Positive: Conveniently located off I-71 close to a few fast food places and a country style buffet, hotel has standard American breakfast spread, and onsite what looks like a fun pool/water park for kiddos.. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Negative: If you have animal allergies AVOID this place, the smell of dog dander is very overwhelming. Rooms especially the carpet needs completely remodeled, the carpet was musty and felt sticky under shoes with socks it was filthy. One of our queen beds had a used lottery ticket in between the sheets. The shower head is very low, Im 5'4" and it was barely above my head. The bathroom sink was very slow draining . You can hear TV/neighbors conversations in the rooms (kids yelling etc.) Its not the worst place to stay but at 139.00 a night, Ive stayed at much cleaner for far less. I was a little nervous to visit after seeing some of the pictures and reviews- even brought my own sheets and towels- but we had a great time. We were able to pay $35 and check in at 1pm, the room was clean. The pool was clean and a comfortable temperature it is a little bit old but everything worked fine and the kids had a blast. The free breakfast was great - warning it was a lot of food with dyes and sugar but I think that's the norm everywhere. They do charge $75 for any late check out - even 15 min which seems absurd considering the room was $67. If you get a room facing the harbor (indoor pool) it is very loud until 10pm if you have young kids with bedtimes I'd request a room that faces the parking lot. The train resturaunt on the top of the hill was very cute and my son Loves trains - closes at 4! The taco restaurant has a good happy hour and strong margarita. read more

Dated but the kids loved the waterpark! We decided to stay in this hotel because of the fun pool they offered the kids. Upon check in you get wristbands for the pool. Our room was small but had two beds that overlooked the pool area. Of course we went right down to the pool. I was pleasantly surprised with how warm it was. It was nice there was a hot tub that overlooked the pool area. Plus a splash pad area and the slide was all the kids favorites. The biggest issue is it was very packed and not all the kids/families were friendly. We saw an argument between parents with inappropriate language for the young kids present. They have a pool monitor but they didn't do much other than randomly tell kids not to do something. I tried out the exercise room and it was adequate. The game room had several of the games out of order. Breakfast was filling but very busy. Be prepared to wait 20 minutes to make a waffle on busy days. It also is very loud in the pool area so when we tried to go to bed you could still here everyone since the pool clothes as 10. Just an fyi for those with young children. read more

Like a lot of the other reviews mention this place is in need of some serious upgrades. The smell of chlorine is pretty pungent from the moment you walk in, but given we were there for splash harbor it wasn't a big deal. My biggest gripe is that there were weird stains in the bedsheets and pillow cases. There were a ton of people in the splash pad which was kind of surprising with it being February and all. The kids of course had a blast. I chose to stay out of the water, some of the reason due to the fact that I normally don't get in public pools and the rest because the water looked a little questionable they do serve a hot breakfast which is nice. If you don't have kids, the price of a room here could get you a nice one elsewhere. read more

We checked on choice hotel's website ( this hotels parent company) and found two rooms at $159 each. We called the hotel to book directly and the person on the phone said there was only one room for $ 369. We explained the hotel website said there were two at $159. He said the price is $369 and we should book right away to get the room. Went back to the choice hotel website and reserved two for the lower price. I don't appreciate the attempt at scamming us. Super fun for little kids. The pool area was a little bit cold but kids didn't mind at all. They loved the slide and splash pad, the hot tub was great, it was very clean, the staff was all very friendly, towels were available, as well as lots of seating. We will definitely be taking our little ones back to swim again to keep busy during the winter months. read more

I had a horrible stay it was New Year's. My parents allowed my sister to go get water from the lobby. My little sister's friend also went down with her. My sister grabbed the water. And some bald guy walked up to her. I don't know if he worked there or not. But he was mad. Since it was New Year's, everyone was up late. And my sister was parched. The man then cursed my sisters friend and her out about how they should not been down there and he said he was going to report her to the main lobby and he would get us kicked out because of my little sister then my little sister walked away. She came back to our room sobbing. We asked her what was wrong and she said some bald guy cursed her and her friend out and we were already upset because earlier that day my sister went down to the lobby to ask for the Wi-Fi password the girl at the front desk, laughed in her face and did not tell her the Wi-Fi password I do not recommend coming to this hotel read more

The rooms are small, humid, & smell musty. After the pool closes, they don't let you visit anywhere else. The arcade is closed AND they close the lobby. We were so disappointed. We had a family group and hoped to play cards for an hour when the pool closed at 10pm but they stated we must return to our rooms and not congregate. read more

They have three luggage carts and a 2nd floor, but no elevator. So, if you're alone and have a few handfuls of luggage, good luck. The hotel is dirty and in desperate need of renovation. Worse experience ever! If only I could give it no stars. Paid $300 dollars last night checking in at 9pm all to tell us the following day (HENCE THE NEXT DAY) that we can no longer be in the splash pad after check out, which was never communicated with us last night when we were checking. We ASKED what time the pool closed and the lady told us 10pm, did NOT mention anything about not letting us go after our check out. Had we known we would've NEVER stayed. Let alone, the rooms were disgusting leaving my kids socks black because how disgusting the floors were. The bedding had no sufficient mattress protector all it had was a thin blanket under a thin pad of some sort. I had to layer the bed with my own blankets. The so-call "manager" Crystal Maglott had terrible customer service. Her appearance as a "manager" was very unprofessional, wearing a hooded sweater and jeans. Did nothing to satisfy her customers. My family and I stay here for the weekend and the room stay in toilet didn't work, they came to the room the lady never tried to plunge the she lifted the thing from the back of the toilet. She came out and said it flashed , when it didn't, we had to go get the plunger and do it are SELF all weekend all! we was never offered another room. When i first checked I asked for more blankets and the staff told me that it was some in the room and it wasn't '. My husband went back down to get some they gave him a thin blanket. So I went down and asked for a real blanket she asked me did someone just come from my room she said nasty I told her yes but that was not a real blanket. This was a special trip for my son's birthday and was only saved by the arcade room, otherwise this review would be one star. Overall pretty disappointing. The most problematic thing was that the place is absolutely filthy (see pictures). Our kids who should have been distracted by the awesome water slide were asking us why the bottom of the pool was so dirty. And when a 7-year old notices that...well. The splash portion did not work so really all you're getting for the extra money is use of the water slide and some basketball hoops with 2 balls so old and faded it's not funny. When we informed the pool attendant (who seemed like he was on a solid 5-hour break) about the splash pad not working he couldn't be bothered to check it out. There are two hot tubs, both dirty, and when we sat in one and pushed the button the jets worked on average between 30 seconds and two minutes. When we asked the attendant about this he just shrugged and said there was "no way" for them to control the time. I've never even heard of that being a thing anywhere. (Side note: not sure it's safe to have a rusty window A/C unit hanging directly above a hot tub??) He did say the owner would come take a look at the splash pad and we were there for several hours and that never happened, so??? The only thing that made up for it was the pretty nice arcade room. Bigger and more games than I thought there would be and the kids really liked it. So that's something. Hotel breakfast was a fine hotel breakfast, nothing to write home about but not bad. read more

We had a great time. We brought my son for his sixth birthday. The room was very clean. It was February and the heat was cranking everywhere in the hotel. The game room was almost unbearable. Breakfast was good! As far as the pool goes It was very crowded and the water was cloudy. My son had an absolute blast tho. It's a very fun place for a weekend getaway but i have some pointers. We are currently staying Friday February 23rd to Sunday February 25th. We have been here around 5 times. Never has it gotten this bad. We went to the waterpark after we got here and as soon as we got in our eyes started to burn. Now this isn't the first time this has happened. The coughing is uncontrollable! There is far too many chemicals in the pool. Way too much chlorine. Friday kids left coughing. We were talking to another family staying for about the same amount of time as us and they said their kids were coughing. They even said other kids were throwing up. Saturday i was getting out of the water uncontrollably coughing. As a result i threw up. The room was pretty nice. Beds were very comfortable. The breakfast is amazing which is good. Now none of us were sick before we came. As soon as we swam for a while this happened. We were trying to fall asleep around 12:00am and we heard kids screaming and running around. Stayed here in mid May 2023 with my fiancé. Traveling cross country, we just wanted some rest and maybe some fun. We are not big complainers, but there were far too many things wrong with the room and stay. In short, entry way to hotel smelled like a dirty diaper (so did the luggage cart), the room was cleaned but not cleanly, twice the front desk called the room for no good reason, the window to the room was right next to the "water park" with tons of screaming kids (started early and lasted late). Felt like a nightmare. The next morning we couldn't shower because the tub was stopped up (and not just closed). In the morning, couldn't get the front desk employee to acknowledge us and/or get off the phone. We let the housekeeper know about the problem so we could get going. To top it off, the hotel nor would Priceline compensate us anything for the hellacious stay. Had we known, we would have rather slept in the car. read more

Was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We stayed here on a last minute trip from Cleveland to visit the ski area. We arrived around check in on Friday (4:00) and the kids used the "water park" for about an hour. They have a pool attendant constantly walking the pool deck (so no drinking unless sneaking :) and just enough for the kids to have fun. Water/Pool Area perfect for kids under the age of 10. Not your Great Wolf by any means, but enough variety to keep the kids happy. On Friday night when we returned from the slopes (9:00) and the next morning - it was PACKED. Must be a popular get away for those in the area. Our kids didn't want to swim bc it was so crowded, so glad we arrived when we did so they could enjoy it when it was much less crowded. Room was just ok. Outdated and cleanliness was average. Pillows very uncomfortable and hallways were noisy due to amount of kids staying there. Continental breakfast was very good! Not many places to eat in the area as far as dinner goes, but lots of pizza places and a nearby bar. Well worth the price you pay for a room to stay here. read more

The hotel room itself was very comfortable plenty of linen and bathroom necessities. The water park area was absolutely trifling! The water was going from brown to a muddy green. We arrived 4:00 p.m. Friday and decided the water was too dirty to get in thinking that it would recycle overnight and be clean Saturday morning. It was much worse on Saturday and it had white stuff floating on top. Our room window face the water park and at 10:00 p.m. they gather the toys turn the lights out and they don't come in again until it opens up at 8:00 a.m. No kind of cleaning or nothing being done. I went to the desk to ask for a partial refund since I couldn't use the water park and was refused since others "didn't mind the dirt." The water was too nasty for us to get in so we didn't get to take advantage of that and that's pretty much what we came for so unfortunately I can't leave a good review. read more

I reserved 2 rooms, 1 room had bed bugs, the other was in fact ok. But the other room they switched us to had stained mattresses from bed bug residue. I then made the decision that the hotel overall wasn't sanitary. I had to pack up the kids at 4am and drove home 2 hours. I was only compensated for 1 room, but for the inconvenience overall, i strongly feel that i should be compensated for both rooms. The manager, Crystal's attitude didn't seem to be very helpful or concerned about the issue or the major inconvenience that we experienced. I believe the fair thing to dp would've been fully compensated for both rooms. read more

The smell of mold or mildew in the room made it hard to sleep and didn't give me any comfort (no pun intended) in their cleansing practices. When we arrived in the hotel it was nice....I guess, we saw some peices of dog food and as we were trying to use our microwave for popcorn it stopped working and we couldn't heat up anything. The pool was nice but very crowded. Definitely better for little kids. We ended up at the comfort Inn Splash Harbor by chance as we began experiencing car trouble on our trip home from our holiday vacation. We were tired frustrated and had four kids in tow including a newborn. The staff at Comfort Inn made a huge difference in turning around what started out as an unpleasant weekend. They were immediately kind and understanding. They gave us directions to the local bus stop as well as recommendations for dinner. Splash Harbor is not as big as other hotel water park locations however I think that makes it great for families with smaller children or children of varied ages. I was able to sit in the family hot tub and see almost everything. Where as other places I spent the entire time running back and forth trying to keep an eye on all of the kids. The only place that I couldn't see them at were the sprinklers and I felt like they were very safe there. They enjoyed going down the slide a million times! There was also an intense game of pool basketball between them and my husband that was fun to watch. My husband and I enjoyed the time that we were able to catch alone in the adult hot tub. I appreciate that it was for 18 and over. It gave us some quiet time together while the kids were in the hotel room relaxing. The breakfast was standard hotel breakfast. I loved that there was a variety of options offered from waffles, donuts, bagels, eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, yogurt, cereal and more. There were enough options that everyone in our family left satisfied. I have a disabled son and could see this being great for other families of disabled children. The sprinkler area and less deep area would be great for bigger children that can't walk or just do not enjoy being fully submerged in the water. The pool attendant was also very friendly and patient with my son who has hearing loss as well as multiple other disabilities. She went out of her way to motion her hands to signal if he was doing something against the rules. (running etc) The room was clean, the breakfast good, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay great! We are already planning our trip back! read more

Through my eyes all I could see were the worn out parts in the room - the cabinets and furniture were chipped and worn out- there was a smashed bug on the wall, and what I sure as heck hoped WASN'T a pube on the sink. The corners of the bathroom were grimy and dirty. There was a stain on the carpet inbetween the beds . Someone's splash harbor wristband was under the hotel "info" folder on the desk, so you know it hadn't been moved. There was food stuck to the seat of the desk chair. My family and I booked a weekend stay at the Comfort Inn Splash Harbor in Bellville Ohio. I booked two rooms months in advance, having to re-schedule once due to a snow storm and level 3 snow emergencies. I booked online and spoke on the phone three separate times to hotel staff about our stay, requesting the two rooms to be adjoining if possible and for two pack and plays in the one room because we have twin 2 year olds. (Along with our 4 year old who was going to sleep with us in the bed or on the couch). One room was for my husband, me, and our 3 small children. The other room was for our other family. I called the morning of our stay and wanted to again request the two pack and plays and to see if possible that our rooms could be adjoining. (Which is what a staff member had told me to do when I originally booked the room and had to re-schedule). The lady was extremely rude on the phone and said, "Well there's no way to 'request' that your rooms be adjoining, that's not something you can just get." She had a horrible attitude with me and put me on hold and then proceeded to tell me that our rooms are indeed adjoining for our stay and that they had already placed two pack and plays in our room. I thanked her and hung up. We arrive at the hotel around 7 pm to check in. The man at the front desk asked for my name and how many people for our stay. Two rooms- 4 adults and 5 kids (2 in pack and plays). He told me that we had too many children and that the maximum amount of people for the king size room was 2 people and that he couldn't activate our stay. I told him that we have 3 children so of course they will be staying in our room with us. He continued to say that I should have known when booking that it was too many children and above the fire code. I told him I had called several times since originally booking our stay to ask questions about the hotel, pool, etc and always mentioned needing 2 pack and plays for my TWO two year olds. He was extremely rude and refused to get a manager or anyone else to help me. He repeatedly said "You aren't understanding. You're not getting it." Finally, another employee came over and accused me of "lying" and not mentioning we had children when we booked our rooms. I said then WHY did I ask for TWO pack and plays then?? I said "So you're telling me that anyone with 3 children can't stay in the same room?? The staff were extremely rude and belittling in front of my family and children. They were not understanding and not in the least bit apologetic for us. We have stayed in many hotels in one room with our three young children and its never been an issue. I became upset and told them I couldn't believe this, then the one employee pointed her fingers at me and told us to "get out". They were extremely hateful and disrespectful. Let me repeat this- THESE PEOPLE ACCUSED ME OF LYING ABOUT HAVING CHILDREN WHEN I BOOKED OUR STAY. The woman literally said they words, "Well you must have lied when you made your reservation online." Apparently I asked for pack and plays just for show?? And not to put actual children in. So now 8pm in a snow storm we are forced to drive our three children home TWO HOURS away. I am disgusted and mortified at their behavior and unprofessionalism. The fact that they called a customer a LIAR is absurd. We will be following up with the BBB and Comfort Inn Corporate. I will make sure all my family and friends know what rude this company employees and how horribly they treat their guests. read more

Brought a team I coach here for a stay during a week-long competition near by. Solid 2 stars all around! Positives: Staff was very helpful. Parking is plentiful. Cleanliness was above average for this class of hotel. Guests were decent people (prob because of the h2o park feature?) The rest: Interior needs a major update. It's seen better days, many better days. First non-smoking room smelled like weed. Stanky weed. Second non-smoking room also smelled like some stanky weed. WTF? 3rd room was OK, but looked out onto the pool. Screaming kids all day! Fun. The breakfast is abysmal. I should have taken pictures. The coffee isn't actual coffee... WTF? It's reconstituted coffee juice. That's sick. Whoever invented reconstituted coffee is a sick person who should be locked away, probably forever. There were some adult males masturbating in the splash pool harbor area... staff didn't want to deal with them, so I had to. Kinda weird. I can't imagine this is the first time some creepy old dudes were masturbating in there. I shouldn't have to play bouncer. To the sports team I brought, this is forever the "masturbating old man hotel.: Overall solid 2 stars. I came, I slept, I showered, NO bed bugs nor lice (big win in 2019!), polite staff, car was safe in the lot. As another reviewer pointed out, no real negatives to point out. That being said, I've stayed in nicer places for sure. Beds are comfortable, water is hot when it's supposed to be, cold when it's not. Rooms looked clean, though a bit dated and worn. We did take advantage of "Splash Harbor". It appeared bigger online, but the pool was clean, the provided towels seemed freshly laundered, and our kiddo loved the large splash pad. The included breakfast with the stay was decent. Not great, but hey, it's free! My only real complaint is that I booked through a third party vendor and paid through them. When I checked in, they charged me again. Once I produced the receipt, they apologized for the oversight, and made it right. Mistakes happen everywhere, so no real issue at all. It was a nice, relaxing stay away from home, for an affordable price, and the kid had fun. I'm sure we will stop back in the future. read more

We had made plans to meet friends at the hotel for an overnight stay and we were traveling with our dog. We booked a pet friendly room. The smell in the pet friendly area both in and outside of the room was disgusting. The bathroom walls and floor were filthy. We have stayed in other pet friendly rooms and never experienced a room like this. The hot tub was lukewarm and the jets were not working. We decided to request a refund, and just go home. We came here planning to stay for 2 nights for a wedding. We ended up only staying one, and chose to drive home after the wedding because we simply could not stay another night. Let's recap: Facilities: Overall, it was run down and old. Our bathroom had tiles falling off the wall, lime buildup, and the place just felt dirty. The bed: This was probably the biggest reason we left early. The mattress had NO cushion. Honestly, sleeping on the floor would have been about the same feel. I woke up so sore, and tossed and turned the entire night. The room overall: The walls were very thin. We could hear the people above us whenever they moved, and we ended up calling the front desk to complain- because around 11pm it sounded like people were running back and forth. It was awful! Also our room had a window overlooking the "water park" (2 small pools and a slide), and we could hear children screaming until 10pm. Customer service: When we went to check out the girl said she had been training for a few weeks and wasn't really sure how to check out. It took us 45 minutes before it was completed. You'd think checking people in and out would be one of the first skills you learn as a front desk at a hotel. So in conclusion, don't waste your money. The McD's Happy Meal of hotels--but don't come if you don't bring the kids! Splash Harbor is the big draw for this hotel, and it's a paradise for young kids--huge water park attached to the hotel. But the walls are paper thin (at least in our room at the other end of the hotel on the first floor), and the phone was broken for the entire three days (apparently all the phones were broken the whole time. Towels are kind of scratchy, and the breakfast was not very good--except for the Belgian Waffles which you make yourself and are delicious. Stay away from the fake-eggs. We weren't in the room except to sleep at night (or try to) but the pounding from the room above (from two different guests, apparently) had us turning up the TV and covering our ears until about midnight each time. No help from the front desk, whom we had to contact from our cell because the..oh right the phones were broken! Hey--these things happen (they said). All this and a ridiculous price--average $139, with $159 on the weekend days. Bottom line? We were victims of the "College Family Weekend Hotel Shortage". Never again! read more

We got to the hotel and ask the lady if we can pay by the day for the pool we had a few friends that wanted to spend the day and hang out and the lady at the counter that was checking us in said no then a customer walk behind said they did when covid hit so I did not say nothing I rented a room another room for 2 nights which costed $300 so then we went on with are day and then we went up to are room to go to bed and i alway check the beds for bed bugs and there was stuff all over the bed bug bag cover so I took photos and went to the front desk and I was not happy this was at 10:30 at night the pool closes at 10 then we all took showers and where ready to go to bed until I realized the bed was never cleaned and the lady at the front desk was beyond rude she went on and acted like I put cum and nut all over this bed bug cover it was disgusting I could have threw up and I was treated like I was nobody and she said your just mad that you had to rent to rooms which I was not I would of never rented the second room if I gave a crap I would of just stayed for the day and there are so many people packing more than 5 people per room but I was honest and paid for the 2 rooms so she had us move are rooms at 10:30 at night then go on to tell me none of are kids where sleeping which one of them was and we had 2 move to 2 rooms then she went on to tell me that they do sell passes by the day but its only til 6 she should of said that not said no we do not she scammed me i knew she was lying thats why i called her out on it she is beyond disrespectful then she went on to tell us if there is any other problems we will ask you to leave like we should just settle for a dirty room I would not recommend this place at all read more

My family had come here multiple times under previous ownership. The place has always been "dated", but the old owners cared about the people that stayed; they even came on site and visited a few times, checking to make sure we were having a good time and found it to our liking. We had stayed here a couple times, the rooms are "ok" at best. The walls are thin. The pool area is noisy. And the breakfast is pretty bad. We have also just come to swim several times, which is outrageously priced, but our kids love it (2, 4, and 7) Skip to the next morning, the kids wanted to swim before we checked out and went home. Keep in mind we had just spent $240 on two rooms, plus our entire party purchased stuff out of their vending machines and our entire party of kids just spent 3 hours off and on in the game room. We easily dropped $300 there! Check out is 11a. About 11:10 a (we found out later) 15 year old pool attendant inappropriately, rudely and VERY loudly approached my wife with a major attitude. She escalated the conversation immediately, to the point where it caught the attention of the people setting up for their party, along with the other adults in and around the pool and hot tub. With my 4 year old standing next to my wife, she told her to "pack up our family and get out!" She yelled in my wife's face so loudly and so mean that my 4 year old began to cry, scared by the "mean lady". Shocked by what was happening, combined with the fact that it echos in the pool area, my wife was confused and asked her what was going on. The girl stepped towards my wife in an aggressive manner, facial expression and body language. She repeated "I said, get your kids packed up and get out of here, you are no longer welcome here, its past check out time!" I now have a crying 4 year old and a wife that is stunned. She turned and went to the front desk to try to understand what options were available for us to extend our stay another half hour or so. We offered to pay for new day passes ($54) and were denied. We offered to pay extra for "late checkout" ($40) and were denied that as well. I then got out of the pool and went to try to reason with the "acting manager" at the front desk when she started making accusations that were simply not true. I asked why they were so mad and singling us out, when she began explaining in a VERY rude way that we had been observed the day before to have too many people at our party, didn't clean up afterwards and had more people swimming than we had paid for, NONE of which was true. I explained that she was mixing us up with other people and I simply wanted to find a way to stay for another half and hour to hour with my kids and I was willing to pay for it, but she said we were not welcome there and needed to leave immediately because WE were the ones being too argumentative?! After being yelled at and embarrassed in front of the other guests by a rude, disrespectful teenager, we packed up our kids and headed home, stunned at how the whole situation escalated and ended. A few hours later we called on management to discuss how we were treated that set all this in motion. The manager said she was "well aware" of who we were, sided with her team and advised her front desk that she should have called the cops on us for being so aggressive with them. What!!!??? She said my wife was yelling and "aggressively waving her finger in her pool attendants face." Which was not at all true! She said she "could produce written statements" by her staff if we wanted? She further stated that, "due to our attitudes, my family and I are no longer welcome at their hotel and NEVER to come back again!" Just WOW... what? This is a manager of a hotel??? My advice to them, train your people better, its called the "hospitality" business for a reason. Don't send a rude teenager with no people skills into a situation like that and have it escalate beyond their control. My advice to you. Don't stay here unless you absolutely have to. Trust me, you are NOT missing anything special! The room rates far exceed what you pay for. As you can see from the other reviews, its dated/dirty, the beds suck, breakfast sucks, the check in/out process is painful and their lack of customer service skills, as a whole, are beyond comprehension to someone like me with 30 years of experience in customer service and management! read more

If the application would allow, my rating would be 0. If you are looking for a low cost average 3 star hotel, I would highly recommend not stopping at this hotel, or exit at all... as the same people who own this location, also own the hotel across the street. This is a 3 star hotel in Mansfield, Ohio, and our expectations weren't that high to begin with. We read the reviews online ( which aren't great) but my son wanted to stay here for his birthday ( Splash Harbor) so we obliged . That was a mistake. Right from the start our room keys would not work... after back and forth from the room to the front desk (3 times) and 15 min later, we finally got a key that would work. However, upon the third time of having to return to lobby to ask patiently for another key, the lady at the desk was visibly annoyed WITH ME! She sighed and rolled her eyes at the other clerk, like it was my fault. I couldn't believed her blatant bad attitude right to my face. Once we did get inside the room, even my kids noticed the odd smell and that it was dirty. Apparently the cleaning staff forgot to clean the refrigerator out, as we were left the previous guests old pizza. We also witnessed another guest quickly carrying a set of rolled up sheets down the hall. She suggested we inspect our beds as hers had bed bugs and also blood stains. We did check our linens, and only found what appeared to be dried food of some sort on one of the outer blankets, no bugs thank god. However, at this point I was set on leaving, refund or not. I didn't want to crush my son on his birthday so my husband drove a few miles down the road to Walmart and purchased some blankets we could use instead. The pool was nice for the kids, however it's heavy chlorinated, and they wanted to stop swimming after only a hour because their eyes was burning. The pool attendant was a teenager, and we got to witness her immaturity and rudeness to another guest, before we got a full dose of it ourselves the following day. We She was so rude and abrasive she made my 4 yr old cry. We did contact management voicing our concerns, and got a reply back stating she stands behind her facility and how her staff chooses to enforce policy. Very nice place. Stayed here while taking in a hockey game in Columbus. Was a nice facility. The splash pad/pool area was well kept and clean. Seemed though to have a lot of chemicals in the water as two of our children seemed a bit bothered by it after a while. Was extremely busy and crowded. Front desk folks where very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good, not the greatest I've had but free and included. Beds were comfortable and room was spacious. I'd recommend staying here. Would gladly stay here again. read more
