I have a very special little dog who needs a lot of training and attention to help overcome her behavioral challenges and they not only understood what to do immediately, we've been making steady progress since we first met everyone. The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? Sabrielle is delightful, funny, and SOOOO experienced and skilled. Our Doc, a cavalier King Charles, is....a little bit spoiled. We thought he was a hopeless discipline case, but Sabrielle had him following commands as soon as she got to the house! She came over, immediately started teaching both the people and the dog before she was inside the front door. She and Doc met for the first time as part of a lesson on calming introductions and she gave Doc a brand new toy! While Doc played with his toy, she talked over her teaching plan with the whole family. The philosophy was positive reinforcement with intentional verbal and gestural commands. She arrived with fancy freeze-dried beef lungs, though our Doc preferred dehydrated chicken cubes. If your dog is picky, I suggest having their favorite tiny treats on hand just in case. Sabrielle walked us through a number of exercises, including recall, leashing, heeling, standing back from doors, and ignoring open doors. We were amazed at how well Doc listened and obeyed. A lot of the training is not about training the dog, but the people! Sabrielle was funny and supportive about adjusting our behaviors, catching our mistakes by helpfully suggesting alternatives. We were a little afraid of being shamed or lectured, but the experience was so positive and rewarding. She would demonstrate a command, walk the dog through it, then have each of us people take turns. It was amazing seeing the immediate change in our dog's behavior. Sabrielle's explicit goal is to only need one meeting, and she was successful! We all feel better prepared to handle the doggy. The meeting was 90 minutes, and as a family, we decided to schedule a second training so that us people (not the dog) have reinforcement for our newly learned techniques. Second trainings are 75 minutes long. We're looking forward to it! Also, a surprise to me was that Sabrielle also trains cats! My cat kept trying to butt in to the training, and Sabrielle shared tips for the kitty cat too! We live in Tennessee and wanted to find a boarding facility in the Chicagoland area for our precious 2 yr old Labrador as we had several trips planned in the local area for upcoming weddings. We've been so overwhelmed by our two labs and not known what to do about a few issues such as barking at strangers, bolting out the door, destruction during thunderstorms, etc. We really didn't know what to do and it was making our household so chaotic! Sabrielle has been training our wirefox terrier puppy since she was 3 months old. We have been able to attend group training classes, individual sessions, and board and train with her. She is exactly what you want in a trainer. Someone who will love your pup as much as you do and care for them just the same. One thing we really liked about Sabrielle was her use of only positive reinforcements. We never felt good about using ecollars or any other negative reinforcement methods and Sabrielle's views aligned with us on that perfectly. Sabrielle is an expert in dog language and is a fountain of pup knowledge. Willow stayed with Sabs multiple times for boarding and board and train and there is no one we trusted to keep Willow safe more (Not even our own families). TLDR; we've been training with Sabrielle for almost 6 years, train with her! She will make your dog and you feel safe. She has experience in bait dog and fighting dog rehabilitation. She's a trainer for difficult dogs and dogs that need behavioral fine-tuning alike. Time with her is like doggie behavioral therapy! My partner and I have been training with Sabrielle since 2016. She connects so deeply with her clients (both human and furry) and ensures everyone is safe. We met Sabrielle when we brought Moose home from Martinez Animal Shelter. She had just finished her training sessions with some of the more behaviorally difficult dogs and approached us about Moose. She briefly educated us on his possible fear aggression and she gave us her card. She let us know that her expertise was in bait dog and fighting dog rehabilitation. We are so glad that we reached out to her for Moose's training. At first we didn't know about his fear aggression since he did so well with meeting Roxy at the shelter. They walked right next to one another and Moose was constantly trying to lick her. It wasn't until we took him for his first walk in which we encountered unknown dogs where we saw his baseline- intense fear aggression with barking and running away, sometimes lunging at dogs who were 30 feet away from him. She was right when she spotted his fear aggression and pointed out he may have been a bait dog based on his scars, and markings (see picture of Moose). We reached out to Sabrielle and worked with her tirelessly. We did the work, Moose and us. In the end, we were able to introduce him to my sister's dog and they even ate together without incident. Unfortunately, throughout this time, Moose was also in and out of the vet as we tried to figure out his sickness. He had Cushing's disease and it took too long to diagnose so we didn't have any treatment options. Until the end, Sabrielle was with us, consoling us and making sure our other dog, Roxy didn't fall into a depression. In 2019, Roxy started her service animal training to be my partner's service animal. We had to take a break due to COVID until Sabrielle started her virtual sessions which are just as helpful and sometimes more convenient on days where our schedule doesn't allow for travel time. We continue to work with Sabrielle and you should too! She is sweet, thoughtful and loves everyone one of her furry clients (not just dogs- cats too!) Sabrielle is a very knowledgeable, kind, and sweet trainer. We were skeptical of hiring a trainer because our dog is 8 years old and not "that bad", but she was so worth the money, and more. One intro session with her and now we have plenty of tools to keep us busy for a longgg time. We've had our pup for 6 years - he's scared-y and growly, but manageable. We thought with him being an adult and very clever that typical dog training wouldn't work, so we kept saying training wasn't necessary. But finally we decided to do it. We adopted our Formosan Mountain Dog, Simon, from Taiwan at 8 months old in August 2020. He was afraid of so many things - people, new dogs, noises, balloons, cardboard boxes, and so many others. We were first time dog owners, and had absolutely no clue how to deal with any of these. To add onto the stress of it all, Simon displays barky lungy behaviours whenever he's unsure, leading to weeks of headache, even at home. Living in an apartment building, even if someone passed by the front door or if the upstairs neighbour made the quietest of footsteps, he would erupt in barking. He also tended to bark at strangers or other dogs that were unfamiliar... super tough for us when we're in a dog-friendly apartment. Sabrielle was our lifesaver. Not only does she really know her stuff on animal behaviour and psychology, she is also so kind and compassionate; without her encouragement, I think we would have given up long time ago. We have done a package of behaviour modification sessions with her, as well as attend her weekly Reactive Rover group classes. We are also so grateful to Sab for her day training and daycare services. Simon seems to really like her, and this is so difficult given that our pup's anxiety makes him wary of most strangers. It's almost like Sab speaks dog. In the ~5 months we've been working with Sab, Simon has shown so much improvement, we almost can't even believe it. Our pup has gone from barking and lunging to our visitors to being able to relax in bed while our guests were chatting and laughing. He has been able to walk past most strangers and dogs on the sidewalk, and even people in the narrow apartment hallways. When he does have a reaction, he recovers way quicker than before. Simon rarely barks at noises in the apartment anymore, including doorbell and knocking sounds! Such a huge difference from us being kept awake all night because any noise he heard would send him into a barking frenzy. Now, he mostly remains quiet and calm throughout the day and night, save for some barking when he gets excited and wants to play. We have also overcome some mild separation anxiety, giving us the freedom to leave Simon at home when we need a break! We have even been able to go to the pet store with Simon, without him barking at anyone or anything, which truly amazes me. This was all thanks to Sab's help in teaching coping methods for Simon's fear and anxiety. Sab taught Simon (and us!) how to relax in stressful situations. We know that dog training is not an instant fix, but that with time, dedication, and effort, following Sabrielle's methods will lead to amazing results. Please take a moment to sit and really read this review. I found Sabrielle from Yelp but in all honesty, I passed on calling her first because she had such great reviews. I know... sounds stupid but it was like she is too good to be true. I had already spoken to anyone and everyone to find help for Buddy. Buddy is not my dog. Well... he wasn't mine. He belonged to my Mother and her daughter in law. They "shared" custody of him. My mom knew nothing about his breed and actually thought he would grow to be a lot smaller and much much much more tame but she was convinced he was the perfect animal for her. She's of age and only lives in Cali 4-6 months out of the year then returns home to the Philippines. The other owner lived closed but had little to no time for him so Buddy was just there. My parents tried to train him on their own by what they read on the internet and while he was a puppy, he was playful and definitely defiant. My parents disciplined him like any old school parent would discipline a child which worked as well as walking in a circle to get to the spot in front of you. Buddy soon learned every bad behavior a dog could learn. He basically owned my parents. We fought daily over him as I too owned a much smaller fluffier diva dog of my own and I was so worried Buddy would get a hold of her and kill her accidentally. The arguing forced my parents to find professional Trainers and guess what ? They too found Sabrielle but passed on her after a couple sessions to take him all the way (40 min drive) to some other Trainer. Why ? Because this guy promised fast results (Sabrielle didn't)and boy did they get that. He quickly learned not to be a dog and he was punished for even thinking about being what he was ! He was forced to wear a Shock Collar. I witnessed this dogs happiness fade away. Buddy did many sessions with the other trainer. Did he learn to sit and all that jazz ? Yes BUT only with a BUZZ to tell him what to do and if he didn't do it, another BUZzzz. He was "accidentally" super shocked (when it's turned up all the way) many times for just being silly. It wasn't until his neck was RAW that my parents began to question the Method being used. Fast forward a couple Months and it's time for my Parents to return home to the PI. Guess what? No one knew what to do with the dog. The other owner had told my mom she couldn't handle him and feared for her and her families safety. It wasn't until the day before my parents left that I offered to take him. This was after I was told he would have to be dropped off at a shelter. Hell no! He wasn't going anywhere. I know what happens to his breed. He didn't ask for all that was happening to him. So ... there I was. I work long days and my children have hectic schedules so my time for him was little to none. I began my search for dog boarding / training. Buddy had to have his collar on because i didn't know how to control him but I never needed to shock him because just the site of the remote would have him in a corner. After calling and emailing anyone here on yelp that said they "specialized" in behavior management and crying endlessly because I was failing at helping this animal, I emailed Sabrielle. That was maybe a little over a month ago. Buddy is almost done with a set of 6 sessions with Sabrielle. We got him out on a walk today ! 1/9/19. Did he act out? Sure did ! But she knew just what to do and we made it home safe and sound. She never lost her cool or patience. She's just there for him and ME ! Lord knows I'm more work than him! I have had Sabrielle help with solving several issues with my rescued Australian Cattle Dog. The first problem was Roxie attacking my chain saw while I was using it. We were so excited when we met our pup Guava at the shelter. He was 10 months old and seemed playful, affectionate, and the shelter left us under the impression he was sociable, with some occasional play nipping. When we brought him home, it was a very different story. While still playful and wanting our attention, he could become overstimulated very easily, and often begin biting us instead of the toy; the shelter had told us to just "turn our back to him" for him to stop, but he continued to bite our legs leaving bruises and marks. While we enlisted a trainer who got us through the first few months, we still struggled with his play biting, and began seeing increased reactivity with other dogs and people, especially men. I would come from walks crying, anxious and paranoid after an afternoon of hiding behind trees and tugging Guava away from loud men on cell phones, or children on bikes. It was getting harder to take him to the dog park, and have him play nicely with other dogs. We worried about how he would be perceived as a pit bull mix. And then we met Sabrielle. From the moment I spoke with Sabrielle on the phone, I felt like someone finally understood what we were going through, what Guava was going through, and how to help. Even from the first 2 hour in home meeting, Sabrielle taught Guava (and us) some new commands and tools for walks and we saw an immediate difference that week. Moreover, my boyfriend and I felt like we finally understood why Guava was acting the way he was, and how we could support him and begin to reshape the behavior. Over the past 5 months or so working with Sabrielle, we've finally reached a place where we can go on a walk with 0 incidents - in fact, Guava now actively ignores or looks at us when many of his old triggers pass us by. Sabrielle has also been such a wealth of knowledge for me and my boyfriend, and has always been available for phone calls to discuss issues we are working on and give us scenarios and commands to go through. She walks you through why your dog is reacting the way they are and why the corresponding training will help. She helped us form a training routine for Guava we use almost every day, and impressed upon us how important our consistent efforts are to seeing improvement. While we still have a ways to go, we finally feel like we are on the right track. Especially in these times of quarantine, I feel so thankful for the progress Guava has made, and that I can finally enjoy going outside with him or cuddling with him on the couch, and not worry about him reacting or nipping me. Everyone with a dog needs Sabrielle in their life! When my dog moved in with me in September 2017, he was not very socialized- getting overly excited when he saw other dogs walking around our apartment complex and constantly pulling on leash. I had reached out to Sabrielle when my pup (ten months old at the time) was showing fear around strangers and new people in my home. She came to our home and worked with us and Penny for well over an hour and gave us tips on how we can make her more comfortable and how she can meet new people.
