Wow what a Rip Off ! I paid over 200.00 for a sub standard room. I was o first floor near the LOUD music until midnight, hallways were busy until 2 am with loud drunks. walls are super thin. Room shades are not darkening which was a pain. Bathroom towels super thin and bath towels are kid size. ironing board had no cover Wall heat/cool unit had broken pieces. My door key would not work 8 times and kept having to get new keys. Bathroom sink plunger was missing so had to constantly run water to shave. shower head was like tiny and something from the 50's if looking for a decent place to stay in Pirt Clinton Avoud staying here. read more

Stayed here with a couple of friends so we could take the Jet Express across to Put-in-bay. Start with the room(s): We got the "suite" which was basically two rooms with the middle door opened. The one side had no water (the sink was there but the water spigot didn't work). Also no middle table between the 2 queen beds. Bedspread on one bed had a large stain (unknown origin, don't want to know!). Also no toilet and no shower on the one side. So the suite is like a military dorm room for low ranking military "boots" like I was back in the day. I've actually stayed in better squad bays on several military bases that were better equipped with this no-frills suite that we paid $260 for. Never again, we'll go across to Put-in-bay and pay less and already be on the island. Drinks and food: The bar downstairs after 8pm turns into Dante's 3rd level of Hell and the food is probably microwaved.... from the outside bar (which has limited shade so if it's hot bring your own beach umbrella) we ordered the grilled boneless chicken wings; tasted like someone diced up some frozen chicken breasts and tossed them into the microwave, then threw some watery and feeble attempt at buffalo sauce into an aluminum foil plate. On the good side of the wings, they ARE real chicken, and the "buffalo" sauce did not taste bad, it was just watery and lacking any kick. They should change the name to watery semi-buffalo flavored chicken chunks. The price wasn't bad either, about a pound of chicken chunks for $11, which is reasonable for a beach bar. The pina-coladas were great and perfect on a hot day. Pool area: Pool was small but seemed clean. Couldn't use it because it was full of heavily intoxicated folks almost completely surrounding the pool sides so we couldn't even get in without having a sexual harassment complaint lodged against us for accidental groping. Hired a charter for some fishing probably a bit early but with time constraints what are you going to do . The hotel was recommended by the boat charter (you get a discount) The room was dated but clean only stayed over night but close to the dock so well worth the money for the convince. read more

If I can give it zero Stars I would bait and switch husband reserved a queen size bed when we got there number one the outside did not look like anything in there online post photos when you walked in the lobby it was dirty dingy did not look well at all and then when we got upstairs into the room they only had two full size bed with my husband reserved the queen size the bed was hard it was no Comfort to it they didn't have no toilet paper did not have any soap now come on no soap!!! the toilet was not clean I would not want to use that bathroom and when we went downstairs to complain that act like it was really no big deal to me this place was a dump they had a paper shades up that was stingy when you lifted it up we saw up outside exterior wall nothing Pleasant nothing pleasing nothing but a bunch of stinky fish smelling from the on Lake like I said more likely a zero instead of one bait and switch beware of bait and switch because my husband was quoted a lower price and when we left the same day we didn't even stay the night because of the condition the floor was dirty the bathroom was not clean there was no shower Curtains and there was no shower mat what kind of hotel in or motel that got running they don't care they had the audacity to overcharge my husband we did not even stay overnight we left immediately after we took our trip over to put in Bay we were not going to sleep in a filthy disgusting room they ought to be ashamed of them self and that basically ripped us off I wouldn't recommend this to my my worst enemy. Well let's see it's 1am and I am lying awake here with my two sons (also awake) trying to sleep because we are supposed to get up at 6am to go fishing on a charter boat in the morning. Problem is we are in a room at the far end above the bar. We might as well be in the bar. The DJ music is as you might expect - loud and rowdy. And there are fewer than 20 people at the bar. No idea what they are doing in the morning but they aren't fishing with us. Signs say bar closes between 11 and 1 and there is no one at the front desk to inquire about. Tempted to pull the fire alarm but not worth the trouble it could cause so have to wait it out. Oh and did I mention there is no running water in our room? May ask for a refund but regardless I won't be staying here again and don't recommend it for anyone else either. read more

I really hope someone is checking yelp to make a decision on where to stay, and this review helps them. The hotel is a complete dump. The lobby is nice, but the rooms are repulsive. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy to stay there. There was a massive blood stain on my mattress. When I spoke to the front desk about it, they brought up new sheets for us to put on ourselves. They didn't even offer to change them for us. The carpet is a bunch of individual carpet tiles put together, and they shift around and move to reveal the concrete floor covered in dust underneath. The shower is a trickle. Felt like a few fingers tapping my head. And sleeping on a dirty brick would have been more comfortable than the bed. We stayed here because we were part of a wedding group that had a discount rate here but I do not recommend at all. 179 a night is beyond absurd. We looked for other options nearby but they were sold out, as it was last minute. Don't waste your money and stay here! read more

Decided before we went to upgrade to a whirlpool room. Checked in around 6p. Room was really outdated but clean. Went down to the restaurant and they were short staffed but waitress was very apologetic. Got own drinks from bar, food came out cold...not complainers and they were slammed so sucked it up and went back to room. Whirlpool was very small. Worked ok. Bed was very uncomfortable. Was ready to just chill and TV wouldn't turn onto any channel. No answer at front desk. No one there. Irritated and done at this point. Packed up at 10p and drove the 2 hours home. I travel quite a bit and was not very happy with this hotel. First, this place is SUPER expensive with very few amenities. I only stayed here because it was part of a wedding event deal (deal?!) Second, parking lot is super small and the guests can't find parking on the weekends because of the attached bar/restaurant and their live music on the weekends. When I checked in, the person who greeted sounded like she had no clue what she was doing. She couldn't find my name (was misspelled), she sent me the wrong way to my hotel room, she was a mess). I was told I was paying extra for a room with a view of the lake, yeah right, Lake was barely visible from my window. Got a great view of the parking lot! Is there not an option for Zero stars?! I stayed here bc of a wedding, it is super expensive for the lack of hotel it is. To sum it up it feels dirty and smells like cigarettes. The staff here is nice but clueless and unprofessional. In the lobby there is a vending machine and a tv in the corner playing Judge Judy, ummm is this what $180 gets you nowadays in Ohio? Also it doesn't feel safe here at all bc of the sleezy bar attached to it. I had to get something out of my car at midnight and I was approached by an old drunk man as well the cars next to mine had people sitting in it, looking like they were planning a 1.robbery 2. Kidnap 3. Drugs. Also the one amentity I waned to use was the gym, but alas that failed too. They have one key for the gym that they give out to their guests and can not make duplicates. Ok that makes Zero sense. So I couldn't use the gym bc a guest has not returned the designated key to the front desk. Port Clinton's party hotel on weekends. The attached bar and restaurant delivered loud, marauding drunks in the parking lot and through the hotel Friday and Saturday nights. The management wasn't responsive to my complaints. Sunday through Thursday nights the place was, well, OK, fine enough. But if you like sleep with your hotels, stay away on Friday and Saturday nights. read more

Normally I only review the restaurants I visit but I feel like the Commodore Perry has been cheated. Yes, it is on the expensive side... Yes, It is loud... Yes, you chose to stay in a party motivated town. And YES, you have found the best party around! Each year we visit in August and after a year of trying to enjoy the local bands I am in AWE of the quality of the bands that Mr. Ed's which is in the Commodore Perry provides each and every weekend. Not only that but you are in walking distance to the Jet Express which is the fastest way from Port Clinton to Put-in Bay island. If you are visiting Put-in-Bay for any amount of time and are looking to have a good time the Commodore Perry is a no brainer in my book. read more

I thought since this hotel was a bit on the expensive side I would be getting a nice place to stay. Nope! The room was filthy and it reeked! There was a blood stain on the carpet and looked as if it wasn't vacuumed from the pervious guest as there was a hair tie left on the floor and my white socks were filthy from walking on it. I got a nonsmoking room and it reeked of smoke. They advertise free car parking, which it is, however there wasn't any parking. The lot was full because of the night club. And so so noisy! 1 star is too many for this hotel. It deserves 0! We have been coming to Port Clinton for almost 30 years and have stayed in various hotels there and we boat on lake Erie in the summer. We have never had a problem any place that we have stayed in Port Clinton except now. This hotel is awful, very run down, very dirty and outdated. There is an "old" odor in the room. We were in one of the suites, which was $150 a night. I didn't expect it to be top-of-the-line, but I at least expected it to be clean and updated. The bedspread looked like it was from the 70s, the dark green carpet was ripped in two places and tripped in one area because of the tear. The carpet had not been vacuumed in a very long time, it was very dirty, Dusty, stained etc. The vanity had hair and dust on it, the bathroom floor had dirt in numerous places and mold. The table and dresser was full of dust. The mini fridge was completely iced over in the freezer, consequently the refrigerator was a tiny bit cold but not enough to put the items in that we had brought from home. I defrosted the refrigerator in order to use it. There was a couch in the suite that was so dirty and worn we would not even sit on it or put anything on! The armrest was torn also. The bedding was ridiculous! I am so glad that I brought a blanket and pillow from home with me! The bedspread and blanket were so thin and old I didn't want to touch them. And I'm not joking, the sheets were so thin you could actually see through them! The mattress also needs replaced. For the amount of business that they have and the amount of money that they take in especially in the summertime, I would think they could update the rooms in this hotel. Beds are HORRIBLY uncomfortable. The attached bar and grill was obnoxiously loud and doesn't shut down until 0200. When I checked out, I accidentally left a blouse hanging. I realized this mistake about 10 hours later (my fault, I should have remembered to grab it). Called the hotel immediately and of COURSE it hadn't been turned in. The logical conclusion? It was taken by their house keeping staff. Beware...don't leave anything laying around as it will probably not be there when you return. read more

This is the worst place to stay!!! They have horrible Customer service. I have been in Customer service my whole life and this is the worst place I have ever encountered. We had asked them to take a room away that we didn't need it. We had resevered 3 rooms. We wanted to cancel one room. They claimed that we didn't give them a 72 hour advanced which we did but they were rude to us in that time period. So we told them to take the room and try to rent it out. Witch was the option they gave us. So when we were in one of the rooms the tub wouldn't drain water. The sink wouldn't drain water. And the tv didn't work. So the manager on duty gave us back the one room and said he would refund us the other room that we didn't want in the first place. In the process the day manager on duty was very rude and didn't even want to help. So after all that we decided to stay. Well after a certain amount of days they refused the refund. Which I'm pretty sure is against the law. They told us that "we caused a problem and weren't going to refund us." So no one should ever stay at this horrible hotel. The breakfast is gross. So is the hotel. We couldn't even let our kids sleep on the couch bed. It was lop sided and disgusting. This place is a disgrace. Please don't ever give this owner your money. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I can't believe this place is still open. The owner and management is a disgrace of business. read more

I only stayed at this hotel because of the location. However, after my stay I would do anything to avoid this hotel, it is just not worth it. The price is a little high, but I expected that due to the location being so close to the jet express. But what I've had to deal with regarding the management after my stay has been ridiculous. I was charged a smoking fee even though no one in my party was smoking. They even lied and said they found a water bottle/cup full of cigarette butts in our room. I am a non smoker and everyone in my party are non-smokers. There was no possible way that we would leave behind a water bottle full of cigarette butts! The fact that they are lying about this is ridiculous. Even more frustrating is the management is impossible to get ahold of to discuss this accusation/charge that was put on my credit card. I should mention that my room was one of 2 non smoking rooms surrounded by smoking rooms. So our room reeked of smoke from the moment we entered it. Only to be charged a smoking fee later, when no one in our party smokes. I've never dealt with any institution that was so unprofessional. Now to talk about the hotel itself. If you want piece and quiet this is not the place to go as there is a bar attached to it and is pretty loud on the weekends. The rooms are below average and the beds are in very poor condition and I even found bugs in my bed in the morning. Gross.
