I don't know what my family would do without the Santa Clarita Comfort Keepers! I hired them for my 85 year old father, who is bedridden and requires a lot of support. Comfort Keepers has been providing 13 hours of caregiving every day. Over the past few months, we have used at least of dozen different Comfort Keepers caregivers to cover the various shifts, although most of the caregiving is provided by a few regulars. These people are WONDERFUL and my father is always happy to see them when they arrive. They are incredibly reliable and arrive on time ready to go. Our Comfort Keepers caregivers have gone above and beyond on numerous occasions. After one particularly stressful evening, one stayed several hours late (calling me for permission first) so she could be sure my father was settled and my mother was okay and didn't leave until they both had gone to sleep. They live up to their name and truly are a comfort to both my parents. The Comfort Keepers staff has been wonderful as well. I often deal with Teresa, our Case Manager and Amanda, who handles the scheduling. They are always accessible, even on weekends. My father's needs have fluctuated quite a bit and while I have tried to avoid last minute scheduling changes, at times it couldn't be helped. When I've contacted the staff they've consistently been understanding and caring not only for my parents, but me and the stress I'm dealing with. They always make me feel better. :) We've dealt with three other caregiving companies. Two called me at the last minute and said they were sorry but they didn't have anyone available to send! What was I supposed to do then?? The third one said they could only provide help during the day because their caregivers didn't like to work in the evenings - but my father needs help in the evenings! I've never had any problems like this with Comfort Keepers, in fact, when my father first came home from the hospital, they provided caregivers for us 24 hours a days. Comfort Keepers have saved our sanity. My sister and I both work full time while taking care of our mother full time. We called many agencies, Comfort Keepers was the only one who could meet out needs. We started out slowly 4 hours twice a week, but have since increased care due to my mothers on going needs. We now have 3 Caregivers we adore, Megan, Miriam and Apple. Megan loves to make different meals for mom, Miriam is great with encouraging mom to do her exercises, Apple is there for 8 hours and is very gentle, kind and patient for mom is a bit cranky on Saturdays. Amanda has been so helpful with my request and helping us navigate our personal care need. Teresa was instrumental in getting the care started. It's nice to be daughters again to my mother. If you value your loved ones or possessions don't ever hire comfort keeper in Santa Clarita. My mother has employed comfort keepers for many years. The service is highly dependent on the staff available at the time and the last year the staff has been terrible. In the past 6 months we've needed to increase the amount of service from comfort keepers as my mom needed more help temporarily. Comfort Keepers was terrible in providing the service. The quality of their caregivers is very marginal and the whole attitude of the company is to blame the patient for everything. This attitude starts at the top and goes down to the caregivers. We no longer use comfort keepers as they have stolen my mom's jewelry which has broken my mom's heart, blamed my mom for everything, and tried to initiate the use of durable medical equipment, DME without a license. Teresa, the manager, with an expired LVN license and is not licensed and is also not licensed to require DME to be used. I'm not sure what bonded means but comfort keepers claims to be bonded. When my mom's jewelry was stolen by one of the caregivers comfort keepers said there was nothing they could do. Very very sad. Do not call this agency. There are other ones out there. Where do I start? I love our caregiver, her name is Jo Ellen. The company or at least the office manager Teresa is definitely a different story. At first, she seems nice but it is short-lived. She makes it very difficult to be happy with their service. I will just say, I asked for our caregiver to go on a cruise with us. We of course would be paying her way. Jo Ellen was excited and so were we. Then came Teresa. I was told I would have to pay the agency for 5 hours a day. I wanted to think about it and when I decided to go ahead with it I was told things change and now I would have to pay the agency for 12 hours a day and get Jo Ellen a separate cabin!! Next, she tells me that if she could she would help me with this but that the owner Miles is the one who made the decision so naturally I requested a conversation with Miles. I figured being a paying client I should get to do that. Unfortunately for me, I was denied by Teresa. BTW I hired someone else to take on the cruise. Sorry Jo Ellen we will miss you. read more

Although pleasant and reasonable for the first two weeks Comfort Keepers does not seem to be reasonable or even polite when there is a problem. Comfort Keepers demonstrated to me a complete lack of accountability when they sent an obviously ill employee into my mother's (age 93) and Aunt's (87) home. Although they were perfectly aware that my mother was just out of the hospital will a severe illness, the employee in question was sent anyway. Rather than excuse herself, she continued to stay in the house until I arrived and kicked her out. So we forgive and forget others mistakes but when I asked Comfort Keepers for a plan to ensure that this didn't happen again, I was met with a barrage of excuses and recitations of all of their problems. My questions were unanswered by Teresa and I asked to speak with her boss, Myles. Almost two full days later Myles called and arrogantly mentioned "that I don't spend too much time in the office." This was designed to inform me that he doesn't care about my problem. Myles then offered the same excuses about the incredibly thoughtless behavior of his staff. He then resorted to name-calling. Contrary to our oral agreement Myles then proceeded to cancel the rest of the week. He cited lack of pre-payment for the rest of the week. Please note that Comfort Keepers has utterly failed to provide comprehensive and accurate billing, in spite of my many requests. Our check was written but I asked them to provide a bill that showed payments already made. We learn about the character of those who profess to be in business by how they handle issues. If I am wrong that I have no right to be upset over an sick employee appearing in the home of 93 year old just home from the hospital, then perhaps someone should write me a note. My view is that Comfort Keepers is distinctly unprofessional and not deserving of anyone's business. read more

Comfort Keepers are an AMAZING asset to have in the SCV and the surrounding community!! We used their services for roughly a year for my mother in law. From the time we contacted them until after the services were not needed any longer, their staff was extremely sincere, caring, and honest. When we first made the call, we were pleasantly greeted by the receptionist who transferred over our call to a Home Healthcare specialist. From that first interaction to the very end, it was always a pleasure working with them. Their In Home Caregivers were so nice and pleasant to work with. They were gentle with my mother in law, became good friends and went above and beyond what we expected from them and the service. The staff is very well trained and on top of any needs that were needed or requested. There was never an issue with a delay for requests. Myles has hired and trained the best in the business! They care about their clients, their families and to make it as easy of a situation for the family and patient that they can! We will definitely use their services again and would suggest Comfort Keepers to ANYONE!! Thank you Comfort Keepers for making it such an easy experience during a difficult time! This branch of Comfort Keepers is poorly managed. They start out as being compassionate and professional, but after a few weeks their true colors emerge. Anytime I had a valid complaint, Teresa, the contact person would spin the problem and blame the situation on my mom. She talked incessantly and would not listen therefore she was never able to adequately address any problems that arose. After a few months, I found a private caregiver to cover part of the shift, but continued to use Comfort Keepers for the other part. Finally, Teresa sent an email to the family with disparaging remarks about my mom. Incredulously, she still wanted to provide a caregiver, but I hired a different agency instead. read more

I used Comfort Keepers in Santa Clarita Valley, CA in March 2018. I called them to inquire as to rates and availability. They were very responsive to my questions. They sent a wonderful woman to help care for by elderly father while my mother got to take a couple days away from home. The woman was extremely helpful to me. She provided great suggestions for changing bed linens and for moving my father around while in his bed. She bathed and dressed him, talked with him about his family history, and then performed chores related to his well being in his room - dusted, did laundry, cleared away his dishes, etc. I will use them again the next time my mom needs a break as they don't require a regular commitment from families. They provide both on-call/ as needed and regular quality staff who are well trained and knowledgeable. read more

My elderly mother requires care 24/7 for her Alzheimer's. While under Comfort Keeper's care, she fell while in the kitchen and broke her hip (purportedly the caregiver was right beside her when this happened). My mother also left the house while the care giver was not watching her, and ended up at a neighbor's house with the police being called because my mother said she did not know where she lived and she was afraid. Comfort Keepers changes its policies on a whim - certain times when my Mother needed to take a prescription, the caregivers administered this without issue. Other times, I was required to take Mom's meds and put them in a pill tray for dispensing. I was also required to put daily vitamins in a pill tray for dispensing since Comfort Keepers was "not authorized" to do this. I won't get into my personal issues with the Comfort Keepers staff in this review, but I will close by saying that you definitely do not get what you pay for with Comfort Keepers services. And you should - they are the most expensive caregivers in the industry. read more
