It is apparent this hotel wasn't built as a Motel6, as it is nice, though like a former beauty, it has seen life and its frazzles. My room was unexpectedly large, even for former Comfort Suites! It was clean, and comfortable. The king size bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Unlike a typical M6, the neighbors were quiet too, maybe due to the noise insulation. There is a large closet, refrigerator, and a microwave. I didn't use the large screen Sanyo television, but did use the WiFi. The parking lot wasn't empty upon my 10:00 pm arrival, so its "out of the way" location kept it inviting. I would stay here again. The negatives you're thinking? No coffee maker in the room, no shampoo in the bath, no ironing board, or iron. I really had nothing to iron on this trip however. The tape on the working A/C unit isn't encouraging, though the ingenuity of the maintenance staff should be admired. read more

Google Traveler BEWARE! YOU ARE NOT SAFE AT THIS HOTEL! YOUR POSSESSIONS ARE NOT SAFE AT THIS HOTEL! YOU should report ALL illegal activities to Mineral Wells PD! This is not a Wyndham hotel no matter the sinage or what your receipt says, per the Mineral Wells PD! It is in fact a Motel 6 operating under the guise of a Baymount by Wyndham. This alone should be enough to make you NOT STAY, but incase it isn't I'll give you more. Check in area very nasty and men hanging in the lobby that doesn't belong there. Check in attendant (middle eastern woman) rude and took way to long (30 min) to get me checked in. Afterwards I attempted going to my room on 2nd floor, the elevator was in horrible condition smelled awful and seemed to have mechanical issues, it was long ride up one floor. Upon exiting elevator on 2nd floor the smell of chemicals was overwhelming and the only other time I've smelled such odor was after driving by a meth house that had exploded. You should be concerned!! I made it to the door of my room and looked down the hallway to see all the doors of the rooms appeared to be damaged a haze in the hallway and the sound of woman yelling from down the hall. After this I turned and got back on the elevator went down one floor and immediately to the check in desk where I told the woman I expected a full refund and she just smirked and shook her head no. I left! I called Wyndham corporate for customer service and they were perplexed about entire situation but took my info and said they'd call me back. I called the Mineral Wells PD where I was told MW Texas does not in fact have a Baymount by Wyndham hotel and when I presented them with invoice info they informed me it was in fact a Motel 6. And I was not the first one to report suspicious activity. I called Motel 6 to report incident, I also called my bank to which I've been informed they've debited my account 5 times. I have stayed there a few times, the place is fun down a bit but the pool is the best thing about the place except this time they closed the pool the next morning after checking in. I talked to the lady at the front desk and she explained that the filter is broke and won't be fixed for quite some time and they are not offering any discounts because it was beyond their control. I explained that we chose to stay there over other places because of the pool and she once again said that they are not allowed to give any compensation. Told two of my employees on a business trip to "eat a d***" because she was in a bad mood. Horrible owned business. This place is Motel 6. I came with option of a working spa tub. It doesn't work. They said the moter has been broken a while then why is it advertised. 3rd time I've been here. If I ever saw a hotel with potential this would be one however, that being said there is so much neglect in maintenance that it is very hard to overlook. Seeing old reviews of the same problems for years now lets me know this is mostly an ownership problem however there are maintenance related issues which could be corrected with proper staffing. None of these issues were forewarned at check-in. We stayed here so the boys could go swimming and be close to Mineral Wells State Park area. The money has just not been put into maintaining it. The spa was empty and not working, the heated pool was ice cold, the pool bath was out of order, the elevator was not working without flipping some switch in the mechanical room each time, the stairwells were dirty, the vending machines were empty, our 2nd floor room had mold on the vents of the a/c unit and filters were dirty with build-up on coils, no spare toilet paper and mostly empty rolls (ran out by morning) the sofa sleeper was in bad shape (we had two queen beds so didn't need to use it) and ceilings had leaks in the bathroom that had been poorly repaired. There were some good points to point out like... The breakfast bar had no issues, the room was clean and looked updated, the beds were very comfortable and made for a good nights rest, the price was good but not worth the inconveniences noted. For a major brand hotel with mostly quality standards to adhere to I am surprised they are allowed to operate under this flag. First time giving a yelp review but felt necessary to share the experience if I expect anything to change. The employees deserve better. read more

This is a Motel 6 now it's in horrible shape there is trash everywhere the pool was green not working they put us in the wrong room the first night that room had crayon all over fold out bed was broken and when you asked for sheets they said they don't supply them the ac was leaking too the new room was better at first look then there was no sheets again for fold out no pillows and no remote for the tv we asked for sheets and pillows to the morning person and she said she will have them put some in when we got back that night there was no sheets no pillows The girl downstairs called her girlfriend with her on the phone the entire time we were asking questions about the pillows and everything they said they don't have access to the closet because the cleaning crew takes the keys home so we all just went to sleep with no TV no or no pillows likely we brought our own pillows and blankets the next morning the woman apologized so that she had some pillows with no pillowcases she gave us a rollaway bed because of the pull out being broken so we had a bag and some pillows at this point we laughed and we got knocked out night everything seemed fine we went to sleep still no towels it was the same girl from the night before with the same girlfriend said they didn't have a key again but they gave us some pool towels went to sleep woke up the next morning with a headache nosebleed and sore throat went to turn the AC off because I thought it was just the cold air in some mold all on the side of the bed on the carpet in under the AC told the front desk lady in the morning at Check out all she told me to send pictures notify the manager I'll notify the manager on multiple times in multiple emails all I want is my money back read more

I traveled to Mineral Wells for business. I tried the Comfort Suites and I found it was pretty disappointing. When I showed up, there was a sign on the desk saying that the pool heater was broken (indoor pool) and that it would be too cold to swim in. When I asked about the hot tub, they told me it had not worked for quite some time. I was assigned a room on the second floor, and then they told me they were working on the elevator and it was not operational. I took the stairs to my room and start trying to get comfortable. I then found that the Internet did not work. I called the front desk, and they did not know how to fix the problem. They suggested, if I needed the Internet, I should go to the local McDonald's because they have free Internet. I eventually called their internet providers (it was in the binder in every room) and asked them to fix the problem. It did not get fixed. The rooms were nice and the bed was comfortable. The heating system was extremely loud, to the point I had turn it off in the middle of the night just to sleep. I was scheduled to stay there for four days, but checked out after one day. read more

After a long drive I was extremely happy to check in. I am a female and driving across country so I was very skeptical and picky about all the places I wanted to stay. I looked at reviews and went with the best ratings and closed building type of structures. My room was very clean and the ac was amazing. 1st time and last time to ever stay at this hotel. The hotel was dirty, carpets stained everywhere, saw bugs in the stairwell. Elevator was broken. The clerk has to flip a switch in the control room to get it to work. I later found out from a local that it was broken 2 years ago. Wonder if it was ever fixed. The sheets and towels while appeared clean had a yellow tinge to them. The fitness room has outdated equipment that barley works. Elliptical works but makes such a loud noise that it's not worth using. No free weights and the AC doesn't work in the room. You need to get a separate key from the desk to even get into the fitness room because the room key will not work. Pool had a light green color to it. Poor maintained property. The only positive was the staff were polite. read more

The price wasn't bad and the service wasn't either. However, the room wasn't the greatest. The internet was spotty, there was a hole in the bathroom floor, the sheets had a stain on them, and the peep hole on our door was broken so someone could just take it out. Been staying 4-5 times a month for over 3 years have seen this place go down hill from day 1. Today was the final stay. Rooms are not clean!!!!!!!! Every week we check in they have to move us around and find us a clean room. The new staff are not very nice. Sam the manager is no longer working here, he always took great care of us. The rates have also dropped $20plus a night which is a bonus, but we think we know why now ;( . We would return if Sam was back. The hole in the parking lot is getting bigger and bigger. This hotel was in a state of total disrepair. The lobby had a leak that clearly had been there for a long time and since it had rained there one of our party slipped and fell on the wet floor. The pool was so dirty you couldn't see the bottom, one of our rooms had a dirty sock in the couch bed, and another room had a hair between their sheets. There were stains on the carpets, bed skirts, and the towels. We had requested a block of rooms close together, but ended up all on separate floors. The manager did offer us a discount, but seemed unapologetic and unconcerned about the issues we brought to him. read more

We had originally booked our reservation with a competing hotel in the area for more space/beds and a better price. BUT we switched our reservation to Comfort Suites as we were on a homeschool field trip digging up fossils in Mineral Wells with our kids. We chose this hotel because the website said that they have an indoor heated pool. I even called the hotel directly to verify this. We were ok with paying more and having a smaller room if it meant that our kids would be able to hang out at the pool and swim for a while after our excursions in Mineral Wells. BUT we were told that the chemicals in the pool were too strong two nights in a row. This was on a Friday and Saturday night. The A/C was a window unit that made loud noise all night, and our in room fridge was broken the first day, so we had to take our coolers downstairs to the ice machine to refill the ice so we could save our food which we were depending on for dinners during our trip. If you are thinking about booking a room here for the indoor pool, then think again and get a better rate with more beds elsewhere. The only thing positive I can say about this place is that the beds were comfortable and the lounge area for breakfast was nice and food was always hot and fresh in the breakfast area. However you can get that at a lesser price elsewhere. read more

DO NOT EVER stay at Comfort Suites in Mineral Wells, TX!!! For that matter don't ever stay at any Comfort Suite or Choice Hotel. The kids and I were kicked out of the hotel for having our show rabbits with us last night at 9:30 p.m. We checked in and we settled in to our room for about 20 minutes before I get a call from the general manager that we need to leave the property because rabbits are not considered a pet and their pet policy only applies to dogs and cats. He is also the same person I spoke to on the phone before even making the reservation to make sure bringing the rabbits was okay! While I am at the front desk trying to get clarification on this madness he hangs up on the front desk clerk because he's a coward (Nick Desai) and can't handle the situation which is ridiculous so he leaves her standing there having to enforce something completely insane. Thank goodness for Best Western right next door that took us in with open arms at 9:45 at night, no pet fee, happy to have us and a cheaper rate! Do me a favor and stay away from Nick Desai, Comfort Suites and Choice Hotels so they know that people won't stand for being treated this way. It's simply unacceptable! read more
