MY TWO CATS HAD EATEN HALF A PILL FOUND IN FLOOR Hotel manager is absolutely rude and didn't care at all. please be careful everyone. the whole place was dirty as well. my main concern is the pill eaten by my cat. if this can save someone from the emotional anxiety we have had to go through and/or save a small child thank God. please please please beware

I have to give an early review. We haven't checked out yet but the experience so far has been super great. So let me set this up. We came into town because of some immediate and unexpected business that came up. So this was a last minute trip, and we've never stayed in Joliet before. All I know about Joliet is from my childhood, so I was curious as to how this would work for us aside from cutting our drive time down a bit. Well I have to say, I am impressed and will likely stay in Joliet again. And...in this vicinity; near Joliet Junior College. There are other places of hospitality in the area along with local eateries and gas...everything truly is right here at your disposal. But!!! when it comes to how the Hampton Inn has served us up...the service has been tremendously welcoming and energizing. We all know that last minute travel for business is no fun. But when I tell you every staff person we encountered has met us with such energy it was like we were being greeted with song, and every shift change had another staff person singing the same song. I can tell you this...during long weeks and unexpected business needs if the hospitality team is going to greet me with songs of energy and welcome, I'm coming back. This location offered complimentary muffins and fresh fruit for breakfast. They even had some bagged up for folks who were hurrying out of the door. On top of that, what I understood was, if I asked for yogurt or boiled eggs they'd provide it. They also offered all day coffee and teas, fresh fruit and individual bottled water and microwave popcorn. Now, because of the pandemic, housekeeping is limited on being in your space during your stay but we were only gonna be in town for two nights, so that was no big deal for us. Besides, everything was fully stocked so there was no need for additional toiletries or towels. I am so glad we stayed here...and I encourage you to do the same. Thanks to Jess, Michelle, Rosalee!! You guys are the beat. Ummm...and Ms Nina, these ladies need a raise! There amazing!!!

They have a Dog the Bounty Hunter rubber duckie in my room.

I've made several reviews of Hilton affiliated hotels because I stay in them for work and well as my personal travels. I stay in Hampton's more often than not because I find them to usually be decently priced and quite consistent. This location was 139.00 per night which is higher than I usually pay for Hampton's. I arrived 4 hours before check-in and the lady behind the desk was very friendly with allowing me to check in so early. Thank God because it was -18 with the wind chill. My room was what you'd expect from a Hampton; comfy big bed, flat screen tv, desk area, sofa and great wifi reception. The place seems to be an older hotel from another brand that Hampton took over. I'm not sure this is the case just get that feel. There is an indoor heated pool, a workout room and a free hot breakfast in the morning. There were no bananas though. GRRRRR. The staff is really friendly but the price is really too high when compared to other hotels in the area.

Pros: Nice pool; a Cracker Barrel and McDonald's are within spittin' distance. Cons: - The maid service did not replace the coffee packets every day--this is a major problem when you travel for business! Sometimes, the ONLY coffee you get comes from the in-room coffee maker. Deduct 2 stars! - The hotel is within a few yards of I-80, so if your room faces the highway, you will hear the traffic all night. Deduct another star! - The night Check-In staff is completely inept. She had me confirmed for 1 night--but I was staying for 4 nights! She had me in a double Queen-bed room--but I confirmed a single King-bed room. Her response: Let's see if you can switch with one of your friends. Deduct another star! - The "free" hot breakfast was decent and the hotel is well maintained. Add 1 star! Overall, if you need to stay near Joliet, I would choose the TownePlace Suites next door. They are much better.

Things to love: Soft fluffy towels; Stepford Wives level happy staff (I mean this in a good way!); back stairwell carpeted, wide, and well lit; Neutrogena amenities, cute rubber duck, clean rooms, comfy bed, clean gym. Wish the gym was bigger but I never had to wait so really can't complain.

Bed bug on my pillow! They captured the bug and offered to move me to a new room. Also offered to heat all my belongings. Staff was courteous but this is hard to overcome.

Hotel is clean and beds are comfortable. The staff is also very hospitable. Also, Hampton is misspelled on the review name.

Here are a few staff members I'd like to highlight that were absolute champs during our event. Anthony - this man was everywhere!!! From responding to urgent text messages asking for HVAC adjustments, to vacuuming the floor himself, to placing salad plates on the tables. Anthony was a huge help and consistently professional and reliable during our 2 days. It was a great pleasure to work with him. Karina - she was part of the serving/kitchen staff. Apologies for not remembering her title, but she was wonderful. It was evident that she took pride in her work and in getting things right. She was always on the move making appropriate adjustments and was always open and happy to take questions and/or requests with professionalism and grace. 2 Small negative comments 1. Conference room cleanliness - the conference floor/carpet needed to be vacuumed. NOTE: there was an event right before ours, but the made a bit of a mess on the floor and it looked a little unkept. Anthony himself did a lot of vacuuming for us to help clean up the main room. 2. HVAC - in the smaller meeting rooms, the HVAC was really loud and difficult to hear speakers over the noise. It also seemed difficult to get the air to those rooms turned off so the noise would stop during the speaker's time. Anthony did try multiple times to help in this area. The hotel stay was also pleasant - the room was clean and up-to-date. The gym was HUGE and had great equipment - weights and cardio machines facing the beautiful scenery outside. The outside of the hotel was also beautiful - a little pond and gas fire pit that's turned on in the evenings. The hotel restaurant was also wonderful - great food! And since our event used the in-house food, the food provided for our event was similar quality to what was served in the hotel restaurant. It was delicious! The lobby is actually pretty cozy when you walk in and they have a separate breakfast room with a daily menu posted for guests. I personally didn't try the breakfast during my stay, but it was a nice touch. They also have a pool, laundry machines available ($2 each, quarter style), products available for purchase in the laundry area, a snack/drink machine, and an ice maker. No fitness center though, so keep that in mind if that matters to you. There is also a $100 deposit required. One thing I do think people should know beforehand: the hotel uses well water. Some people may not care, but I definitely noticed it, especially in the shower and sink water. If you're a Diamond Select Rewards member they give you complimentary bottled water, which I appreciated. Staff was pleasant enough -- no issues, but nothing super memorable either lol. One thing I did find odd was the strict "no outside guests" rule. Parking is in the back and there's PLENTY of it, which was nice. My room itself was clean and the furniture wasn't in bad shape at all. Room came with a microwave, refrigerator, work desk, and a decent-sized 55" TV. Now for the downsides: the walls are EXTREMELY thin and there's a huge gap under the room doors, so you hear EVERYTHING. If you're a light sleeper, I honestly would not recommend staying here because it was busy and noisy even during the week. The bathtub is also very small, definitely not ideal if you enjoy soaking, and the shower curtain looked like it had seen better days. The towels were also pretty small and cheap feeling. Overall though, if you're in town on a budget, don't plan on spending a ton of time in the room, and just need somewhere convenient to stay, it gets the job done. Plus it's not far from the casino and several food spots.

I stayed 4 nights (close to $600) and had to extend my room for one more night due to an evening flight. I rebooked online and was hit with an unexpected $30 charge. When I asked for an explanation, the manager, Roy Patel, could not provide any written policy to justify the fee. I don't mind paying for good service, but this felt like unnecessary penny-pinching. Customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. For a brand that prides itself on hospitality, this was disappointing. Our company books hotels regularly for multiple road crews and spends thousands weekly. After this experience, we'll be taking our business elsewhere and advising our network to do the same. Transparency and customer service matter--sadly, this location failed on both.

She says it's a roach, I personally didn't know whether or not it was a roach, because it was quite small. This hotel gets one star due to the horrible rooms, AND the loud slamming doors and talking through the night. Upstairs smells of marijuana, which management can't but also can control their guests and correcting them. On a better note, the pool was of size and clean. That said, the management could use a little more flexibility when it comes to guest service. Check-out is at 11AM, and when we asked for a late check-out, they gave us until 11:30. Really? Thirty extra minutes? We weren't asking for the moon--just a couple extra hours to get on the road. Not sure why the strict policy, especially considering the place isn't exactly packed to capacity. All in all, not a bad stay--but the hospitality could definitely use a more human touch.
