This newly constructed Commerce is 5 steps above the old building. Although the old building wasn't horrible a facelift was certainly in order. This new facility looks amazing. The interior is complete with the usual literature along with hot coffee & snacks. The staff was very welcoming. Your transactions are all televised; I loved it. It takes forrrrrever to get to a "teller" (actually a machine) to deposit a check. The inside has 4 of them but only one or two are ever open. It's ridiculous. I waited over 30 min to deposit a check! If I had been able to do it with the mobile app, I would have, but it was over the limit. Stay away from this mess unless you have an hour. read more

I have only patronized the ATM (never inside). The parking lot is well-lit and pavement is smooth. The ATM functions as expected. Exiting/entering: Be careful when exiting or entering from Papin- the driveway is steep and my car often scrapes out when I am going too fast. If you plan on exiting at Papin onto Vandeventer, you will be unable to turn left onto Vandeventer when there is traffic (just impossible). Better to turn left onto Papin, left onto Sarah, left onto Manchester, and finally left onto Vandeventer using the light (make a big circle). This intersection is crazy since the QukTrip went in. read more

This branch is ridiculously slow time and time again. I would have never come back but this is the closest location to my home. After today, this branch has lost my business. For some unknown reason they removed the extra teller "machines" (which I already disliked, but that's besides the point) and replaced them with extra offices. My first thought was "Great! Now I can actually talk face to face with my banker!" But that was quite the deception, there were three people working on a FRIDAY afternoon. One was working as a receptionist directing traffic. The other two were understandably busy. Once I finally got my turn after a half an hour, the man was very short with me but got my new card but couldn't deposit my cash for some reason (though he's done it before for me). So I was directed to wait behind the people in line for the one and only teller "machine". I waited for 20 minutes to deposit my cash because the woman was not only helping the internal customers but the drive thru as well. This branch needs to get their business together before they are no longer. The fellow customers standing with me were equally annoyed. read more

Three stars because on the good side, the employees make up for the things that would normally earn it one star like only crediting the first $100 of a cash deposit through the ATM and making you wait an entire "business day" for the rest. For a cash deposit. Can't credit all your cash on a cash deposit if you do it through their ATM. Had a LOT of miscommunication on their policy regarding deposits (the hold periods were not discussed when opening the account) and so a simple check that should have taken one business day took almost two weeks to "clear" (and that's because the manager got involved and released the funds, otherwise it would have been longer). As a matter of fact, the day the check actually cleared the originating bank is the day they sent out a letter saying they were holding the funds because it's a new account. So money is gone from the originating bank, it's in Commerce but they're "holding" it... for what reason? Basically they could use a lot more training to provide upfront information when opening an account and a good revamp to their ATM technology and outdated policies regarding availability of cash deposits. read more

This one lousy star is specifically for one personal banker at this location. Should have went to the automated teller because this is the first time I can really say talking to a person face to face yielded worse results than dealing with technology. I drew the lucky straw today and got to sit down with a personal banker. Never in my life have I experienced going to the bank to deposit a check and not being asked by the teller which account I wanted to deposit it in. I found out after I received my receipt that she had deposited my entire check into my mother's account (we have accounts linked for easy transferring when necessary.) I stopped and told her it was the wrong account. When she sat down to look at the accounts again she told me it's a joint account so there wasn't a way for her to know. She knew she messed up, and I knew she messed up with this sad excuse because, hey, when you don't know something, YOU ASK! Especially when you're dealing with people's money. I don't possess a crystal ball or Professor X telepathy so I literally have no way to know what you can and can't see on your end as a teller. Every teller I've ever been to at Commerce bank, regardless of location, asked me what account we were working with. EVERY one. Except this one. When she finished pontificating about joint accounts as if I didn't know, and as if I haven't been a customer with this bank since I was 16 (something I KNOW they can see), she asked what I wanted to do. I told her that I needed it in my actual checking account. After a few moments of tapping away on the laptop she says, "If I do this, it will take up to seven days to appear in your account." ((cue Titus Burgess double-take react here)) Isn't this yet ANOTHER thing you would disclose to your customer BEFORE beginning the process??? There are two scenarios here: A) she honestly didn't know it would take that long or B) she didn't feel like filling out another slip and doing whatever extra work it would take to fix HER mistake so she bluffed. She could see by this point I was becoming frustrated with the situation as her demeanor changed from "I know I screwed up but I'm going to play it off by giving you a TED talk on shared accounts" to "Now *I'm* mad because *you're* mad!" She began to sigh and look impatient. I told her then that it was best to just leave it in my mom's account and I would have her transfer it to me asap. She then said she would now reverse the transfer back to her account. A few more moments of tapping went by, she stepped out, grabbed my receipt, and gave it to me. I barely uttered a thank you this time as I got out of there. Poor customer service. Just the worse. She never apologized or anything for either of her mistakes today (failure to ask a customer about which account they wanted to deposit their money in, and failure to inform a customer before starting a transaction what the consequences of said transaction might be.) I don't usually believe in reporting employees because I generally don't feel it's cool but THIS lady may warrant a phone call to the manager. Don't play with people's money, as you don't know their situation. Fortunately me and Mom are Gucci and she can be trusted...but ASK when you're dealing with multiple accounts. That's like Customer Service 101! Oy. I can't wait for my direct deposit to finally go through.... read more

Wonderful bldg...new technology in banking but horrible customer service. Rude and unprofessional I will be closing my account

Commerce Bank will take from their customers and allow things to happen to your account, so they could get your $36 fees. I have been a long standing customer and talked with two employees about a problem, they refused to listen to my concerns and I find it impossible to continue to do busy with bank that ripped the customers off. Be aware of their fees and they will try to get you to get different services which does not measure up to the customer's need. I was warned by this Bank by many of people as well, they have gain money for fees by the customers. read more
