Decent, no frills motel near MGM casino and the National Harbor. It's a much cheaper alternative to staying at the casino and it's only 1 mile away (3-5 min drive). The room was cleanish, looked like some sheets needed better washing or replacement but we were just there to shower and sleep so it served its purpose. Our room smells like pee. The carpet in the hallway also stinks, and you can tell the carpets are very dirty and dusty. I also don't like the area I felt unsafe. They only have 1 elevator. Also, the door to our hotel room is not secure. It doesn't close properly and can be easily opened by sliding a card through the gap. This is a serious safety and security concern. read more

Two employees have told me that they are not approving of service dogs... And ask for a whole bunch of documents and paperwork which are actually illegal to ask... I brought my Service Dog and I took it out once for a walk and I heard about it... They were never seen outside of my room otherwise And the refrigerator is not cold enough the tub faucet works badly they don't have a toilet brush to clean the toilet it's just shabby and not well maintained... Check in was very pleasant. The elevator smells of cat pee. The hallways smell musty like mildew. My room has greasy fingerprints on the bathroom door. There was long black strands of hair on both beds, I have silver Grey hair so not mine. I go down for breakfadt.As soon as I get off the elevator in the lobby I hear screaming its the breakfast attendant and a guest having the loudest conversation with many curse words involved. The security guard sitting watching his tablet does nothing. Yes this location has an on-site armed security guard. That is a first for me and I travel frequently for work and have never seen an armed guard before. read more

I've never felt as much pressure from Yelp's "Do you recommend this business?" question as much as I do right now. I guess the answer to that depends entirely upon what you are looking for in a hotel. In just one night, we experienced a plumbing leak turned flood in the lobby, an out of order elevator (temporarily), and a crack pipe in the parking lot. All of that, I can live with. Tiny hairs in my "clean" bed, I cannot. I also cleaned some crud off the walls of my room since someone else was too lazy to. And there were lots more tiny stains on the walls but I wasn't hired for this. I would clean my room to get my $366 for two nights back. I think the price was high since one night included New Years Eve. Despite its dodgy location, this place has a LOT of potential....but someone needs to manage the room cleanliness. I was only able to get replacement sheets because I ran into the manager while they were dealing with water coming out of the ceiling in the breakfast area. I got the feeling that was not the first time it's happened. Oh yeah, Pros: free parking, National Harbor, MGM casino and Topgolf all within a mile or two radius. The comfort Inn in Oxon Hill Maryland do not book there!! we pick this hotel as another option for our family reunion hotel. it was a big mistake! when you enter the hotel it smell like a dog kennel. The elevator smell of urine and mold. The lobby furniture was spotted and the carpets were dirty. The carpets in the room was dirty and the room had a smell of dust. The showers had mold in the corners. I would not recommend this hotel to my worse enemy!! They definitely need to renovate immediately! read more

First off, the hotel is under construction, which wasn't disclosed at the time of booking. It is not the best location. And very sketchy clientele. The morning breakfast left everything to be desired. Bagels. Muffins. Scary eggs and sausage. Cereal. Yogurt. But the coffee was good. I don't know if pot is legal here but up and down the hallways you smell it. And I thought this was a non-smoking hotel. The AC is extremely loud and cold, then shuts off, this pattern repeats constantly. All night long. The best parts of the stay were the morning front desk lady who was super sweet, the man who drives the hotel bus to the convention, and the housekeepers. All very nice people. read more

Bad bad bad comfort inn. Booked through choice app and didn't do our homework because we've always had great luck with choice. This is a bad confront in. Extremely small bathrooms and rooms. Rooms need a lot of tlc. Wedges left from last repairs, dressers chipped and boards placed under them to level them. Filthy window blinds, small TVs, poor construction quality, dirty bathroom fans. Staff is below average, they didn't do anything egregious just not great. Obvious drug use on the 3rd floor. Noises are heard in all directions in the rooms, extremely thin walls. Very sketch clientele; makes you feel uncomfortable. We're only staying for a night so we'll make due but if we were here multiple we would leave and find somewhere else. Will definitely consider this place my next trip to DC (although it's pretty far from DC) this place was super close to the Gaylord convention center and even offered free shuttles to and from. Was a quick $7-$10 Uber to get back to the hotel for any quick changes. Front Desk: polite and efficient- usually only one or two so patience is required at times- even updated my receipt at check out with my company's name for concur expense report. Breakfast: more than your standard cereal and muffin. They had eggs, sausage, make your own waffle machine, and a variety of other stuff. Room: Super clean room, I always check the beds and everything looked perfect. Not sure if I was just tired from the convention, but I found the beds super comfy and they had 4 soft pillows on each bed. No issues with lamps, TVs, showers, blow dryers. Upon arrival, the painting/construction outside of the hotel was a bit scary looking to be honest. However, in the end everything was fine. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this place... I was in town for work and was to stay here for a little less than a week. When you walk in the door everything looks dingy and it smells like a public restroom in the entire hotel. We got to our room and noticed there were stains on the linens and the curtains and that the AC was also filthy with who-knows-what. The room and everything in it felt cold and damp and I could not even comfortably sit in there, let alone sleep there. I checked for a new room with the front desk to no avail and the concierge offered me some blankets to sleep on instead and said she'd have the linens changed and AC vent cleaned the next day. I have been traveling for 8 years now working up and down east coast and this is one of the worst hotels I stayed at. Me and 3 others from my company stayed here last week, 5/13 thru 5/16 2024. The staff was unfriendly as he'll, there were people living there, up and down hallways being load all through the night. The smell in all 4 rooms was terrible, it was like stinky socks and no amount of air fresher helped I tried. The breakfast was a joke, there was nothing but sausage patties which looked like the same w ones all week and wrapped up white bread. Someone puked in front of front door in the middle of the night and it was still there through out the next morning, I heard lady at desk arguing with someone on phone that she wasn't cleaning it up. The place was totally disgusting and I will never stay there again. I had my company black list this place. Don't believe any of the good reviews they are all lies. I had a job interview to go to in D.C. When I arrive, Janet took care of me and gave me my room key. Once past the reception area and on my way to my room, everything went down hill. There are stain in the carpets, smelly odors in the hallway, and the smell of someone smoking. I went to my room and it had a weird lay out. The sink for the bathroom was outside of the bathroom and in our room. The iron board and rust and other stains on it. The toilet was chipped and old. I had to sleep in a room where the A.C had two options which is Cold and noisy or Off. The chair was ripped apart. The room stinks. I thought at least the bed would be fine. Nope! My entire back and sides ache when I had to get up in the morning the next day with a side of the fire alarm being pulled for a minute and had to call the front desk when it stop if everything was okay. My second and last night there, I ask for a blanket and was told that she would call me when she knows if she had any. I had to call back to ask about the blanket. She said she had one and to come downstairs and get it. I went downstairs in my pjs around 10:00pm and saw that she and her other co workers were talking to one other person. Do Not be fooled by the free breakfast, they only have good toast and that it. Everything else is questionable. read more

I gave it two stars because of its location and for the price. It's close to National Harbor which is a plus...now the negatives. 1) it look like it got stuck back in time..like the 70's 2) they try to mask the cigarette smoke smell with some cheap air freshener...doesn't work! 3) the room are ok...linens were clean, bathroom is really small, shower head was busted and sprayed everywhere, tv too small for the room 4) exercise room is a joke...you need to go to the front desk to get a separate key card to get in...then when you do, the treadmill is like 10 years old, the weight equipment is a universal gym that looks like something I used in high school back in the 80's...just all around horrible! Dirty too..... 5) Hot Breakfast...that's a joke too! Food has zero taste, sausages were like rubber, yogurt was some generic brand and was like water...I would've had breakfast somewhere else but that's the other downfall of this place, nothing really within walking distance. 6) some of the clientele that is in there looks a bit shady...wasn't all that comfortable Positives...they offer a complimentary shuttle to and from the Gaylord... This is the worst place I've ever stayed in 40 years of traveling for business and pleasure. Had to change rooms twice in 3 days for reasons including shower with no hot water, phone with no dial tone, bedside lamp not working at all, smoke detector that never got a replacement battery, etc. Others in our group said they experienced a shower that just dribbled, hair dryer that fell apart, and a bathtub spigot that came off completely causing water to spray uncontrollably. The one and only elevator was iffy for 2 days, and on the third day didn't work at all in the morning. This for a group of 50 senior citizens who were assigned on the 4th and 5th floors. I stayed here for 3 nights using my employee discount from another comfort inn and I was pleasantly surprised. Much better than the hotel I work at. The bed was extremely comfortable and room was very clean. Furniture looked brand new as well, no stains on the chair or chipped wood on the desks, great working heater/ac and fridge. The staff was very friendly especially front desk Cecilia and the morning woman (I forgot her name) as well as breakfast staff and housekeeping. The only con i can say is the bathroom door in our room wouldn't shut but I'm sure that's an easy fix from maintenance. It didn't bother me too much. Oh what to say... I guess let me start with the hotel. It was clean. The service was very friendly. The bed was even comfortable... which I was not really expecting. On the downside, I couldn't get into the gym with my key card, the carpet was ripped up in some places in my room, the batteries in my TV remote were pretty much dead, and the walls may as well have been made of paper. I think I was listening to convos from 2 rooms over! Really, its the neighborhood that kills this rating. Over all the hotel experience was nice... nothing spectacular but that what you expect at the Comfort Inn. But, as an example, there were guards at the grocery store next door. Guards! For groceries! Do not stay here. I got bedbugs bites. I reported to the hotel and spoke to the manager. In which he was nonchalant about the situation. Tried to point blame elsewhere like my flight..I shook me clothes and a dead bed bug fell out. that was my confirmation. However the manager told me to got to Urgent Care. The hotel itself was nice, clean, & neat. However, the service was terrible. 1st off the guy at the front desk was sloppily dressed (shirt unbuttoned, tie half tied, pants unbuttoned & falling). We got there a little after check-in time & still had to wait about 20 minutes to check-in. Then the keys we received didn't work. We were told that it was because we kept it near our phone, but there were about 4 other people at the desk with the same problem. This experience was absolutely terrible -- Do NOT stay at this hotel!! Upon check-in, I was ignored for almost 15 minutes (even though I was the only one there) before I was acknowledged and assisted with check-in. When I got to the room, I was presented with the smell of mold, cigarettes (even though it was a 'non-smoking' room), several dead bugs in the bathroom, and sheets that had questionable marks on them. Because I checked in later in the evening and had nowhere to go, I stayed the night. When I woke up in the morning, there was no running water. Instead of the hotel offering a concession or some sort of credit, the General Manager himself told him it was 'not his problem' and he did not owe me a refund (not for the lack of running water, or the disgusting room). He refused to provide me with contact information for his boss or another individual that was able to assist me. read more

The hotel itself is not as modern as I typically like, but the staff is the absolute BEST staff I have ever interacted with, in a hotel. The housekeeping staff, the front desk staff, the security, every single person working at this hotel is full of kindness and willing to help. The hotel was clean, our room temperature was perfect, The continental breakfast had a waffle machine which was a huge hit with my kids. There is a cute outdoor pool that unfortunately we didn't get to use because it rained the whole time we were here. The elevator is slow. :) If you are looking for an all white modern hotel, this is not it. If you're looking for amazing service and cleanliness, this is the spot. read more

Worst Comfort Inn I have stayed in, and I try to stay in them all the time so I have a base on which to compare. I assume if it's a Comfort Inn it will be policed by the Choice Hotel people to ensure it meets uniform standards. To start, they didn't have my reservation for a king room, only a double. I reserved using points, and showed them my confirmation. We got that sorted out and we were given a handicap room (#107). The room was extremely humid and didn't dry out overnight, even though the a/c was running and should have dried the room. bathroom floor was damp and tacky the whole time we were there (just one night thankfully). The bathroom exhaust fan was partly hanging out; didn't notice until I took a shower in the AM. The wi-fi sucks, to say the least. Constantly dropping due to weak signal in the room, and also in the breakfast room (although not as bad there). Gallon milk containers left on the breakfast room counter...nice classy touch. On a positive note, the staff was courteous and tried to be helpful, so no black marks on them (except for the breakfast room staff leaving the milk containers out). It's an old property and shows it, but no excuses for these deficiencies. Choice Hotels should reconsider allowing it to use the Comfort Inn name. read more

This was an awful stay and will not likely stay here again. Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for Big Night DC at the Gaylord. We knew the hotel would be going through some renovation but I didn't think I would experience bad service and a room that smelled like weed. There was no real attempt to accommodate us whatsoever. When you stay at a room you would hope to get better service than this regardless of it being an inn. Staying at the Westin or Gaylord would've cost $60 more but for this experience I would gladly pay the extra money. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This place is extremely dirty and unsafe. When we checked in the employee at the front desk never once looked away from her phone while we checked in. Never once made eye contact with us. Never cracked a smile. And she acted irritated when she had to get up to get our check-in papers. I was blown away by how rude and unwelcoming she was. If we hadnt of driven all evening with two cranky kids we would have left right then. When we arrived to our floor there was a strong marajuana smell. I had to walk my two kids through a cloud. We told the front desk and they said they would "look into it". About 15 ministers after we arrived there were bloodcurdling screams from the hallway. Sounded like a small child yelling "no mommy no" over and over. Also was a lot of banging in the hallway while we heard the screams. This was very concerning so we called the front desk again. They stated they would send security up. About 30 mins later it happened again and the actual police showed up. There was so much commotion during this situation. We immediately packed our things and left. After getting a full refund. This place is ghetto. The people are sketchy. There is obviously drug activity to occurs here. It's not safe. Stayed there for four days, at first it was awesome, nice room, nice view, pool was cool, but that night we had found a Bed Bug in our room, we killed it, took pictures, called them. They moved us to another room, fifth foor middle of the night. Bathtub stopped up, fire alarm didn't even have batteries, it smelled, everything was just dirty, bed spread and all. They gave us a refund, said sorry, which was understandable, then the next day said that it wasn't a bed bugs and there weren't any, even though two emploees came to our room and both agreed it was in fact a bed bug the night before, they even took back our refund and laughed when shown a comparison picture. They had brought a dog to smell them out, but they arent always right (googled it) so we were like okay, thats fine.what even ever. The later that night we saw while walking up stairs, on the fourth floor, a room door was open, carpet ripped up, beds against the wall. Then later went back to see if they were doing like remodeling and come to find the door shut and numbers were off of the door. Very suspicious... Also, note, three huge buses came with kids who basically filled the hotel. They wanted to keep this hushed and call us liars but a five of us came home with bed bug bites all over our bodies, now tell me thats not bed bugs again... The emplyees are ignorant and overall we had the worst experence there by far. Won't ever stay there again, and I reccomend you do the same. read more

I wish I was able to leave 0 stars. I checked into the Comfort Inn this past Saturday. I lifted the sheet off the bed to look for my phone. However, I found a meth pipe and signs of Bed Bugs. The first signs of Bed Bugs are blood stains. If you stay here, please look at the mattress or box spring to see if you find any red stains. If you do, go to the front desk and request a refund and leave! They had someone check the room. Then, I received a full refund and went across the street to Haborside Hotel. I arrived at the Comfort Inn in Oxon Hill Maryland, Sunday 9pm on 1/29/17. I just got to the room to settle down. Wasn't in the room for more than FIVE minutes . I went to use the bathroom, as I was going to wash my hands there was a ROACH in the sink. A huge roach at that and a little baby one which ran away . Me and my cousins went to the front desk asap to inform the front desk lady . She was very nice , I won't take that from them. Very friendly and she understood. She gave us another room, which was upstairs room 200. We literally just checked out 20 minutes ago ( 1/30/17 11:00am) and my cousin noticed another roach in the tub !!!!! A totally different room. The staff is friendly but the hotel is dirty and needs a exterminator . I will never stay here again or recommend anyone to stay here . Roaches!! Roaches !! My family and I had a very bad experience at this motel. There were cockroaches roaming around the room. The workers were very rude and tried to brush you off. The life guard at the pool was VERY disrespectful towards me and my family, she was accusing our kids of being "dangerous" when they were just swimming around. Leaning over them like they were a serious threat for doing nothing. You can't even bring a water bottle to the pool in the hot blazing sun, or food. The food there was horrible, I found a hair on my bagel. And to top it all off, there was a homeless lady walking around butt naked trying to get into peoples rooms including mines. Thankfully my family was there to stop that from happening. Which made me question, "what was the front desk staff member doing for this lady to come in?". She obviously was doing a very bad job if she couldn't even hear someone creeping into the motel. The hotel itself has nice beds and the rooms are clean. I go there maybe once a month to sleep over. The problem I had was that my vehicle was broken into. When I thought about it it may have been an inside job because there wasn't any security guards on duty that night. (1/18) The items that were stolen were clothing and other minor possessions that I can replace myself. My concern was when I asked the front desk attendant to check the security cameras she refused. I'm somewhat heartbroken because they present themselves as being kind and friendly but then become standoffish when something urgent happens. My family and I spent the weekend at the Comfort Inn on Oxon Hill Rd in MD for my graduation. My partner and I decided to stay there an extra night due to touring D.C. Overall, the room and service was average for the money; HOWEVER, they illustrated their true colors when my car was broken into on Sunday night, July 17th. When reporting it to the front desk, I was told to call the police, which I did, only to be told, by the police, they will not come out to make a report. The front desk gave me a number to call, which I did, but I had to leave a message. Several attempts were made to contact this individual and my phone calls were NEVER returned. On Thursday, July 21st, my partner received a phone call stating one of my stolen items were found on the hotel grounds and I will be REQUIRED to give MY credit card number in order to get this item back. When I called the Comfort Inn to make arrangements, on getting this item back, I asked them to send it COD, which they REFUSED. I told them, after speaking to their P.O., they would be reimbursed by the P.O. once the funds were received my me. They said a credit card number is REQUIRED because I WAS RESPONSIBLE on paying for postage. I asked the condition of this item, they could not OR would not tell me. Upon speaking to the GM, I asked where the item was found and she replied, "by my car" according to the security footage, which is a down out lie; their was nothing around my car, which they should know, because I SAW THE SECURITY FOOTAGE!!!!!! The GM said my item was not stolen and accused me of placing the item next to my car, which is another lie! I told her if that were the case, then why was my car ransacked and where are the other items that were stolen from the trunk of my car!!!!!!!! What few items I had were secure in MY TRUNK, in MY CAR, AND MY CAR WAS LOCKED!!!! I do not appreciate being lied to nor do I appreciate being treated like a fool nor do I appreciate my intelligence insulted!!!!!! I do not appreciate the lack of compassion and being accused of "misplacing" my own item. By telling me my item was not stolen and telling me I was the one that set the item next to my car, illustrates, in my opinion, the GM was covering for someone. I was going to head back to this hotel in the future, but, after how they treated me in addressing this situation, I have no intentions of returning. They did not make any attempt to reach out and they did not show any compassion to rectify this situation. I recommend others on giving it a second thought staying there especially since no compassion was shown or work with me to rectify this situation; make sure your car and valuables will be safe. read more
