As a towing company that tows vehicles that are improperly parked on a person's property, surely people won't like them if that happens. I would, however, like to speak on my positive experience. I was in a severe car wreck in 2016, and was required to be taken away by ambulance. All of my valuables were in the vehicle, and the wreck was caused by a police pursuit that I was an innocent victim of. I immediately called the first towing company in my phone, which was CommTow. As I was in a bit of a rage from the total destruction of my car and the adrenaline in my body, the dispatcher for CommTow assured me that everything would be okay. They let me know that my car would be stored securely and it was. The tow truck driver even took care when placing all the broken parts in the rear of my vehicle, and waited while my father arrived on scene and got what he could from my car. They did not put any kitty litter or dirt from fluid absorption in my car as other towing companies do. They did right by me, eased my mind when I was so concerned about valuables until I could retrieve them, and did not come after me when the insurance company failed to pick up the vehicle in a timely manner. I returned to CommTow after recovering to find that my valuables (expensive sunglasses, a phone, a tablet, and even my watch) had been untouched. The car was securely locked far behind a solid gate where nobody could see or access it. I have since recommended and used CommTow for family and friends, and have never been disappointed. They are reasonable in price, get to you in a reasonable time frame, and are very friendly so long as you are friendly with them. Moral of the story is not to trust these reviews. If you choose to park in a place you aren't supposed to, you get what comes next. The towing company is not there to let it by. I finally got all the paperwork to prove my tow was falsely done but management, Ryan, was very rude. Didn't acknowledge me and was being very unprofessional. I can't find the Tampa CommTow location (2805 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33602) on Yelp, so this one gets it. After being let in by a guest and using the gate code, we parked at the very top of the Slade at Channelside. We specifically parked in a spot that had the reservation numbers completely painted over in white (I have photos as proof). It didn't matter. CommTow still towed our vehicle, despite those spots not even having "No Parking" signs or warnings of any sort. Our vehicle was towed for "no pass" despite being in a spot that has absolutely nothing to suggest it's a reserved spot. In fact, we went out of our way to find a spot that wasn't reserved. There is no way to describe what CommTow and companies like them does, other than calling it theft. They steal vehicles from the working class they claim to be a part of, and extort them for money (in mine and my wife's case, $185). The Slade at Channelside and CommTow know exactly what they're doing. This is a sham. You probably tow more perfectly good cars, than you do ones that actually need it. I'll never understand the logic behind towing a vehicle unless it's parked in a handicap or emergency lane. Why not just issue a parking ticket? After coming back from deployment, I went to visit a friend at his downtown Tampa apartment and spent almost $200 at a local bar. And how does the city repay me? By towing my car at 2:00 a.m. This is exactly why I avoid going out and spending money downtown. Everything is so overpriced--bars are expensive, parking is expensive, and if you miss paying for parking, it's a $200 tow fee. I ended up having to walk 40 minutes in the middle of the night to get to Comm Tow (a fittingly terrible name). Not only did I have to "schedule an appointment" to pick up my own car, but the staff seemed lazy and had bad attitudes--probably high school dropouts. The irony was almost laughable: on one of their tow trucks, in big bold letters, it read, "Support Our Troops." I couldn't help but laugh. What could improve? This company could go up in flames, that would be a major improvement. This company is predatory, seeking every available avenue to keep your car from getting back to you. There should be laws against making it nearly impossible to retrieve your car. For starters, the ridiculous costs are criminal. It cannot possibly cost them over $500 to give me my car back. Then, if you're someone struggling financially, don't plan on asking your friends for help, they will not accept split payments, nor payment from anyone other than yourself. I think it's possible that all 5 star reviews are from employees of commtow because anyone that has had the misfortune to have dealt with this company would never thank them for taking good care of their car after it was towed. I have a scooter & a car here at the complex. For over a year I shared my scooter parking space with a boy who lived upstairs and his scooter. Because my scooter is so small I feel guilty about taking up an entire space. He has since moved out of the complex and now I have to park my scooter alone. Because it is so small and hard to see when parked, often, people swing in to park in what appears to be an empty space, nearly hitting my scooter. After a few very close calls, I started parking my car very close to my scooter for protection. Sunday night, yes I was over the white line, but I was close to my scooter in efforts to protect it. I have been parking this way for over 6 months and have had no problems or warnings that I was at all in any violation. My towing fee was $152 on top of the $20 uber ride down to go get my car. I was in complete shock of the whole situation and was crying through the whole process. The woman at the towing company was giving me an incredibly hard time and unjustly harassing me. She was hassling me over the fact that my signature on my credit card receipt didn't exactly match my signature on my license. I was distraught, leaning against a building to sign, and in a rush to get my car back, my signature wasn't well drawn out. She continued to draw out the process and make me wait extra unnecessary time before opening the gate and allowing me to get my car. I wish I could give it less than one star. I am absolutely horrified at how abominable the service was and how unwilling the woman was to be understanding. I asked for a break, but when she told me she couldn't I handed my card over to just get it over with so I could go home, and she was still unnecessarily brash with me. read more

Once I went to get in my car I did a walk around for any damages or scratch i noticed my bumper was hanging I informed there employee she told me "take pictures I'll give you an email to send it to" which I did. Once I got home a tried emailing "admin@commtowing.com" only to realize it was a fake email. finally monday afternoon a young man gave me the correct email "admin@commtow.com" I sent an email regarding the incident with pictures and videos on July 29 today is August 2 and I have not gotten a response so called an ask to speak with management an was told there is noway to reach manager other that the email I explain my situation with email that was never responded to an there wasn't a solution for that.
