I really liked Tiny's until something went wrong. We have four cats who have stayed at Tiny's probably four times. We had a vacation planned for this week over new years, but had to cancel last minute. We had no warning, and my wife asked me to call Tiny's since she couldn't stop crying. I called Tiny's within 20 minutes of us finding out. I was apologetic. My voice was shaking because I was pretty disappointed too. I explained the situation and said that I was very sorry, I understood we wouldn't get our $150 deposit back and again, I'm very sorry. Denise at Tiny's was very quiet through the whole interaction, at the end all she said was "I'm sorry to hear about your trip" Two minutes later I hear my wife burst out sobbing again. They sent her a text message letting us know that they no longer wanted us as clients. If I had known, or Denise given any indication on the phone I would have tried to make it right. I probably would have paid the whole amount because Tiny's is convenient and we've enjoyed patronizing their business. There was no warning, Denise decided to punch my wife in the stomach over a lost $450 after keeping our deposit, while we were in the middle of cancelling 12k worth of reservations. I would have been totally fine with paying ahead of time, we've spent a lot of money there, but instead of discussing financial impact, expressing any displeasure whatsoever, or giving us a chance to repair the relationship, Denise retaliated viciously. She had the opportunity to discuss any concerns with me on the phone, but decided instead to text my crying wife. I have advocated for this business, I have suggested it to friends. I regret that, because they clearly have zero respect for their customers. Denise made a terrible day worse with zero thought for her customers. Denise told us to get lost during our worst day in recent memory with no remorse. I will not be patronizing this business further, and I hope anyone reading this takes their behavior into consideration before doing business with Denise. She may care about cats, but clearly doesn't care about customers. read more

Trigger Warning: Traumatic Injury and Euthanasia *Update - owner says in comment below from their POV cat left intact because husband did not say anything when he picked her up. She did not walk until she exited the carrier. The cat was dropped off with no skeletal injury and came home with a spiral fracture on her left hind tibia and fibula. The fact the owner insinuates anything other than that is another reminder to take your business and your pet's life elsewhere. We left our cat at Tiny's healthy and able to walk over the weekend, and upon pick-up she was unable to walk with a severe inoperable injury and we were forced to euthanize her over severe pain. Please - our guilt at leaving our baby at this business is heavy, so please be sure to do your due diligence when thinking about leaving your loved one here. Our 19 year-old sweet baby grey girl had recently gone blind and we had to leave her over the weekend with Tiny's place for a second time. The first time was without incident. This time, she was dropped off on a Friday afternoon in good health other than blindness and generally a bit slower than her last visit. She has not jumped on anything for several months as her blindness set in. We received one photo (attached) of our girl on Monday evening where she appears unwell. On Tuesday afternoon, we picked her up at closing time (5pm) and her blanket was full of urine. When we got home and she left the carrier, she had a severe limp on her left hind leg. We took her to the urgent care at our vet, who x-rayed and diagnosed a spiral fracture of the tibia/fibula of her left hind leg (picture attached), an injury often seen in traumatic motor vehicle accidents or large amounts of twisting force. The vet said the break looked indicative of being stepped on or pulled while the leg was in place. It was deemed inoperable and she was given pain medication and the opinion to euthanize to end her suffering as the most humane option. When we called Tiny's, Kendrick was not aware of any such injury despite the severity of it (it was very obvious when she walked with a severe limp and she needed help to use the litter box). Denise the owner called back promptly and denied knowing anything about such a severe injury. She said that Kendrick was adamant about cleaning bedding twice a day, but we picked up at closing and her bed was urine-soaked. She mentioned first that Angel did not leave the enclosure all weekend, but then said later that she did walk to the threshold to drink water. We gathered her belongings and spent the evening looking at pictures, sharing songs from favorite memories with her, showing her her favorite old toys, letting our daughter and family members say goodbye, and helping her to the bathroom and took her on her last walk in my arms at sunset. I talked through all of the different cities and homes she had lived with me throughout my 20s and 30s - she knew me from college and as I transformed into who I am today. It was so difficult to say goodbye so suddenly and to have to make that decision when she was healthy in other regards - it was terrible. If you are in need of in-home end of life services, we can't recommend Compassionate Care enough, they were able to come just hours after getting the call and came right into her bed and very slowly and sweetly talked us through each step. We will never know exactly what happened, but we do know that we'll never get our time with our girl back or our vet bill for diagnostics and end of life care. She had 9 lives - she first survived living on the streets when I adopted her at 6 weeks old in 2003, and since then has overcome hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, getting lost in another country, blindness - so to have this be her ending when it wasn't her time yet was so hard. I recommend thoroughly vetting your boarding choices - there are choices that pay high attention to your loved ones in the Portland/Vancouver area and might be able to report to you how such a traumatic injury happened in their care. Or consider in-home care instead - we will only do that moving forward if we get a new furry friend. read more

I used Tiny's place for a second time, this year, for my 3 new cats while my family and I went to Rockaway Beach for the weekend. My youngest cat has epilepsy. I was hesitant about leaving him, but I knew that I needed a break and I knew that he would be in good hands. Finnegan did well all weekend while Kendrick attended to him with his medication. I received daily check-ins and pictures of my cats to ease my anxiety. I have nothing but high praise for Tiny's Place. They are very personable, and it helps that they are willing to accept pets that receive medication. I love how much space my cats get at Tiny's, and it was an extra treat that they put Feliway in the carriers to ease the anxiety for my babies on the way home. Feline only boarding places are rare in the first place. It's also hard to find a boarding place willing to accept a pet who needs medication. If you have a feline you need to put in boarding so you can vacay, send them to Tiny's. Denise and Kendrick are wonderful people! read more

My cats stayed for 2 nights. Never again. This is not an easy review to write. When I asked (via text) for an update I got "They're doing okay. They're thriving pretty good. " When I picked them up they were hiding in the corner. Cat #1 in front eyes dilated, hissing. Cat #2 hiding behind him. THEN I was told "They've been like that the whole time." My own cat did not recognize me or my voice. He hissed until he smelled me. When we got home his voice was hoarse. Why? I don't know. Not ONCE did they contact me to ask me how to help my cats be more comfortable. Cat #2 needs Miralax and Fluoxetine. She didn't get either because Owner reluctant to administer oral Fluoxetine (cat is skittish) & thought other cat would eat food & get diarrhea from Miralax. To be fair, this was discussed at drop off. However, I've boarded them elsewhere and this wasn't a problem. They also did fine at the other place (I got photos of them relaxing and napping). I have used Tiny's place twice now while traveling for care of my two cats. I was pretty impressed with their first visit other than they were not give any of their treats as the bag remained unopened. And I was also told that I would received updates on how they were doing but had to reach out to get those updates. But they were returned safe. The second trip things seemed fine, they were given their treats, again I had to press for updates on them. The day after retuning home one can became ill with vomiting and diarrhea, within two days the second cat became ill. I called Tiny's inquiring about this and asked if they had seen another cats ill. I was told not at all. After several hundred dollars on testing and visits to the vet they could not tell me what it was but it did clear up after a week and they are fine now. I think what bothers me the most is I called, she knew my cats were ill after visiting there and never called me back to see if they were okay. Warning, long but necessary review... This is difficult for me to write without feeling very emotional because my husband and I love our young adult cat like we would our own child. He won over our hearts at just 7 weeks old and at the time, we were in search of a puppy... yes, he's that special.... having said that, I feel deeply motivated to leave this thorough review so that if it helps even one person make a very informed decision, then its completely worth it. The representatives at Tiny's Place blatantly lied and conducted business in such a deceitful manner. This is highly alarming when their primary responsibility is to care for their customers loved ones... I love my little boy dearly and I am so glad this company revealed their true colors before I left him in their care! My husband and I usually have family watch our one year old kitten if we're out of town for business. I've never boarded him and was hesitate to from stories I've heard from friends. Last month, (in January) I googled "cat boarding" read the reviews for Tiny's place and thought "Wow! they seem like a wonderful place" so I called and made a "day before" reservation on January 3rd. About an hour later, our dear neighbor found out I was boarding our little guy and offered to take care of him instead. I quickly called Tiny's place back and left a voicemail that we no longer needed to board our cat and would likely use their service in the future. Tiny's place reached out the next day and stated in a text message to me that they "didn't receive it" Fast forward to today... My husband and I are leaving town tomorrow for 10 days and our family member who planned to care for our little guy, called me at work and had to cancel last minute! I text my husband in a panic to start calling boarding places while I did the same on my end at work. My husband and I immediately start calling around to boarding places in the nearby area, including Portland. The first number I called was Tinys place remembering how they were able to take a day before reservation. No one answered and the answering machine message said to call or text a different number. I left a text message asking for boarding for tomorrow to February 20th. The person immediately replied "we are unfortunately full at this time." Although disappointed, I accepted that and moved on to calling other boarding places. One hour later, my husband calls me to tell me that I'm somehow on Tiny's Place's "no board list"... Shocked, I asked what he was talking about and he said he had just hung up with Tinys Place after calling to see if they had availability and after telling my husband "yes, we have room and can take him tomorrow" and then after looking up our cats information, they then told him "oh, looks like your cat is on our no board list for a no call/no show on January 4th. My husband thought it was a mistake as we've never boarded our little guy before. In short, I texted Tiny's Place to see what was going on since they text me that they were full and they admitted through text to me that they lied. Tiny's Place could have easily just text me that I was placed on their "no board list" and needed to follow protocol but instead chose to conduct business dishonestly. and rather than owning their mistake or apologizing for their dishonesty, Tiny's Place then proceeded to text me "that having a second party call them after they told me they were full was also dishonest."... I quickly straightened their facts as this was not what happened... Yet again, a poor display of character and shady business by the people running Tiny's Place. I wish there was an option to attach copies of the text messages between Tiny's Place and myself for all to see and make an informed decision if this is the type of place you want to entrust your beloved kitten with. Feel free to see them on my google review if you feel it will help. I urge you to consider what lengths Tiny's Place would go to, to cover up any mishaps with your loved one while in their care... if Tiny's Place is blatantly willing to lie and admit it through text, during a simple availability inquiry, then I cannot imagine what disregard or neglect they would have shown our sweet little kitten if he were in their care... read more

My husband and I actually dream of opening a cat boarding place. We are extremely picky and this is the only place we've ever found that we love! Every aspect of the cat boarding process was awesome. The decor is calming, classy and peaceful. The cat rooms are spacious and even the smallest, most affordable rooms have SO much space. I was so stressed about who would take care of Frank, our elderly special needs cat, while we were on vacation for 2.5 weeks, but thank goodness I found Tiny's Place! Denise and her staff took such great care of him. They sent me pictures while we were gone, and even called me with advise for his future care. When I picked Frank up, I could tell he had made a bond with those there, which was more than I could have hoped for. Plus, he came home looking healthier than when I dropped him off. Tiny's Place is a wonderful boarding facility run by a lovely dedicated lady. We were among her first clients but Denise has the facility running smoothly. We boarded our 4 cats in the Purrsedential Suite and they loved it - plenty of space to sleep, hide, climb, and observe their surroundings. And the cats loved their time in the playroom - further exploring and playing. The Suite has a power outlet so we were able to bring a heated bed for our old boy. And Denise was able to administer his meds without any difficulty. We (and our kitties) were extremely pleased with our boarding experience. Her experience and technical training allows her to provide medicated cat boarding which is unlike most of the facilities in the area. Her facility is very functional and geared towards the best possible experience for your feline friend. Amazing new cat boarding facility with a former vet tech owner who designed and built this excellent facility that can also take care of cats who need daily medication. I have never boarded my cat and our regular pet sitter had surgery. Tiny's Place is truly luxurious- private good sized rooms all with climbing trees to a cool skybox for viewing. It is very clean, safe and well lit. Denise the owner, clearly loves her 'guests' as me sent me daily updates and photos. I highly recommend this lovely boarding facility! read more
