I have been coming to this hotel every year on Labor Day weekend for the last nine years. This…read morehotel is under new management, with a general manager, who just does not give a damn. I am with a group that we have nine rooms rented and one of our members was trying to use the charger when the general manager accosted them and was very abrupt. Whatever happened to the customer is always right or in our case the guest is always right I reserve this room a year ago and I realized that these are requests but I had three request on my reservation to be on one the top floor to the south end of the hallway and three facing west will G one out of three I guess is considered OK as I am on the north end of the hallway facing the highway. With a cheap construction of this building, I hear every car driving down the highway every kid accelerating from the red light which is 75 feet from the property and every 18 wheeler and motorcycle motorcyclist racing down Highway 180 towards Dallas. As for the facility, looking at my door from the inside, the bottom has at least a 3/8 inch gap where you can look out into the hallway. The carpet does not look like it has been cleaned in this room and at least six months. On the positive the breakfast this morning was very good. The lady that does the breakfast preparation. Does a great job. The room was clean up upon arrival and was tidied up again today very nicely done. Since being here with the group and a local organization, the local organization looked into five hotels. The Best Western here was the most expensive. Based on past experience, we all picked this hotel even though it was the most expensive. Big mistake. Have not met the new owner , but can see where the elevator button is incorrectly placed on the first floor and has a gaping hole into the Wiring, wallpaper is peeling off the hallway and the pool area. Definitely needs some maintenance and updating.

My room was unexpectedly large, even for former Comfort Suites! It was clean, and comfortable. The king size bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Unlike a typical M6, the neighbors were quiet too, maybe due to the noise insulation. There is a large closet, refrigerator, and a microwave. I didn't use the large screen Sanyo television, but did use the WiFi. The parking lot wasn't empty upon my 10:00 pm arrival, so its "out of the way" location kept it inviting. I would stay here again. The negatives you're thinking? No coffee maker in the room, no shampoo in the bath, no ironing board, or iron. I really had nothing to iron on this trip however. The tape on the working A/C unit isn't encouraging, though the ingenuity of the maintenance staff should be admired.

Google Traveler BEWARE!…read moreYOU ARE NOT SAFE AT THIS HOTEL! YOUR POSSESSIONS ARE NOT SAFE AT THIS HOTEL! YOU should report ALL illegal activities to Mineral Wells PD! This is not a Wyndham hotel no matter the sinage or what your receipt says, per the Mineral Wells PD! It is in fact a Motel 6 operating under the guise of a Baymount by Wyndham. This alone should be enough to make you NOT STAY, but incase it isn't I'll give you more. Check in area very nasty and men hanging in the lobby that doesn't belong there. Check in attendant (middle eastern woman) rude and took way to long (30 min) to get me checked in. Afterwards I attempted going to my room on 2nd floor, the elevator was in horrible condition smelled awful and seemed to have mechanical issues, it was long ride up one floor. Upon exiting elevator on 2nd floor the smell of chemicals was overwhelming and the only other time I've smelled such odor was after driving by a meth house that had exploded. You should be concerned!! I made it to the door of my room and looked down the hallway to see all the doors of the rooms appeared to be damaged a haze in the hallway and the sound of woman yelling from down the hall. After this I turned and got back on the elevator went down one floor and immediately to the check in desk where I told the woman I expected a full refund and she just smirked and shook her head no. I left! I called Wyndham corporate for customer service and they were perplexed about entire situation but took my info and said they'd call me back. I called the Mineral Wells PD where I was told MW Texas does not in fact have a Baymount by Wyndham hotel and when I presented them with invoice info they informed me it was in fact a Motel 6. And I was not the first one to report suspicious activity. I called Motel 6 to report incident, I also called my bank to which I've been informed they've debited my account 5 times. You are not safe at this hotel! And I will update you when I have further information on the situation. YOU ARE NOT SAFE AT THIS HOTEL! Service1.0Location1.0

I gave it three stars due to location. The up front service was polite and friendly. Lots of good people smiles and attentive. Our waitress was pleasant and gave suggestions along the way. I was expecting a fabulous 5 star food experience. I was so disappointed. The food was a great disappointment, no flavor. The plating was a mess and not appealing at all. We had a party of four and only one person was pleased with their dinner. This was the Beet Salad. Sloppy plating, only about four beet slices, covered in micro greens, freeze dried chickpeas, and vinegar. The vinegar dressing overpowered the salad and it needed salt. For $15, I was so disappointed Soba Noodles was poorly plated. Down right ugly and unappealing. The person who ordered it, said it was plain. No taste and extremely vinegary. Such a disappointment. Broiled Salmon was plated just ok. The salmon was cooked well and had good simple flavor. I enjoyed it. The side was supposed to be butternut squash and broccolini. I got four butternut squash cubes and 1 tiny broccolini. The purée on the bottom was a vinegar butternut squash- very sour and not enjoyable. It did add to the dish at all. In between the butternut squash and broccolini, there was about 13 soggy croutons that made the sides look filled in but left the palate wanting more. I so dislike soggy bread, no matter what format it comes in. The whole plate was covered in micro-greens, as to hide the plating and make it look bigger than what it is. The New York strip was cooked to perfection and the polenta was tasty. However that whole plate was $55. Plated well and had really good flavor. This party member was the only one that enjoyed his food and experience. Out of the four of us, only one left satisfied with his meal. And that was the New York strip steak. The rest of us left hungry and unsatisfied with our dinners. We were hoping that our very souls would have been touched by the food of this particular Chef . We had heard so many great things about it, only to be incredibly disappointed. I will say that this restaurant is the most expensive, fanciest , nicest, AND CLEANEST restaurant in Mineral Wells. But the food is lacking. I'm sorry.
