I have been a customer here for a couple of months and most of the time the service and employees are great. Today was not one of those days. I don't know if it's the manager or owner but she did not look pleased when I walked in this morning. I couldn't decide on what to get~ my usual (dirty chai with oat milk) or their Sugar & Spice latte. At first, I chose my usual but apparently she had ignored my request when she asked me if I wanted a dirty or filthy chai. So I went with the latter. Then when it was time to pay I had asked if the Square machine was not working and she had commented, "good job." She was talking down to me as if I was her child. I did not appreciate her comment and unprofessionalism! I can't recommend this place to people that I know and I honestly think she doesn't appreciate me as a customer due to my physical appearance and color of my skin. If in the future I return as a customer, she is definitely not touching nor making my drink. All I can say is choose wisely. read more

Lovely local coffee shop adjacent to the nutty sister bakery. From the coffee shop I enjoyed the strawberry banana smoothie and an iced vanilla latte while I also smacked on the most delicious pecan cheese squares - I know, what a combination of flavors! Good amount of items; not so much that you're standing there for ten minutes trying to select your desired treat (I always have problems making decisions), and not so few that it's hard to find something you'd enjoy. There are more drink options than there are food, but the Christmas specials looked appetizing and original. I got a hot chocolate and a Mango Tango smoothie. The hot cocoa was arguably one of the best I've ever had, with its excessive chocolate-y taste and a total absence of bitterness. Perfectly warm and delightful. The mango smoothie lived up to expectations, with a steady and delicious flavor. Worker was pleasant and the artwork on the walls was very visually pleasing. Their orange muffins are absolutely amazing, compliments to the baker. Stumbled here during my visit in this great little town. The matcha is probably the best ive ever had. This is a great small town coffee shop with the taste of the big city. It's a little hard to find, I actually drove past it the first time. You have to walk down the alley. As soon a I walked in the door I was greeted and felt welcomed. They offer a wide variety of coffee styles and flavors so there's plenty of options for everyone. Searched Yelp last night for a coffee shop to stop at on our way back home and found Common Ground. The coffee was great and the muffins were delicious . Wished we had found this place yesterday afternoon when we arrived to try the ice cream. It looked delicious . Definitely will stop in again if ever back this way. Just wanted to note after reading other reviews this shop has moved and is very easy to find. First time visiting Hartwell so not familiar with the other location but this location had outdoor seating and has indoor seating. Because of Covid19 the indoor is not being used so it appeared. This is a great addition to downtown. Lots of parking nearby. They have a large patio area. The inside is really clean and the people working the counter are friendly and efficient. We had their cold brew; me with just milk and my wife with the sweet cream and hazelnunt. Both exceeded expectations (and both the lid and the cup were recyclable). Yes, Starbucks is here in Hartwell, but this place has them beat with their location, atmosphere, and local vibe. Between this place and the new Dunkin in Lavonia, our coffee needs are met! read more
