It really is the little things that make me feel like my dog is getting quality care while she's being boarded. The boarding area is always seemingly clean and the dogs never seem stressed out / barking constantly when I come inside for pick up/drop off - something that's a huge difference from other places. I have asked for nail trimmings, but they can be short staffed & honestly, it takes 2 to hold my dog down. (anxiety, am I right!). Instead of telling me they couldn't do it, they had be come back to calm her down. SUPER appreciated that. Overall nothing but great experiences here.

Oliver is socialized and very well behaved. We picked him up from the office and nothing out of the ordinary was said to us. When we got home we noticed blood on our carpet & our furniture. We looked around trying to figure out what the heck it was and then realized it was Oliver that was bleeding! We noticed a hearty chunk of his ear missing! It was bleeding quite a bit. We were able to stop the bleeding after some time, but it was pretty dramatic. We immediately called the office and it was already closed. We called Saturday morning and was told a manager would call us back when she got in at 4pm that afternoon. She didn't call me back so I called at 5pm. They took another message & said the manager would call me. No one called me again. I called back Sunday morning and left a voicemail. No call back. I called again Monday and was told the owner Mike would get back to me. It is now Thursday & still no call back!! We are not panicky people. We love our dog. The fact that this business is not acting with urgency is so disappointing, and unacceptable. We know stuff happens at doggy day care, but honestly we don't understand how our dog can be missing a chunk of his ear, assumably , without anyone knowing ? Nobody caring? Even IF they didn't see it happen, (although we are sure he screamed).... They should be calling us back. It's Bad Business. There are plenty of other places to go, and we urge you to do the same if you care about your dog!!!

Five stars all the way!…read more We were babysitting our daughter's rescue dog, Ellie, while daughter and s-i-l went on vacation. They had recently moved to the Chicago area. We wanted Ellie to become comfortable at Bark University so the kids would have a safe, reliable place to leave her occasionally with their busy schedules. This place is filled with people who genuinely care about dogs--from Candy, the owner, to Dahlia and the rest of the wonderful team. Ellie was understandably scared at first. She had been a street dog and had difficult experiences in her past. The staff took their time introducing her to different dogs, carefully figuring out which personalities she was most comfortable with. I was so impressed by the amount of love, patience, care, and attention they gave her. Ellie did incredibly well. What surprised us even more was the difference we began noticing outside of daycare. Even though she was only going once a week for a few hours, she became noticeably calmer when seeing other dogs on our walks. Normally, she would bark at them, but she has been doing so much better. The prices are also extremely reasonable--$30 for a half day and $40 for a full day. I especially love that on longer days they feed the dogs and have the dogs take a one-hour nap/rest break from 12-1. Bark University is truly a gem of a place.

Second, Benji loved having a huge yard to run and play in. I got a picture the first day (attached) and a video the next of him playing! It really put my nerves at ease. Usually I train the puppies before I bring them out to her. This time I didn't. I wanted her to have him asap to help w the grief. My grandpa also had a dog, that never left his side and was with him the night he passed. After his passing we brought her to the funeral so she understood he wasn't coming home. After several tries of nudging him in the casket, kissing him and booping her nose to his nose to try to wake him up she realized he wasn't this time. After the funeral her behavior changed and she started marking everywhere in the house. Not knowing she was marking and bringing a puppy into the mix, made the situation alot more chaotic. My grandmas also in a wheelchair and depends on others for help. Which made things harder for her to train her puppy. After numerous phone calls, either being told it was nearly impossible to do what I needed help with or it's was gonna cost as much as giving them my first born, I nearly gave up. UNTIL.... Richard came to my rescue! When I talk to Richard for the first time, I got a sense of peace and a chance for hope. Instead of him telling me that this situation was an obstacle beyond imagination, or not possible, he took the challenge. He warned me it might take time, given the circumstances that I was pretty much putting him in and limiting what he could and couldn't do. But, he was willing to try and not charge me my first born. After the first session, we saw results that didn't seem reachable in the beginning. We've been able to break my grandpas dog from marking all over the house and the puppy's on his way to being pee pad trained. We still have more work to do but the progress so far gives the positive reassurance to keep going and not quitting. I highly recommend Richard to anyone and everyone! He's truly one of a kind

I boarded my dog here for a long weekend, and unfortunately, he contracted a terrible case of kennel cough. The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there.
