Amazing place...clean and organized. Staff was pleasant and fast. I was in and out in 40 minutes with no apparent. Great job!

Great nurses, they get 5 stars! But it's run terrible. Shutting down departments 1 after the other. So sad. Was a good hospital at 1 time.

I was one of their victims, staff improperly trained, understaffed, dirty. They withheld information regarding my illness due to lack of a cardio thoracic surgeon which I needed and they did not have. On further questioning by myself and family I was told one would be coming in a few days. One very honest person who had obviously been there for years told my family if I was his mother or wife he would get me to Colorado Springs, where they have experienced cardio thoracic surgeons who have done these procedures many times. I felt like a guinea pig as unneccessary procedures were done as it is supposedly is a ?teaching hospital. I also developed C diff during my stay which I found out later is rampant there. I transferred that night to Penrose St. Francis, a superior hospital by far in Colorado Springs. I had surgery there and I felt like the doctor there saved my life. I was confident I would have died at Parkview. I gave it a one because of a few good doctors and nurses, otherwise I would have given it a zero! Do not go there if you can go somewhere else.

When I checked my pulse, I found my heartbeat to be wildly erratic--unlike anything I had ever experienced. I was dizzy, lightheaded, and felt a heavy, forceful pounding in my chest that made breathing painful and difficult. At the suggestion of my companion, we drove to the nearest emergency facility, Parkview West in Pueblo West, Colorado, where I was admitted at approximately 11:00 a.m. Following an initial evaluation that included a CT scan and chest X-ray, I was placed in an examination room. I was told this would be my temporary location until an ambulance could transport me to the main hospital, Parkview Medical Center, several miles away. I was informed that due to overcrowding at the main facility, the transfer would be delayed. The emergency department, I was told, was overwhelmed with flu patients whose needs were taking priority. Hours passed. After five hours lying in a cold examination room, my companion was forced to leave, as she is unable to drive safely after nightfall. She was deeply concerned--and frankly shocked--by the lack of attention I was receiving, especially as my chest pain continued to intensify. As evening approached, my calls to the nurses' station for assistance were met with increasing abruptness, at times bordering on rudeness. At first, I felt guilty for calling, assuming I might be distracting staff from more critical patients. However, when I repeatedly heard laughter and casual conversation coming from the nurses' station, it became difficult to believe that my requests were being ignored due to overwhelming demands. Late that evening, I was brought a meal of cold salmon and rice, still without any information about when an ambulance might arrive. Ultimately, after nearly twenty hours in significant pain and distress, an ambulance finally transported me to Parkview Medical Center. The contrast was immediate and striking. At the main medical center, I was treated with professionalism, compassion, and genuine concern--the standard of care any patient in distress should reasonably expect. The medical staff at Parkview Medical Center exemplified competence and empathy. In sharp contrast, the emergency room physicians and nurses I encountered at Parkview West in Pueblo West demonstrated what I can only describe as neglect and indifference. It is difficult to understand how UCHealth can maintain such a high standard of care at one facility while allowing such substandard treatment at another. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to avoid the Parkview Pueblo West Emergency Department whenever possible. Incidently, I was diagnosed with atrial fibrulation caused by two blocked coronary arteries. I hope the flu patients at Pueblo West Emergency received the utmost care on January 5th. I sure didn't get it.

They apparently used Narcan to arouse me but this was not a drug overdose.. I was treated like one the few times that I was aroused. They found no drugs in my test but the ones prescribed. I barely remember my time there which was 8 hrs later. They released me and told me they didn't find anything wrong. I sat in the waiting room and tried to figure out what was happening to me and I couldn't figure out how to go home. I did go home and came back to get my record . I was given the notes from my visit and an additional 90 pages of the same test or random event looped over and over. Why? No one will tell me and no one would help me. It's as if they are hiding something. Now you can't get all your records from hospital and doctors . They are altered when I was able to see a pattern. I don't know why this place has change tragically. Perhaps too many lawsuits. I never found out why. This hospital needs to be accountable for their failures! I don't care if they change their Name to UHhospital or Common Spirit! It's the same horrible place and I don't want one other person to ho there. !
