I was given an email prompt to go to a portal and download an app, and fill out everything there. I did. But when I got to my appointment I was told I didn't sign all of the required docs. I looked through the app and showed the front desk, and she couldn't find them either, so I had to do it on an iPad there. Not a huge deal, but a glitch that made check-in less smooth. Another awkward, and poorly timed request, was after the doctor decided to do 3 biopsies. I signed a doc to agree to them, and the nurse told me I had to pay the deductible for them before they could proceed. I literally had to get off the table in my gown, and go get my credit card out of my purse so she could process it while I waited. Really, really weird that I couldn't take care of that upon exiting. And honestly, not the best use of a nurse's valuable time! Lastly, I was laying on the table in a paper gown, at times with different areas of my body exposed, and during a period when a 2nd nurse or technician was coming in and out, the door was left open 2 or 3 times while she performed her tasks. I was in the first room, so every patient who entered walked by my room, and there were men, women and children in the office. I almost said something, but I was embarrassed and just wanted it over with. I hope they pay a little more attention to the privacy and dignity of patients. Still, I'll give it another shot because I liked Dr. Hirschfield.

As many patients were waiting to check in, I couldn't help but be bothered by the fact the receptionist wearing glasses could not be bothered to get off of her phone to help her colleague to check patients in. Seeing this lack of professionalism by her at the front desk makes me question how professional this establishment is. The front desk are the first people you see, and who set the tone for the appointment. After seeing the consistent lack of urgency and continuous unprofessional attitude on the one receptionists end does not make me want to continue treatment here.

It usually takes about 30 minutes, but this time Dr. Lin was done in 10 minutes. A few days later, I noticed uneven, hollow areas under my eyes, which was something that has never happened before. I reached out to express my concerns and request a refund for the $850 I paid (which, by the way, used to be $400). Instead of any accountability, I was told by Lucy that refunds are not offered but that I could speak with Dr. Lin directly. Dr. Lin agreed to fix the issue, so I scheduled a follow-up and another flight from Texas, and another expense. But when I arrived in California, I found out Lucy had booked me at a completely different office (Sherman Oaks) instead of the Valencia office I've gone to for a decade. When I realized the mistake and tried to reschedule, as it was too far away for the time I had to do it. I texted back, emailed, even called, and I was completely ignored. Because of this careless handling, I ended up losing $1,400 in travel costs due to flight changes and extra expenses from the government shutdown. And to make matters worse, I now have to spend another $850 elsewhere just to get my filler fixed. I just want a refund of my $850. I can't even begin to describe how disappointed and disrespected I feel after ten years of loyalty. The quality of care and communication has gone drastically downhill since the switch to Unified Health. As a VIP patient, I no longer recognize this practice, and I will not be returning. I went to this office for a skin cancer diagnosis, and they stated they would only send four samples to the lab at a time. They then told me they could only remove one skin cancer per visit due to insurance reasons, which was absolutely untrue. I have a PPO and have previously had multiple skin cancers removed in a single visit. I ultimately went to UCLA, where they removed five at once without any issue. When I relayed this back to the original office, they changed their explanation from "insurance limitations" to "office policy." After removing two lesions on two separate visits, they then advised leaving the wounds open without stitches to heal on their own. Once again, this proved to be poor guidance. I am now left with two gaping wounds--see photo for one example--that are healing extremely slowly. One on my back is now four weeks out and looks essentially unchanged. This experience has been frustrating and unacceptable. I strongly suggest going elsewhere for care.

I called back multiple times through their call center - each call got me a different story and no callback from anyone at the actual office. First they said yes they do appeals, then no they don't. I even had to call to find out they canceled my appointment - they never bothered to contact me. I requested a refund. They refused, claiming appeals were filed when I can see in my app that only the initial request exists. The office is beautiful and very welcoming. When you walk in there's chilled champagne, orange juice for mimosas, and a lot of skincare products displayed. I told Kelly upfront that I had about $450-$500 to spend, and she didn't bat an eye or make me feel uncomfortable about having a budget. She treated my 11 lines and forehead wrinkles for $300, after the receptionist helped me apply a $65 coupon that she informed me about at check out. I was honestly expecting to only be able to afford my 11s like I used to at Blue, where just the forehead area would run around $550-$600 and crows feet were always extra. The difference here was huge. Kelly was thorough, knowledgeable, and efficient.
