I visited the MGM National Harbor two weekends in a row, once just for fun, and once for a stay/spa/soiree. It's definitely a good time! The parking is very easy and accessible to the casino. The stores are fun and the restaurants look great. The atrium is beautiful and I was lucky enough that it was Lunar New Year themed when I visited. The rooms are quite nice and very clean, plus they are spacious. Bed is comfortable and the shower is great. Climate control worked well. It was an enjoyable stay and I would stay here again. The spa was fine, but more on that under separate cover. For food, I ate at the National Market (food court), from both Zizi's Pizza and Noodle Bar, both of which were fine, and I'd eat at again. I also ate at the Bellagio Patisserie, which was good--I liked my flatbread and latte for breakfast, along with my dessert. Room service was enjoyable, as I ordered a very delicious chicken tender and tots meal. I'm not a casino person but I do enjoy walking through one and MGM has a fun vibe. I was hoping to try Blossom during one visit, but it did not open in time. We had drinks in the lobby bar, which is well-appointed and lively with delicious cocktails and great service. We also had drinks at Osteria Costa, but service was not great. The website/app leaves much to be desired. I could not find all needed information and opening times for restaurants and stores were incorrect, which is bewildering and causes one to wonder what else management is overlooking. Sleek without feeling cold. It gives the whole place a real destination feel instead of just a room full of machines. The baccarat setup stood out. Lots of tables. Good weekend energy. It felt active without feeling impossible to get into. The mixed table games gave the floor more range too. Enough variety to wander. Enough action to keep the room alive. Very casino main character. Very "one more hand" behavior. The slot machines were strong. Plenty of options. Bright screens. Good variety. Easy to get pulled into a section and lose track of time. They had that modern casino pull where the machines feel like little video games with rent due. Fun. Loud. Addictive in the expected way. The food area was decent. Convenient more than special. It handled the need. Grab something. Reset. Get back to the floor. Nothing that stole the show but enough to keep the night moving. Parking is huge. First-time confusing though. The size is helpful once you understand it. But pulling in for the first time had that "where exactly am I supposed to go" moment. A few more mental breadcrumbs would help. We were in Annandale, VA and I realized MGM wasn't too far away. Dad loves gambling, so I decided to take him here. He could play slots while I hung out at the Sportsbook. Drinks there were as expected. I got a Jameson for $13 and I believe a Glenfiddich 12 or something similar for $16. No tax on both drinks. I easily found a seat a plush seat and spent a good 3+ hours here. Afterwards, I decided to try my luck at the tables. Found a blackjack table. I believe the min was $15? I started by playing obe hand and almost lost it all. Decided to start playing two and almost won a good amount back. I did order a diet coke when here, but it never came. Since we all only had one meal that day, we hit up the only open place - Bread + Butter. Not much selection and a pretty far walk from the casino. We stayed in the corner suite. the room had a double sink and double shower. THAT was amazing!!!!! everything about the room was great exceptthe room was NOT blackout at all. we have a toddler and that was a little concerning because iykyk. the restaurants are NOT open 7 days a week. most of them were closed on multiple weekdays that we were there. the coffee on site is so trash! we had to get starbucks from the outlet nearby. the pool was also almost always empty or near empty and they was really great. however let it be known that you cannot eat or bring any food onto the premises near the pool. the website states otherwise and we spoke to the front desk and the manager and they said they have since changed the rules. so be aware. we have kids and that was tough especially, again IYKYK. may return again, may not. read more

Since the MGM at the National Harbor was built, I can count on one hand how many times I've visited. I'm not a gambler, so the casino never really appealed to me. On the most recent visit, we were attending a comedy show in the theater. The theater is lovely. Almost all of the seats are great to view the stage. The staff were all helpful and we had a great time. MGM also has a few restaurants to dine at, along with a food court. A few stores are open to help pass the time away, but the main attraction is the casino. Lights flashing, machines sounding, and drinks flowing. It looked like a fun time! The main atrium is always decorated so lovely. I can imagine how it's decorated during the holidays. The fact that they have free parking in the garage is a welcomed perk! MGM gives me vibes of the MGM located in Vegas, but on a smaller scale. It's a great tourist attraction and a nice getaway if you live in the area. read more

I love the MGM , however it's starting to attract and keep a younger unruly crowd, Saturday's are crazy here. I just left this place last night ....there was so much music blasting in the parking garage it was ridiculous. Where is security when you need them. Loud young girls yelling and twerking as if this was a club parking lot. It's beginning to be a turn off - - - on a positive note, I'm glad they have metal detectors now, but for some reason they can't seem to keep the entry line down, which is frustrating. Also, Cashier line was backed all the way down past Felt lounge. I think this casino is going to fall off if they don't get control of that parking lot. There's already been a few incidents there. MGM please step up your security outside. Everyone doesn't want to deal with the riff raft. read more

My husband and I came here due to having a room comped for the betting we do in BetMGM. Let me start by saying the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Asian decor filled the lobby and halls with unique architecture designs and statues. The lobby, food court and casinos were VERY clean , you can tell they take pride in the upkeep for this place. My only complaint and reason for 4 stars is the actual hotel rooms themselves. Very nice/modern but plain atmosphere. There was a see-through curtain that separated the bathroom from the bedroom which was a bit odd. It seems very flimsy and cheap which didn't go with the room. The drains were a bit dirty and rusty, and the nightstands / lamps and tv were all pretty dusty with some stains. A bit disappointed in the actual hotel room itself , however the actual casino and food / shopping levels were imaculent! The eateries in the food court were wonderful! Some open late which was a life saver considering room services ends at 4pm! Make sure to make a reservation at Voltaggio Steakhouse! You will not be disappointed. read more

Absolutely stunning casino, from the inside out. Very impressed by that, BUT if you are looking for a duo-night where you can watch a football game or this night in particular, my best friend and I were looking to watch a boxing match while we were present at MGM and their sports center, was blacked off with curtains. It seems as only if you are betting on the games, do you get access to that part of the venue. Other than that, beautiful establishment. I didn't see as many food options are other casinos that I've been to, but overall a great, BEAUTIFUL place! read more

My dad wanted to go Thanksgiving Day while we were with his sister and my cousins...My Aunt was tired but my cousin went along with my brother...My brother gives my dad money and 1 hour...I buy my cousin a drink....I take $60 out...Give $40 to my cousin to come here on his Bday and spend $20...I win $75 on $2.25 spin...I cash out lol!!!!! My dad comes back with brother and says he won $600...I say it is best we leave. It is smaller than most casinos...Small and more intimate. It is clean and lively and the higher ceiling make it brighter and more inviting. I like going here over Atlantic City and Las Vegas which I have been to more than I want...Once you are in LV or AC you are trapped at least for a day...Here you can leave quick and easy. More like 3.5/5, a C. I usually have a good time when I come to MGM, it is a well organized/laid out space. Compared to MGM's Vegas casinos, it's below. MGM gives a lot of offers to try to get people to Vegas or on a cruise line, which is nice. Here's where it loses stars for me. The other day, a bird got in and was around the food in the cafe, I wonder if this might be a health concern. The customer service is not really all there, and most of the food is overpriced and mid. A few items from several restaurants and the cafe were just horrendous and they don't give refunds or try to remake anything for you. Like the Vietnamese coffee they made me before was just a white mocha (this is what the employee told me when I asked why it had no condensed milk). There have also been a few instances with employees where I have felt they have been rude or ignored me, and I am not typically somewhere who cares too much about that. read more

I really enjoy visiting MGM not just for the gambling, but because the venue is beautiful and well maintained. Beyond the casino floor, there is plenty to explore, from roaming around the space to enjoying a solid selection of food options. Places like Shake Shack, Ginger, and Bread and Butter are always a hit when you need a break. What truly sets MGM apart for me is the staff. The casino team is genuinely kind and supportive. Even though the house usually wins, the staff roots for you and is always happy to help. During my last visit, I had an issue with my card, and Kisoo went out of his way to bring over Michael, the floor manager, who resolved the problem immediately and did so with such kindness. Throughout the night, Michael was helpful and patient, answering all my questions with a smile. I also met some fantastic dealers. Naod in particular stood out with his great energy and positive attitude. Honestly, if I was going to lose money, I did not mind losing it at their tables. Everyone was so welcoming and pleasant. It is also a big plus that this is a non-smoking casino. Overall, MGM is easily my favorite casino compared to CharlesTown or LIVE. read more

This review is for the service I received staying at MGM on December 30th. I decided to do a staycation to bring in the New Year. I went to the Spa which was really nice. No complaints there. My issue was with the hotel experience. I was overall overwhelmed and greatly disappointed at the fact that I wasn't able to get late checkout as a Marriott Bonvoy status member. Also the food in the hotel is underwhelming and over price. Just come here to gamble or see a show. Dont eat or stay. The spa is nice with a decent membership program. That's it. I stayed here for 3 nights on a work conference. The hotel rooms are very cool sleek design, the lobby is absolutely gorgeous and large, and the catering and hospitality by the hotel staff was exceptional every single day. I really enjoyed my room and the modern feel throughout the bathroom and sleeping area. There are easy light controls for the whole room, and the glass shower is sort of "exposed" in the room making for a cool vibe. The one draw back is the blaring bright lights they use to light up the building outdoors - but with the black our curtains and a sleeping mask (which you will need to bring) - it wasn't a big hurdle to enjoy the space. The conference I was attending was catered and I noticed that the staff were extremely quick in ensuring that all foods were replenished if starting to empty. The theatre room was awesome and really added to the ambiance of the event. There was plenty of space to stretch out across the property, and while I didn't get a photo, the pool looked extremely modern too. I had called the front desk for some decaf coffee and extra water due to my pregnancy, and they gave me more than enough to stock me for my stay. Everyone was kind, the entire facility was extremely clean - and while I don't gamble, I can say I would happily stay here again. read more

We went to the Casino a few weeks ago on a Saturday morning. I was kind of shocked at how busy it already was at 11am! There lots of slots, to choose from, many dealers ready at the table games. It was so easy to get lost in there. It was also fairly clean (but it was still early so take that comment with a grain of salt!) My wife and I recently celebrated our 5th anniversary at the hotel with disappointing results. While the staff members were individually professional and courteous, a recurring series of communication breakdowns between departments significantly marred what should have been a seamless milestone event. The Loss of our Anniversary Dinner Due to a room change between our first and second nights, we coordinated extensively with the front desk to ensure a rental refrigerator containing our anniversary dinner and other food items would be transferred. Despite multiple assurances, our food was disposed of by staff during the move. While the manager on duty, Michael, was apologetic and issued a $300 credit to account for the lost food, we were informed only at check out that the credit was a "use it or lose it" food and beverage credit, rather than a room credit. This was never explained clearly at the time of issuance, rendering the compensation effectively useless as we were already departing. Recurring Communication Issues Beyond the loss of our meal, we experienced several intrusive lapses in coordination: Housekeeping Inconsistency: We were told to wait for a call regarding our second suite, yet housekeeping arrived to clean our first room before that call was made. Upon checking with the desk, we found the second room had been ready for some time. Privacy Breach: We were granted a 1:00 PM late checkout. However, at 11:30 AM, housekeeping entered the room while my wife was fresh out of the shower. This unexpected entry was both startling and an uncomfortable invasion of privacy. Unresolved Follow-up Before leaving, we requested to speak with a manager regarding the unusable credit. We were asked to give our phone number and email address so that Michael could follow up with us directly, as he would be coming into work later that day. We gave our information and as of the time of this review we have yet to receive a call or email from him. We have also sent multiple emails to Alyse Vance, Director of Guest Experience, and Melonie Johnson, The COO, at the MGM National Harbor with no response. read more

Casino review: This establishment offers the standard slots and upstairs poker tables. Main floor also has several table games to include Black Jack. They will raise the minimum when the night gets late in order to try to shut tables down and move crowds together. There is a smokers area out on the balcony to play slots or step away. Security at entrance. Trying to find any beverage late hours is non-existent. The bars close and to even get a water or soda, you have to find a waitress, but wait. Even if you find a waitress, they, with a straight face, will tell you that you have to be playing to order a drink. So when you are playing, they never seem to come around and so just give up on being thirsty as you will surely die of thirst. Changing my review to 3 stars. The parking garage is sketch with people loitering around waiting to rob you when you come out. Change my mind again, two stars. We've seen a lot better in the 2-3 hour area. read more

Throughout my stay in DC, I've gone twice to the casino and every staff I've encountered was friendly. It's not very large but still plenty of machines, tables. The casino was exceptionally different from the reviews I read about it a year ago. I enjoyed my time here and had more luck using the slot machines requiring little money - 18 cents to 30 cents a spin - except for one 75 cents a spin slot machine. The most interactive and highest wins I made were from the cheapest and most outdated slot machines. They were also the most entertaining and fun. The slot machines I found uninteresting, too expensive, confusing, and were not very engaging in visuals & sounds were the ones I lost the most money on with no wins in the first few seconds. I had read past reviews complaining that it was difficult to win and how expensive the slot machines were. I noticed that I could tell in the first minute I used slot machine if it was worth it. I always walked out with more money than I spent and sampled a lot of machines. They discontinued the slot machine I wanted to try. Two floors have slot machines. There are less slot machines on the higher level poker table floor - more dated as well. I was impressed by how spacious, new, and clean every thing looked especially the bathrooms. Staff was courteous and polite. There were no crowds, no traffic, and parking spots were easy to secure. The smokers have nice spacious & beautiful outdoor areas to smoke yet the cigarette vending machines there offer cigarettes at $20 a pack. The food court is nice with outdoor seating as well. Military discounts are 10-25% off in some of the food court shops on Monday to Thursday. You also get bumped up to a higher status - Pearl - when you sign up & show military ID for your MGM card and a chance to win $10 to $10,000 free play for your first day membership. MGM is worth checking out for fun and entertainment. It is the nicest casino I have been to in a long time, yet it is not as fantastic as Las Vegas casinos. read more

We attended two shows at this venue and found it to be very accommodating and comfortable. Parking is free, so that is a big plus. There are great options for meals in the casino. This was my first time at the MGM and there's a parking lot close to the MGM. The parking attendants did a great job of directing you to a space and to the venue. I love there was no additional charge for the parking. Once inside the MGM it felt exquisite. The the lower level was decorated for the Chinese New Year and this huge dragon was on one side and on the other was a tree of gold coins. What a wonderful display that made you feel like you were in the Orient. There are plenty of restaurants options to choose from to delight your tastebuds. We only had time for quick bite before the concert and decide on the Bellagio Patisserie which gives you French cafe vibes . I opted for turkey panni with bacon which was delish. The pastries looked delish and a couple of patrons actually had couple of loaves of sweet breads, macaroons, and cookies in their arms. Service was also great considering the huge line. Once in the concert the sound was great, but since I was in the nose bleed section, I would have appreciated some close ups on the 2 screens so I didn't have to feel so far away. The other issue was the heat. I was a bit warm and it was until intermission that I felt they had turned on a little air. Thank God for that little bit of air because the heat was about to take me out. All in all this was a good enough experience that I would love to book a room for the next concert I see at the MGM. read more

This is our first visit. This place is massive. Parking is abundant. They have many food outlets but wait times at the national market (their food court) can be long. My shout-out goes to two staff members: Trish at the front desk.. she literally changed my experience w the majority of the staff here. Whereas the majority is extremely "prompt" and matter of fact, Trish is the one w brightest smiles and offers the most pleasant advice and help on the hotel and it's surrounding. I was really impressed with her service and her temperament! Hooray to Trish. And there's a mature waiter at Ginger who went out of his way to assure customers felt welcomed and got their needs met. His attitude not seen at any others at this restaurant. (Sorry I didn't get his name. He's a delightful older gentleman with glasses) It seems that most staff here doesn't care that they are in the service industry and this is a tourist "attraction"... Offering smiles and pleasant attitude HELPS. Otherwise MGM National Harbor is a good place to visit. I had the opportunity to meet a good employee that worked in the maintenance department his name is Jose Sorto. I am staying in one of the Accessible rooms here at the MGM and I had a bathroom issue that put me in a situation that caused me to be unable to utilize the shower. Mr Sorto took time to correct the problem and made sure it work properly before he left. He had the best personality I have seen here at MGM and I don't think it's because of the Holidays Spirit I felt like he's just a good person. Need more employees like him.
