Buyer Beware. It bothers me to write a bad review for a business. However, there's no other option but to alert potential customers who are considering doing business with this company: keep an eye on them. Here's what happened. On the recommendations of the charismatic salesman, Matt, I purchased the more Energy Efficient unit at a higher price. On installation day I discovered that a lower Energy Efficient unit had been installed. I questioned the technician while he was still working on the installation, but he had no way to know what the contract called for. I accepted his explanation and immediately called Matt. And this is where it gets disturbingly interesting. To encapsulate what he had to say, if you're familiar with the "Carbonaro Effect", this is what his explanation sounded like: totally confusing, techy-talk b.s. Bottom line: I paid $500.00 more for a unit that was listed at $500.00 less. If I hadn't been at the right place, at the right moment and seen the yellow Energy Efficient tag on the unit when it was delivered, I would have been out of $500.00 because once installed there's zero chance of knowing what the Energy Efficient rating is. After stopping payments and talking to the office manager the situation was amicable resolved and I was refunded the over charge. No other explanation or apologies were offered. But no worries...just another experience. read more

Another month had gone by and we are coming up on the 1 year anniversary of the installation of the air conditioner units. Bob McAllister did respond to my Yelp Review but still continues to not call me back when I leave him messages. He is always away from his desk. I provided the materials to complete the covering of the refrigeration lines. All that is required is the fabrication (bending) of the sheet metal. Come on Bob... I unfortunately received the worst service I have ever experienced! I bought a new heater, air conditioner, and water heater from Comfort Now. Three months later, I noticed a leak from the system that soaked my wall to wall carpet drywall, and baseboard. I contacted Comfort Now, and their technician discovered 3 installation mistakes that caused the leak and Comfort Now contracted Stanley Steemer. When those folks arrived, they advised me that the damage was more severe they also discovered mold. Comfort Now sent another contractor that removed the baseboard, lifted the carpet (opening the seams) and found mold. Long story short...I went back and forth with Comfort Now for FOUR MORE MONTHS, but they never made the situation completely right!! I had to sell my house with ripped carpet and padding. read more

I spent thousands of dollars with Comfort Now on 2 occasions. The first occasion was fine. The second occasion was very disappointing. They replaced my AC and heating unit. Due to their error there was a significant leak, causing significant interior damage. While they repaired the damage eventually, management ( RJ) who previously was accessible when things were fine, did not return several calls/messages to discuss the significant inconvenience their faulty workmanship caused. Very disappointing accountability and I have changed my annual maintenance program to another service provider. I would not use Comfort Now again. read more

Called on a Wednesday for Air Conditioning and Henry was out on Thurs afternoon. Brianna on the phone was very professional, kind and explained everything. Henry came Thursday and problem was confirmed. Needed a part and would be able to put it in on Sat morning(of Memorial Day weekend). I had a total of 6 teenage girls that weekend stayin in the house so he was very empathetic and called the boss to get it expedited. He came Saturday and completed the work as promised. Henry was very nice, professional and explained everything in terms you could understand and delivered on what he said he was going to do. After calling several other hvac companies to replace my son's central air, we decided to go with Comfort Now. Other companies couldn't do it for 2-3 weeks and they said they could do it by the end of the week! I was a little leery but decided to go for it. They did even better! I had called them on Monday and they came on Wednesday promptly at 7 am and were finished by early afternoon. They were prompt, clean, neat and courteous. Took the necessary time - did not feel like this was a rush job - answered all questions and followed up on something I was concerned with that turned out to be a non-issue. This is the second service we have had with Cole and we are very pleased. We just added a service plan for our heater and Ac. Our Ac is 22 years old and this is the first service since we purchased our condo two years ago. Cole arrived on time, was polite and efficient, and gave us a clear description of the work he was going to do. He put on shoe covers to be sure he didn't track anything onto our carpets. He let us know additional services the company offers but was not aggressive in upselling us. Cole changed our filter, cleaned our air conditioner coils, and checked the pressure of our system. While he noted the system was old and probably not able to cope with extreme heat, he also said it was doing well on tests. All good news. We are totally happy with Cole's work. He is a great rep for any company. I also found Karen in the main office to be pleasant and very helpful. I think I found the right company to look over our equipment going forward. read more

My tenants have a problem with their heating system. I called Comfort Now since it was recommended to me by someone. I already have an idea why I cant get my old radiators to heat up (no water). So I started to bleed the radiator valves, the day before and was getting a lot of air however still cold radiators. So I figure I call the "expert" out and they can fix the problem easily. I called them, however they can not come out the same day because I'm not a "member" and was proceeded with a sales pitch to become a member. I politely declined. For them just to come out is $79, I was like fine since they are the expert and I'm paying for their expertise. I got a call around 2:00pm the next day saying the service guy is on his way, I told the lady "Ok i'm not at the property at the moment and will be there in 20mins, she said "fine". I got to property at 2:20pm and waited till 3pm to call them back, the lady now said he is an hour away! I waited another hour in my car for him. When he finally shows up I took him to the boiler room and told him the situation, he look at the system and told me the setup is really old and needs all kinds of updates since there's no shutoff valve to the return and that there is no way to bleed the air out from the system.(I thinking that's going to cost me a lot of money, there must be an alternative.) While he was taking some pictures and text it to someone more knowlegdgeable (I assume it's Bob), I told him we can bleed the air out from the radiators upstairs, so I ask him if he has a radiator valve key. He told me no, and ask me if i have one. I said "yes". We proceeded upstairs and I started to bleed the air out again starting from the back room. This time I can feel a lot more air coming out, more than last time and finally i was able to get some water out sporadically and the radiator was getting warmer! While i was bleeding the second radiator and he standing there down the hall, I ask him " Am I goin to be charge more than the diagnostic." He told me "NO, NO! you are not going to get charge more than the diagnostic fee!" I just dont want him to hang around watch me bleed air out of radiators and charge me for it since i figure it might be hourly. He ask me for the key to bleed the radiator next to the bathroom, which is down the hallway, so i gave it to him. Then, he proceeded to the boiler room to look at something, while i kept bleeding different radiators. He came upstair again and wasnt sure why the water arent coming out the other radiators so he gave bob a call, they talk for a bit and come up with the conclusion that my pressure valve is bad or something like that and need to replace to get more pressure since the boiler system is reading around 10psi and it should be around 15-20psi. I ask him how much that is going to cost, he told me they will call me for estimate and then he bascally packed up and left while I continue to bleed air out of the radiators from room to room. That was the solution and I was still left with some radiators with out heat. I was relunctant about evan paying for the diagontic charge because one he made me wake for an extra 1hr and half and then I have to give him a solution on how to bleed air out of the radiator in which i did all the work. But since I agreed I paid, no complaint. Now, in my mind I am only charged $79 fee, but this morning I got an alert saying I was charged $120 from Comfort Now. I was confused so I called them back the lady did some digging "oh the charge is for diagnostic and bleeding the air out of radiators." I was like what?! "But I did the work!" to be fair he did ask me for the key and open up ONE radiator valve for couple minutes. But I was already assure by him that there wont be extra charges! I told the lady this and she said she will find the reasoning. She calls me back 5mins later saying she talked to Bob and the other guy and said the charges stands. I was fustrated and ask if there's someone else that I can talk to because I think it's wrong and miss leading to tell me i'm not going to charge more than the diagnostic fee and turn around charge me for bleeding air out of the radiators. If he had told me there will be extra charges for bleeding air out of the radiators I would have said "No thanks! I can do that myself." So she told me she will talk to bob and have him call me. Instead, she called back and said, "Bob the and other guy feels the charged are correct, he was there 1hr and 20mins, however we can refund you the $41 dollars but we no long will provide anymore service to you" I said "Fine just refund me the money, thank you." So I was left with two choices of either pay or "dont call us again" attitude. To what other reviewer said; attentive, honest, knowledgeable and responsive. I saw none of that! If they dont want me as a customer they should refund me the entire $120 and not just $41. Not in any point of time was I ever rude to them. I just want it to be fair. read more

The bedrooms of my condo never got cool in the summer. I interviewed 5 vendors and got quotes. Comfort Now and others recommended a Mitsubishi 'split' system that delivers the cooling to a separate unit (with its own remote control) in each room . Comfort Now had the best price. They finished the job and did great and were easy and reliable to deal with. You can just barely tell they were there, all of the wires and pipes to each room were hidden in the ceiling and the closets. Now we can cool any or all of the rooms when needed. The initial test was this 4th of July weekend. The unit was quiet and our bedroom was perfect. I shouldn't have waited this long. read more

Horrible customer service and integrity for a company. I received a quote for a job and was told, part would have to be ordered and they receive it within a week. One month later i called back inquiring about this job and was told the part would be in by the end of the week again. By the end of the week i did not receive a call and again called them, left 3 messages in 5 days before i received a return call and was told part would be in by of the end of that week. At the end of that week i again inquired and was told part was in and they would call me for install appt by the end of the day-That was 3 weeks ago. Total time from quote to today has been 8 weeks and still nothing. In all i spoke with 2 -3 people from the office and Bob Mcallister several times who is the owner. I would now not allow them to touch anything in my house. This is extremely unprofessional !!!!!! read more

We had Comfort Now come out for a service call on our 19 year old system. The gentleman that came checked our heater and air conditioner out and recommended we look into a new system. They came out and gave us a price and said they could do it within a week. They were on time and efficient. Finished the whole job in one day. We have not been down since to experience the new system, but we have been very satisfied thus far. I fell and broke my back 5 weeks ago so am not sure when we will be back to the shore, but feel that we are in good hands should we encounter any problems. We would definitely recommend. read more
