I didn't even finish it because it didn't taste good. The coffee shop vibe is cool since they have a lot of art and cool stuff on the walls like a collectible toy car case. Maybe to sit here and work would be nice. Possibly ordering something different than the Grasshopper (which is one of their signature drinks, let that be known) next time might work but I'm not planning on coming back to this coffee shop. This place was recommended to me as well but there are plenty of other coffee shops that I will be visiting in Augusta.

McDonalds is better.

As they state, they've "...explored every corner of the state to bring you the best of South Carolina," and from what I've seen they have done that and then some. It's a really big store and has most everything one can think of that would be South Carolina related and most of the goods are of superior quality, not just cheap Chinese built trinkets. But the best part is the selection. They have everything from jewelry to clothing to home decorator items and the staff is more than willing to assist. It's really one of the better shops I've seen within or a part of any public museum.

Sitting along busy Central Avenue, it's actually pretty easy to pass right by if you aren't looking for it. From the outside, it looks like what it is -- an old Augusta bungalow that found a second life as a neighborhood coffeehouse. Walk inside, though, and something happens. Everything slows down. The rooms are small. The furniture doesn't necessarily match. The chairs look like thousands of people have already found their favorite position in them. There's a porch, little tables tucked into different spaces, and none of it feels staged or designed to manufacture some trendy "coffeehouse aesthetic." In fact, I noticed something while sitting here: I don't see electrical outlets conveniently positioned at every table. I don't see a sea of laptops. Instead, I hear locals talking about doctor appointments, seeing the grandkids this weekend, and how ridiculously hot Augusta has been. People are simply here. I came in expecting to grab a coffee and leave. I have places to go and things to do today. But I sat down. Then I started looking around. Then I realized I didn't really want to leave. At some point they had probably been calling my drink for several minutes and I hadn't even noticed. And then I ordered a second coffee. That might be the best review I can give Buona Caffe. The coffee itself is absolutely on point. The staff knows what they're serving, makes thoughtful recommendations and genuinely seems to care about getting it right. But what makes this place special is everything surrounding the cup. It almost feels like they don't completely realize what they have here -- or maybe they do and simply have no desire to make it anything more than what it already is. As this part of Augusta continues to grow, with new homes and businesses coming into the area, I hope places like Buona Caffe remain exactly as they are. Sometimes you need a place between where you've been and wherever you have to go next. Somewhere neutral where you can sit down, let a little time pass, decompress and breathe before heading back out onto Central Avenue. Buona Caffe is that place.

I stopped by Ubora in Augusta with a couple of friends and was really impressed! I ordered their signature Calico coffee, and it did not disappoint smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. You can tell they put thought into their specialty drinks. One friend got the bacon sandwich and said it was fresh, hearty, and hit the spot, while my other friends went for the iced coffee cream toffee and the pumpkin spice coffee. Both of them loved their drinks especially the toffee one was creamy and tasty, and the pumpkin spice had all the cozy fall vibes without being overly sweet. The atmosphere inside Ubora is super inviting modern but comfortable, perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. The staff was friendly and patient with us while we decided what to order, which I really appreciated. Overall, this place is a gem in Augusta. If you're looking for a coffee spot with creative drinks, tasty food, and a welcoming vibe, Ubora should definitely be on your list. I'll be back for another Calico soon! read more

Dear Walter, i didn't like the way you treated that young man 1/14/20 he seemed like a nice man, and he came there to work, even ordered a coffee, he left as soon as he got his coffee, he asked you to leave him alone, in fact he didn't know what you were talking about. i don't know everything you said to him, but I'm seeing passive-aggressive behavior from you quite often and that's not okay, you don't treat a customer or old employee like that, and even if he did or didn't Critique someone, he's a customer! he paid for a product! and if it was not good, he has the right to say so or get his money back! and that is no reason to threaten someone, karma is a butt! i hope that you learn your lesson or you are going to lose a lot of business ! tom. read more

There were two baristas working when I arrived and no one was in line. The counter doesn't have a clear order area and the baristas didn't acknowledge me or guide me at all. It felt like I was walking in after they closed. I eventually settled on a pourover to go with the expectation that it would take a little longer, but not 15 minutes. After trying it, I was disappointed. It tasted watered down without any redeeming qualities. I'll give them another try and hope it was just a bad day. read more
