Outstanding service. Without any hesitation, set up a call with Catherine. She'll come to your home to meet you and your pets and from the moment she walks in you'll be impressed with her character and exceptional organization. We were lucky enough to work with Catherine several times - the first a weeklong trip followed by two days here and there. We have three (spoiled) rescue cats. We switched to wet food and they're fed twice daily. I thought she would be coming by to hit the litter box and feed them, but she also has a list of things she'd do each visit: Play time, love, etc. Just when my mind would start to wander and wonder how my furballs were doing, she would send a quick text and a pic of our little pride. For each day she came, she provided a list of what was accomplished and a brief summary re: their behavior. Bonus: she's an energy healer. Who doesn't want someone like that taking care of your cats? Why didn't I make energy healer/cat sitter my career path? I digress. The only downside is she's wise enough to not cross the bridge and we just moved to Portland. I have had the pleasure to work with Catherine for almost a year now. She's looked over my two cats (Kitty and Bruce) on three separate occasions so far and I don't plan on looking for a new sitter. Since my family lives in New Hampshire and California I try to spend at least a week with them. It's hard to leave the cats behind, but my worries are eased when I get picture texts from Catherine. Our first meeting was the consultation where she met the cats and went through their routine. She was very sweet and suggested some toys I could purchase to make the most out of playtime during her visits. From the get, I could see her kind hearted nature and how she truly cares for their well being. Not only will she text you updates/pictures during her visits, it's so nice to come home to her daily notes on how the cats are doing without their cat-mom. She truly goes above and beyond. She also gave me the option for her to hold onto my apartment keys. If there was ever an emergency, I could just contact her and she'd be able to watch them right away without a key exchange. I was a bit skeptical about another person having the keys to my home, but just after the first time she watched the cats, I had no issues. It has been such a convenience to just text her about her availability and be able to rely on her to be there. I highly recommend Comforts At Home pet sitting. Catherine is great - she takes great care of your pets and sends you daily photos and updates that let you see your pet is doing well. I love the little checklists and notes she leaves each day summarizing the visit, it's fun to read the story they tell especially after a long trip. It is hard to review a business that refuses to give you service, but I feel obligated to do so anyway. I called Katherine to request dog sitting for a late notice business trip. At first she seemed interested, but once I told her my boy Roscoe was a recently aquired German Shepherd from a shelter, she refused service. She said something about him possibly being unpredictable, dangerous,blah,blah, blah. If she had met my dog, and he attacked her, then I would understand. But she wasn't even willing to meet him. I can tell you the most violent thing Roscoe has done to anyone is lean on them, begging for pets and affection. It feels good to rescue an animal from a shelter that would have otherwise been destroyed, but I guess a lot of people consider these animals rejects and second class pet citizens. Based on this businesses' previous reviews I've seen on google, it looks like they prefer cats. Maybe dogs are too much work?If they aren't willing to provide service for dogs/German Shepherds/rescue animals or any combination of that, then they should state it on their website. Based on my dealings with this business, I wouldn't trust them to care for a Pet Rock. read more

My husband and I have always had only great things to say about Catherine and Comforts At Home Pet Sitting. She is honest, diligent, flexible, caring, and sensitive to both human and animal situations. Earlier this year, I gave birth to our first child. Catherine was kind enough to be "on-call" to care for our cat and dog while we were at the hospital.
