brief but those at the front desk often were disinterested in their work and unhelpful. Also was charged extra for a roll-away bed, with no mention of the charges when the roll-away was reserved or confirmed at the front desk. The charges were not invoiced on our bill, the extra charges were made after we checked out to our credit card that was on file for 'incidentals.' Attempting to dispute the charges with the hotel resulted in the GM dismissing our claim. Overall terrible experience with this hotel, and will not be back. read more

CONFORT INN (FRIGHT NIGHT!!) I recently stayed 3 nights, my wife 2 grandsons and myself. First night good, second night was a very dangerous encounter. Friday night just after midnight we were awaken when intruders open the door to my room. The only thing that kept them from full entry is the fact that before going to sleep I put the safety latch on the hotel door, thank god. As the door opens I yelled out what the hell is going on/someone is in here. I got out of bed went to close the door and I look through the peep hole and saw two intruders going down the hallway. I go down stairs to speak with the desk clerk, explaining that intruders tried to enter my room, as my family were sleeping and the fact that if I had a gun I would shot through the hotel door to protect my family. The desk clerk apologize saying he accidently re-rented my room to some else. I express the fact that somebody could gotten shot or killed for illegal entry, and my family was put in a dangerous situation,. i told the clerk I wanted to speak to the manager or owner some time Saturday to review the tape monitor to see what or who was involved, I'm thinking maybe it wasn't an accident. Next day after discussing my incident with manager he expresses no concern whatever. Again I express to the manager he should review the tape and let me know something. Later that day he says he didn't see anything on tape. read more

We had a room on the second floor and the entire floor reaked of smoke. All the rooms had no smoking signs on them so I'm not sure why it smelled so bad. In our room there were ants crawling on both of the end tables. Then to top it all off I saw an ant crawling on the breakfast bar. Breakfast was yogurt, egg discs, grits, biscuits (I tried to eat a biscuit and it was so mushy I couldn't finish), make your own waffle, few pieces of fruit...my leftover pizza from the night before saved me. read more

One person had to check out a day early and notified front desk at 6 AM but was billed anyway because of "24-hour notice required". Three calls to hotel and manager never bothered to return a call.
