People might be hesitant to venture into this area, but this library is very nice, well maintained, and I wouldn't hesitate coming back for a lecture or to grab a book. The KC public library system as a whole is a great library system. Branches are all over the area and they are also part of the metro network. The large network allows a larger selection of books and helps keep costs low due to being able to borrow from different locations instead of trying to stock a larger selection. They also have many partners for audio books that are free to members. I love seeing a location here. An area that might be overlooked, but needs services like this. Get on the mailing list! The various branches have a great speaking series with many events KC centered.

He enjoyed the kids library section. They have some neat in the wall seating for kids to read. They also have a large wooden ' café' for kids to play at. They had a good amount of books for children. The library was very busy on a Saturday later afternoon. I walked throughout the rest of the library to check it out and they have a good selection of books in the teens and adult areas. They also had a cooking room and also other meeting room rooms. It appeared to be a possible cooking lesson going on at the time we were there. They have a variety of comfortable and modern seating arrangements throughout the whole entire library. They also had a huge window area looking out on natural Prairie area that I believe might have hiking trails around it. We do not have library cards with this system so we didn't check anything out, but we did read books to our grandson while we were there. Everyone seemed to be getting good service from the librarians at the area as they were stationed. The library is a valuable resource for all the community members because of all the free resources that one can use. This library was new and modern. I do think the bathrooms could've been cleaned a little bit better or maybe more often.

This is such an easy library to be a fan of. The location is incredibly ideal, just off I-29 and…read moreright on the Platte City exit with lots of other shops and restaurants and banks. Inside, there's a decent quantity of books available, but what's nice is they always have the New York Times bestselling books present and on display. There's also a very large selection of dvds and CDs and other multimedia content. This library offers 6 public computers with full Internet access and a few others with library catalog capability. There are plenty of chairs, desks, and couches available for leisurely reading or quiet work which I highly recommend taking advantage of. Furthermore, there is a large room on the north end which is used for special activities, including children's readings and art projects! One more thing I really like here is that they are open till 9 pm on Monday and Thursday evenings... Very accommodating for later schedules. A downside is it's not open later more often... But what can you expect in a small-town library? The staff here are super, super friendly and a huge help with anything the customer needs. The facilities are new and nice. As soon as you step into the library, there is a cute little coffee shop called Post Coffee. It is modern, has lots of seating, and is playing soothing music in the background. The library is also super modern, with LOTS of seating options. There are so many different chairs and tables to pick from so each person can find their perfect fit. There are also charging outlets everywhere which is something I look for when i'm studying. There is a small "cubical" space where there are little dividers between each area so you can focus on your own work without getting distracted from the person next to you. There is also a computer area, study rooms, and an open area. Lastly, there is lots of parking so you don't have to park on street or far away!

The librarian was helpful and pleasant and of course I like their check out scanner that can take a stack of books and check them at one time. Some libraries do not have the newer scanner. They had a good selection of children's books, which is where I was at primarily. They have some activity tables for children as well. I also liked the family restroom for when a diaper needs to be changed. There is parking that is covered next to it.

The architectural design and all of the features included just makes the experience even better! The area for children has everything you could ever think of. From a large coloring table, to books for all ages & ethnicities. Regular tables and chairs to innovative reading nooks and huge lounging chairs. Whoever took on this project creating this library should be declared an artist if they aren't already. It is as if they are trying to prove a point that libraries don't have to be boring or just a place for books, but truly a spot to spend time with your family and everyone can find something to enjoy. However, I will not be returning because while I was there only one employee seemed remotely friendly. The ladies who in the very back in what I believe in the teen section were not friendly at all. The one in the very first office in the back gave me dirty looks when our eyes met. Plus one of the patrons were giving my children dirty looks when we first walked into the building. I always thought the library was a place where everyone should be welcomed and that was not the feeling that I had while I was there.

The Johnson County Library system is awesome; you can borrow books from all over, ebooks, and I saw something about downloading music, although I haven't investigated that yet. There always seems to be quite a few people here reading, studying, and whatnot, and I know that from time to time there are events for kids. The library is clean, modern, well organized (different sections of books are clearly marked), and the staff are friendly and helpful. There's plenty of comfortable seating, in case you'd like to curl up with a book, and a lot of the chairs have little attached side tables (similar to the arm rest tables on some airplanes), which would be good for a laptop or to stack up a pile of books while you read. I usually tend towards fiction or travel books, and the selection of those is more than ample. There's also a really good new book section. (A bonus of the new book section is that you can check out as many new books as you want, as I know a lot of libraries have a limit on how many of those you can check out each month.) Their website is really easy to understand, and it makes renewing books and placing holds on books quick and easy. They also email me when books are due, or when the book I've put on hold arrives at my branch of the library, which is awesome.
