The room was on the fifth floor by request (the Gs love riding elevators). Walking into the room and found it to be spacious, clean, and inviting. This room had two queen beds and a queen pullout sofa. It had a kitchenette area with a desk and comfortable chair. The couch/sofa bed had s double side table to serve as a table. The TV is shared between the bed area and the sofa area. There is a large picture window at the back of the room. The window is double pane, but needs to be replaced because of the condensation that is forever in between. This made it a little difficult to see out. However, it did not stop the beautiful sun from beaming in in the morning which I loved. You are able to log into your own Netflix and such and it automatically logs you out upon check out. I logged myself out though. This is free of charge, so it was great for the grands to be able to watch their program after bath time. There is a shower/tub with a commode on one side where you can close the door and a separate vanity sink on the outside. While I loved this room, I had two issues with it. One, there were only enough towels for two people which although does not make sense for a room that can sleep 3 to six people it can be easily remedied. And two, they did not tell us that people woukd be working on the building in the morning when we checked in. So imagine my surprise when I looked up while standing in my bra and panties and saw a worker on a lift painting outside my 5th floor window! Of course I shut the curtains immediately, but not before traumatizing the poor worker! I have an issue with someone being able to peek in where my grands are sleeping. If I had known I would have shut the curtains the night before, but who expects anyone to be by their window on the fifth floor! Breakfast was delicious and my grands really enjoyed the choices. Overall, I will stay there again, but will most definitely inquire about any work that may be going on!

Such a great 1st impression. The hotel lobby was clean, pleasant and fresh. They have a nice breakfast area and a small fitness center. There is a well kept pool deck and clean pool! The room itself was very clean, I didn't notice any major defects. Of course the hotel is aged, but I kind of like that. The room gives you a sense of warmth, coziness, and some character. New modern rooms sometimes can feel so cold. I don't mind the older style! The bathroom was clean with ample towels. AC worked well as did the TV. The bed was clean and fresh. Highly recommend this hotel if you need a quick or long stay in Sanford! Close to i4 and lots of nearby restaurants.

They would both do well to put better signage at the initial turn in so guests could find the correct hotel since they host a lot of conferences and get out of town patrons who may not be familiar. The property itself is nice and clean. Lively bar on the first floor at their restaurant is a good way to keep the energy up for desk staff - who were terrific and friendly although I realize now since I went the wrong way that following check in, I wasn't directed to the elevators like I usually am. Luckily, another staff member - a man who I did notice pull in before me in a golf cart (I'm hoping this identifies him because I didn't catch his name) - chased me down to ensure I wasn't lost. I was walking very fast down the wrong hallway and he quickly caught up to me and asked if I was looking for the elevators (which I was), then proceeded to escort me to the correct foyer. I tried to find him the next morning to get his name for the review but I didn't see him! Thank you sir!! I had read someone else say this hotel was freezing? It was not. Hallways were WARM. In a good way since it's been colder these days (40s) and my room was a good temperature. The glasses in my bathroom had white watermarks as if there was water in them that dried up and the cups just flipped upside down. My bed was made nicely but there were two pieces of hair under the blanket, on my sheets. Which makes me wonder if the linens were washed after the last guest. I drove two hours from out of town and was already out of my shoes and I didn't see bed bugs so I passed on calling down for a room change. Their amenities met my basic needs: a comfortable bed, a hot shower, an airport shuttle, and a complimentary breakfast. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, individual yogurts, make-your-own waffles, bread, juices, and a coffee machine with multiple options. Airport Shuttle: At check-in, you let the front desk know your preferred shuttle time, available on the hour or half hour. I chose the 6:30 AM slot and arrived at the airport by 6:45. The shuttle seats eight, but they also have some 18x12 inch boxes screwed down for extra passengers to sit on. Our ride was full, so three people had to use the boxes. Thankfully, it was a short ride.

I stayed three nights for two consecutive weeks (six nights total) at this location. Both weeks I started my day with going to the airport, a two hour flight, a fifty minute drive to the office, went straight to the office for several hours of meetings and work then drove to the hotel. Both weeks I walked up to the front desk and both times the employee at the front desk, a different employee both times, had a conversation with their coworker while I stood waiting. This infuriates me to no end. The conversations weren't even important. One was chatting about what time they started work and the other was just rambling about whatever. After a good minute or two of conversation I was checked in and off to my room I went. I walked into the room and I cannot say anything bad about it. It was cleaned and lived up to my expectations. The kitchenette was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. and the fridge is a good size. The living space has a nice table and separate desk. I really like the tv design which is on a swivel that allows you to watch the tv from pretty much anywhere in the room. The exercise room is basic. There's two treadmills, an elliptical, exercise ball and dumbbells. I'm fine with that as I can do a lot with just those basics. There is quick access to sidewalks and trail for waking/ running and biking. Several restaurants are within walking distance too. Another plus as the hotels happy hour isn't that good. The food was blah. There are a couple of other Marriott properties nearby so I'm not giving up on Marriott just yet but doubtful I'll go back to this hotel.

One thing that stood out during check-in was that they didn't offer complimentary water bottles. I've usually received at least one bottle at other hotels during check-in, but here they charge for it. The overall ambiance is quite average, and honestly below expectations in some areas. For example, the carpet in the second-floor hallway was in poor condition and had an unpleasant smell, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the room service was excellent -- quick, responsive, and very professional. Also Hampton inn coffee is terrible. Would avoid this place. For a 189 a night they need to do a lot better.
