Upon being called to the stand he then asked the judge if we could be excused for a second so we could talk. He then told me the judge wasn't going to budge and we needed to plead guilty. I felt totally put on the spot having really never seen any lawyer do this. I paid this guy for representation and other than the account of the arrest by the police officer, no details of the case were brought up at all. I was told he was going to attack the probable cause of being pulled over in the first place, bring up the fact that the officer agreed I was cooperative, etc...........and nothing. Look, I'm not saying any of this would have worked anyway but I literally felt like a sacrificial lamb. I felt like all he really did was agree with the DA and never "defended" me whatsoever. $1600 to plead guilty to a .09 first offense. There were also 3 citations (improper lane change, no signal, no seat belt), I want to make sure I'm not trying to make myself look innocent or naive in this whole situation. I just was led to believe that the whole thing was going to go one way..........and 10 minutes later he's telling me to plead guilty. I truly wish I would have saved my money.
