Terrible, terrible customer service. You couldn't pay me to go back to this bank (thankfully, they don't exist in Texas!).

They then said, "Gee, sorry, there's nothing we can do about it now." Nightmare. A few weeks ago, I tried to cash an ENDORSED check from my husband drawn on our JOINT account and the middle-age cashier demanded that he be there in person to "verify" it. omg the lunacy. The employees are incredibly slow and clueless. The 32nd Street branch is abominable . AVOID IT.

I tried to make a payment change online only to find out that at Arvest, this is not possible. Arvest requires that all changes to payment sources require that the customer fill out a paper form with signature for any payments and this includes updating expiring credit card payments. To make matters worse, the form come in the mail in 5-7 days and then must be mailed back making the conversion time as long as 2-4 weeks. With every other bank in the US (that I know of), payments can be changed on line without the contact and assistance of personal customer service help by logging in online, entering payment updates, and hitting the "OK" button. With Arvest it means calling their customer service number, going through robots asking multiple questions, getting put on hold for 15 minutes and finally getting to talk to a human at which time the reason for the call has to be repeated, explained and if lucky, getting to someone competent to complete the request. In my case, no such luck. I was told that the paper form would be sent to me via mail and I asked if they could also send via email (email has now been in use for 30 years but Arvest prefers paper, envelopes and stamps) and as of today those letters and emails never came. I this that Arvest should consider moving into a business more aligned with their internal talents and capabilities such as a lemonade stand that only accepts cash and exact change only. At the end of each day, they can fill their paper bank rolls of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters light grandma did back in the 1960's. I believe that they can do this well. Otherwise, my suggestion is to work with organizations like Chase, BOA, Wells Fargo and others. Arvest is just not good at banking.
