When I got there, they set me in a chair, and told me they had to check on an insurance issue. ( I had same coverage for 3 years)! After 10 minutes of waiting in chair, I left the office! Returning Patient with Delta Insurance. I get my cleaning and pay my bill. I had to go back the next day because they didn't have enough time. Charged me another $95, because they over booked? So, I am having a crown put on and I tell the girl, put it through insurance, I have great insurance with Delta. She tells me I am out of network? So if I didn't ask a simple question, nobody was going to disclose they no longer accept Delta and stick me with a $1800 bill. Unfortunately nobody has responded and MetLife was put on hold twice today and disconnected both times. I am still waiting for a very large refund. MetLife sent me forms today to file a grievance because they are unable to get any answers on why they are holding MY MONEY hostage. Please do not give these people any more money than necessary. Make them file a pre-certification with your dental insurance and don't pay a penny above your estimated costs. I had an appointment with this office and felt I was treated rudely. I went there for a broken tooth. Waited for Dr Charlotte to come into the office for about 25 minutes when she finally came in she just spent a very short time telling me I need a crown didn't offer much other help than telling me a crown.. I have Metlife PPO and I had to pay $150 for my first visit for cleaning and x rays which should have been covered. Then they tried to sell me a $6000 invisaguard retainer to straighten my teeth. I went to the Venice office and had a regular cleaning scheduled nothing else as a new patient. They incorrectly verified my insurance as out of network when the DENTIST is in network! First screw up. Then they did stuff I did not authorize and billed my insurance $400 for a cleaning!!! I contacted the BBB and Attorney general about their shady business practice. I wish I'd read the reviews on Yelp before I went. My experience mirrors many of the bad reviews. They billed me 100% and then billed my insurance. When they received 50% back from my insurance, they did not let me know. They received the first payment in Oct 2023. I had appointments in Nov and Dec and thought I would owe something for each of these appointments. I was told I didn't owe anything but given no explanation. I questioned it both times and was just told I didn't owe anything. I went for a cleaning in Jan 2024, which I would have cancelled but didn't want to try to find a new dentist at that point. The Hygienist told me I would owe $170 for that day. Again, when I went to the front desk I was told I didn't owe anything. When I questioned why, I was finally told that I had a $1,400 credit on my account. I asked how that was possible and was told they received more from my insurance when a had a molar worked on. I then went home and went through all my EOBs, which I should have done before. It turns out they received $2,500 from my insurance. I call and asked to speak with someone in charge of billing. Two weeks later and no phone call. I went into the office and was told the person I needed to talk to was at "company headquarters" and would be back in that afternoon. I asked why no one called to tell me that previously. They didn't know. That person did call me and told me she just got back from vacation. You might want to all be on the same page! She also told me that they only let a patient know that there was a credit on their account once the insurance claim has been closed out. I explained that this was an issue because I used 2023 FSA dollars to pay part of that bill, so now I owe more in income taxes and am accruing penalties every day that I don't receive my money back. She asked me what I wanted and I said I wanted an apology and to know this was not the correct way to handle this whole process. She said she did apologize if I was upset. There was no question that I was upset. Throwing in the "if" puts the accountability of the situation back on me and not on them at all. Worst dental office experience ever. My first inclination to find another dentist was when Dr. Beazell was training someone and said, "Most of our patients don't care what their teeth look like, so we just try to keep them as healthy as possible." May well be true, but you should probably say things like that out of hearing of your patients. I should have cancelled any more appointments at that time. Lesson learned. read more

My first time using them! They are awesome. The staff made me feel at ease with all the work I needed to have done. They even helped me considering I was on crutches. Everyone was great, from the moment I walked in the front door to the time they helped me out to my vehicle. It was a very enjoyable visit.... as enjoyable as going to the dentist can be. I will be back in 3 weeks to start my journey to a healthy mouth! UPDATE: I have been to this dentist office twice and I will be back again. The staff is absolutely amazing. My first visit went great, I was supposed to go in for an evaluation. the staff ended up making room for me, to have a cleaning (which I desperately needed). I ended up over paying for my visit. when I asked about it they already applied my credit to my account. My most recent visit is what prompted my review. I went to have my wisdom teeth pulled, I was so nervous. Once I was in the chair I realized I had forgot my headphones and there was no way I could have this done. Even for a normal cleaning I have to have them. I apologized to Dr. McCarty explaining I couldnt go through with the pulling, she said nonsense and let me borrow hers. Biggest issue for me was the lack of transparency regarding billing. I go in for a simple cleaning and xrays which are all covered by insurance. They then say 'we are going to do a cancer screening'. Remember I am in the chair and have not been consulted previously on what my insurance will or will not cover. I had signed a 'standard of care' document however no one asked me about what I would be charged or not charged. This took about 30 seconds. After everything has finished my bill is over $100. Equivalent to $200 a minute. I had been charged for the screening without my consent. Save to say no refund of course and no acceptance of blame. The pros are, good dentist, nice personal, clean office. Cons are delayed treatment, we were waiting well over an hour for a scheduled filling. The billing is a Nightmare! For minor work, 1 filling and cleanings, I've never incurred such additional expenses before. Months of notifications and phone calls on both treatments during the year. After contacting them only to be told there were common delays of up to 6 months to be paid, why badger us? With over 40 years of dental care I've never experience this kind of operation. I have been going to this dental practice for the past 5 or 6 years. In that time I have had to change dentists 3 times, because my dentist has left the practice or been reassigned to another office. My last visit I was introduced to a 4 th dentist. A clerk came in and started telling me that the dentist recommended that I have 3 teeth capped. The clerk starts asking me how I plan to pay for this! I told her that I had no intention about making an appt to have them capped at this time. She kept pushing me and followed me to the check out where I was trying to pay my bill, and started telling the billing clerk to set up my appt for my caps. Needless to say, I took umbrage at the brazenness of that person and told her that I would think about it, just to get away from her. I received a call today and spent about 5 minutes on the phone with someone in the office who told me that Dr Brantley had told her to call me and find out if I had made a decision yet????? I was told by the first clerk that if I didn't have the caps done, before I have trouble and need a root canal, it could cost as much as $5000. The bottom line is that I told the person that called me today that I was not interested in caps at this time and that because Dr. Kenneth DiCarlo is no longer working there, that I may decide to go to another dental office. She then told me that my files are being closed and that I am REJECTED from the dental office!!!!!!!! What a disappointment! Being a new patient I was appalled on how I was treated at the Venice office. My appointment was scheduled 2 months earlier for a check up and cleaning. When I entered the office today, I was called back into the office and told my appointment was canceled because they did not have my insurance information. The receptionist, at first, told me they called multiple times asking me for it. I told them that I did receive ONE call and that the following day I called back and left a message. I never heard back so I thought everything was okay. When I asked them why I couldn't be seen today, at my scheduled appointment I got no answer. *****COMFORTABLE CARE DENTAL****STAY AWAY!!!!***** Horrendous experience at Comfortable Care Dental on Jacaranda. First experience (cleaning) was wonderful but second they crashed and burned. #1. I was left sitting (probably for close to an hour in total) due to dentist being repeatedly interrupted and attending to others. #2. I was left sitting with mold in my mouth for an extended period of time until I walked into hallway because I was choking. #3. I was left with a tech that left with me a bruised cheek and angry, inflamed gum. #4. Upon check out the woman behind the desk said "Oh, are you finally leaving, Elaine?" I know she was trying to be funny but there was NOTHING funny about it. #5. The office manager totally agreed my experience was inexcusable and asked what could be done to "make it right?". I replied "A credit". #6. The temporary cap came off FIVE days later on a Sunday. I called the answering service and was told the MD would "call back". I have NEVER received the call. The following day I went in and the cap was reglued. #7. FIVE days later the cap came off again (Friday this time!). At least the dentist called me back this time and told me she'd meet me at 7 to reglue it. AGAIN!. She arrived at 7:25!!! #8. Finally, the permanent cap came in. I told the dentist I didn't have confidence that it would stay and she told me "they'd make it right."!!! #9. Today I received a call from a manager that was extremely rude and told me this was "the norm"! THE NORM!!! She offered a 5% discount on my next service. I replied that was not ok to which she replied they "had gone above and beyond"!!! I am a new patient to Comfortable Care. We recently moved to the area and found them through our insurance. So far, I am very pleased. I had x-rays and cleaning yesterday with state of the art equipment where it was discovered I had a broken tooth which needed a cap and an old filling that needed repair. I have issues with dry mouth so these problems were not unexpected. They had an opening today to replace the old filling and do the temporary cap. They took me right away and were finished with both problem in less than one hour. I have had Caps before, but never have I had someone discuss the care of the temporary cap so thoroughly. I was warned multiple times that it is temporary and to avoid hot food and drink until the permanent replacement is in place. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, including the front office staff. I rated 4 stars because I am so new. I will update it after my permanent cap is in place but I only expect it to improve. read more

I can't say enough about this office in its entirety. My top left molar cracked in half on a Friday, as I was in Venice visiting my parents for a few days. I actually live on a small island in the Caribbean, so to schedule a root canal and what not, is just a bit of a logistical nightmare, and extremely time consuming, etc... The front office, the staff, and the dentist(s) were all overly accommodating, and found a way to fit me in, and complete the root canal, so my travel day wasn't full of pain, and I could come back to work, without having to worry about this hanging over my head. The care, professionalism, quality of work, and overall customer service (from top to bottom) was beyond impressive, and I highly recommend utilizing their services. I never thought I would be happy or full of praise after a root canal, but this office and its staff are extremely deserving of thanks and praise. read more
