Upon arriving at this conveniently located b&b (just a few minutes drive away from IWU), John and LeRoy immediately welcomed us into their home with warm hospitality, making sure that we had all the essentials and amenities necessary to have a comfortable stay (e.g. Wi-fi password, information about the house, extra blankets, etc.). We were made to feel like royalty by the several high-class amenities offered at the Inn including, specialty chocolates in the room, plush bathrobes, an assortment of magazines to read while in bed, and bubble bath for the jacuzzi tub. The special touches extended into each morning, too. We were treated to delicious breakfasts each morning set with a beautiful tablescape (and yes, as some one who loves to host herself, I noticed and appreciated that the dishes and flatware were different each morning). It is in the dining room that you are most able to appreciate the care and attention that the owners have put into preserving the history and integrity of their century old home. Beyond the tasty meal and beautiful view from the dining room, it was also our hosts' hospitality that put us at ease when we aren't normally used to eating with other guests whom we don't know; John broke the ice by conversing with the guests, telling us stories about the area, and providing entertainment suggestions when asked. I felt like this man really did me a favor. I give it 5 stars based on that. The hotel is solid beds clean room was clean. Easy access to and from the hotel . Given the location, I don't think the lack of a pool is an issue as noted by another reviewer. I think this place is geared towards people who just need a place for the night. Overall, it's very clean. It does have weird rooms with the sink as part of the main area instead of in the bathroom. I don't see any reason to complain about the cable. I don't even have cable at home, and the channels here seem fine. I'm happy to see the flat screen. I've been in budget hotels that still have tube tvs. Fridge and microwave in the room! The free wi fi has a great signal, which is a huge plus! And strangely enough... it's a two story hotel, with NO elevator. I have to assume anyone who is wheelchair bound is automatically put on the first floor. And my room does not seem to be designed with technology in mind. I had to unplug the clock radio to charge my computer. Definitely a lack of outlets. When I heard I was in a Super 8, I cringed, but it's definitely much better than expected.

We ended up wiping everything down once we got in around 9:00 at night. Maybe we should have gotten a $35 credit for checking in late and cleaning the room? If you are an early riser and the rest of your party sleeps in, don't bother using the bathroom fan, it's loud enough to wake those not only in your room, but also those in the rooms on either side of you! We stayed in the "North Room," which is the first room (all rooms are upstairs on the 2nd level) at the top of the stairs. It has a very comfy queen bed and ample space. My favorite feature is the clawfoot tub, a bath bomb was even included for those wanting a bath. The owners live on the 3rd floor so are always available. Visiting during Covid, we had a very safe stay as well. We got to choose our breakfast time and were served a grand breakfast to ourselves in the dining room. A breakfast-in-bed delivery option as well. Karen made a feast of a breakfast (French toast, eggs, bacon, fruit, and Tinker coffee!). Breakfast is included with the cost of room (which is very affordable!).
