This place makes me so happy! I came there this past week to try and find some plates. They have…read moreeverything you could possibly need. I can't believe how organized everyone's section is. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It put me in the best mood once I left. Will return!

This place has a lot of great antiques (usually too pricey, but sometimes can find a deal on…read moresomething). However, I went in the other day and found a lampshade on a shelf that I liked that happened to not be priced. As a person that regularly frequents thrift and antique stores, I understand that if it's not priced then it's either not for sale or someone ripped the price tag off and thus, it's not for sale at this time. I went up to the counter where THE OWNER was sitting and I basically said "I understand if you can't sell this to me since it's not priced but I am interested!" The owner responded rudely and said that the reason it's not priced is because I took it off the base of the lamp where the price is. I said "Oh, I didn't take it off the lamp, it was by itself on the shelf." She huffed and rudely said, "Yes you did... I should know, it's my store!!!!" At that point, it wasn't worth fighting for so I turned around and put it back where I found it (on a shelf with 5+ other solo lampshades). On my way out, she tried to THEN haggle me and offered me $10 for the lampshade and then offered unsolicited advice that I should really bring in the lamp if I'm looking for a lampshade. I said no thank you and left. I don't need to be lectured and accused of something at an antique store filled to the BRIM with items. Antiquing is supposed to be a fun way to find old treasures and functional items for your home.

I was simply looking for help as she left the front counter unattended. Unfortunately I had a similar issue at Commack Savers. I asked older women price for some old coins and currency and surprisingly was told not for sale and I asked why and she said she was buying all for herself. She had always been pleasant to me and I blame management/ownership as she very casually answered me and upon waiting outside for Uber i witnessed young men who take drive up donations openly talking some old video games and a cool old boom box radio and bringing inside saying that they were buying and had made a big score. I will give Salvation Army 1 more try and Savers fortunately gets so many donations I have been able to find some great items very cheaply. The best deals by far are on very large items that they put outside or just inside the door. I suppose they price incredibly cheaply simply because they must sell fast because of the large size they must turn over asap. Happy Hunting

Whom I would assume was the owner of this store was so awful and dismissive…read more For reference I am a young lady and showed up in workout clothes (I had just came from a class). I operate an online vintage designer boutique and had some inventory I didn't turn over that I originally brought to Plato's Closet. l I realized that they are not like the shops in the city and mostly take fast fashion so I was so excited to see Act II only a few miles away. I walked in with my bag of clothes and the owner informed me that she was by appointment only which is fine, I asked to make an appointment. She said she would take a look since I was there. I let her know that not all of the clothes in the bag would be for her but she should take a look as I had some great stuff. She proceeded to pull 2 things out of my bag like they had cooties and exclaimed I DONT TAKE STUFF LIKE THIS I CANT LOOK AT THIS IF THEY WERE FOLDED OR ON HANGERS. I explained to her like I said I was at Plato's so that is how they were put back in the bag. I want to add here the entire corner of her store by the window was full of clothes in bags on the floor. She proceeded to refuse to look through the rest of my items after I told her I had a bunch of Theory, Tanya Taylor, and Frame Jeans. So she wouldn't give me an appointment but wouldn't look at my things as is? I believe she had an idea about me the second I walked into the store based on my appearance. I wasn't aware I would be meeting the queen. I have been working in luxury fashion for the past 6 years and am a collector of vintage designer items and would have been happy to be a customer and possibly a frequent consigner to this store if the owner did not develop such a rude preconceived notion. Although I did not feel inclined to look around judging by the yelp photos of the inside it looks to be a lot of Michael Kors outlet and shoes I can get a better price on at Marshall's so she may have not known Max Mara or Alberta Ferretti of it hit her in the face anyway!

Wow ! The clothes are so well organized and exquisite. Patrice is having a fantastic 50% off…read moresale, so I had to stop by and see what she has. I've been here many time and got some beautiful clothes. This store features name brands, European brands, some unknown designers but one thing I can say is that a lot of the clothes are "show-stoppers". I'm a performer and find things that are really special for stage.
