Recently, my mother was hospitalized and needed time to recover in a skilled nursing facility. She boarded her dog, Niko, at a place in Troy close to her home. Niko has a history of seizures, and he had a small episode while he was there. The facility called to say they were not comfortable keeping him and that she needed to find alternate arrangements. My mother was already overwhelmed with her own health issues, and the added stress of finding a safe place for Niko was heartbreaking. I immediately called PSR, and they were just as incredible as I remembered. I spoke with Lace--who also worked at the Inkster location and even remembered my long‑lost baby Bella. She went out of her way to pick up Niko herself and made sure he had a safe, secure, loving place to stay. My gratitude for PSR runs deeper than words. They have always been the place I call "home" for my babies, and they proved once again why. "Thank you" will never feel like enough.

We have taken both of our dogs here for nearly 10 years and without incident! Our dogs, we love them so extremely dearly, but they were not well-behaved or well-trained for most of their kennel stays. Yet the folks at Howl-a-Day have never, ever complained. One of our good boys has made it into his senior years and one, unfortunately, has not. Our senior boy is well cared for and always showered with affection by the employees of this kennel. Our dearly departed good boy was well cared for even when we had to kennel him while sick and on a laundry list of medication. I really do trust my precious pups with this company. We can travel with absolute peace of mind given our positive experiences with Howl-a-Day. I can't thank them enough for caring the way that they do. I call this place Summer Camp for the dogs! They come home happy and absolutely exhausted.

The staff has been communicative and taken good care of Lulu and their pricing is affordable - especially compared to what I've seen in Arizona for my two (bigger) dogs. On a recent unexpected trip, Lulu was able to stay at 4 Paws longer than initially planned and we so appreciated knowing that she was in good hands for this extended stay. I watched him occasionally through the webcam and it was so fun to watch him play. He loved the girls and he followed them around. I really liked the schedule and the amount of play time and walks that the dogs receive. Some boarding places may be cheaper, but this place is definitely worth the price and I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. It was so cute to see my dog sitting on one of the girls lap during play time. He's very spoiled and it was so sweet that she let him sit there. He gets very anxious around new people and I was glad that he felt comfortable. I decided to place him in the boutique, which is meant for small dogs, but in the future I will probably put him in the Hills suite. There are always dogs in that suite and I don't want him to feel lonely at night. One night he was all alone in the boutique suite so I felt bad ): When we went to check him out they gave us a picture and a report card. This was so adorable!! I loved the picture so much. I also like that they are given 3 hours of playtime each day. Shortly after we dropped off Juneau we noticed someone had put her toy and slow feed bowl in her kennel. Then the next day we noticed there was no toy, bowl or cot. I had watched over a 24 hour period and nothing changed. I emailed and asked why this happened and I never received a response. She was being fed in a regular bowl, which she will eat too fast and choke. I also noticed a pee spot on the floor and was not sure if it was due to this or not. However, Juneau is just a puppy (fully potty trained) and used to going outside every couple hours, so I don't know if that was the issue or not. I never found out what happened.

Please do not let past reviews speak…read morefor today's staff- as everyone currently at Jagersbo was not at the business when the old reviews were posted. I began in November 2024, and I can say things must be different now than they used to be. For one, the groomer/manager (Missy C) is no longer with the business. I dont have any insight as to why, but I do know that based in reviews I've read here, there mustve been good reason. We do still offer baths, nail trims, and light grooming (removing mats, trimming paws/face, etc) but it is done by the kennel staff. Which brings me to my next point. The staff we currently have- are new to Jagersbo. We have staff with years of experience, who love these pups as much as our own. We love doing play times with them, and even do our best to get them outside with us even if they've already had their official play time. Or, if they're not much of an outside pup- we try to sit in their kennels with them for a moment, bring them in the office to hang out if we can, and give extra treats just for being good boys & girls. We also no longer do large group play. Unfortunately, large groups can overwhelm dogs easier, and we want everyone to be safe & have fun. We have a handful of regulars who have established friends. When introducing dogs, they are always attended, we take introductions slow, and start only introducing 2 dogs to each other. We prioritize their safety and so if we ever feel uncertain, we will just give them 1x1 play time with the staff. We absolutely do not push for group plays, as that's not our focus. Taking care of these babies and making sure they have some fun & feel loved while they're away from home is our #1 concern. If you do choose us, your first day of daycare (a "trial run") is free. Daycare is just for one day, no overnight stay, but 2 playtimes included. If you'd like to talk to a staff member and try us out, please give us a call! That's me, and my big anxious lug'of'a'dog. They were so gracious. So professional. So down-to-earth and most of all, they cared for my dog like he was one of their own. I'm not sure which one of us was more nervous, but they calmed the both of us by answering any and all questions I had (and there were many!) He ventured in with his own blanket and toy to keep him company and was given playtime and lots of love. The moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and we felt at ease. The day we dropped him off Inknew he was going to be well cared for and my mind was at ease while we were away with family for the holiday.
