When the School I work at immediately closed due to the Coronavirus Epidemic , The next day I felt the need to reach out to the families of our students .. I called the closest food bank and talked to manager , let her know what I wanted to do , and without hesitation she told me to come down and pick up Sandwiches that she had . I gave a verrrry reasonable $ donation . I picked up 3 boxes of a variety of sandwiches and the best salads ( see picture below) , I put on my gloves and drove around most of the day to students houses .. ( im school bus driver , yes I know their addresses lol) I made their whole day . The kids and parents were so excited and grateful , Thank you Community Distribution , God Bless you for what you do .

They say 50% -80% off all 7 days of the week

Prices are low just keep check for expired dates on frozen items. Plan to use within a week or 2 at the most!

They made it super easy to drop off a bunch of donations before I moved. I really like what they are doing for the community.

I used to buy food here all the time. But I recently went and most of the food was expired. Not sure if I'll go neck.

This is the best kept secret in Los Angeles for groceries. $34 gets you $500 of the same food you'd pay for at Ralph's.

It truly makes such a difference when we come together as a community to help those in need. They make everything so easy and everyone here is always so welcoming! Stephanie and Jason are the two that are usually in the front helping you check in, so I have been able to talk to them the most. They both have such kind hearts and always make sure your experience here is great. Everything works smoothly here and the staff explain what to do perfectly. You start by watching a video that talks more about what Second Harvest is and what to expect during your volunteer shift. My personal favorite is grocery rescue, which is where you go to the cooler in the back and sort the good and the bad items that they receive from grocery stores. There are plenty of other options, depending on the day, like order pulling, crate washing, processing, bag cutting, etc. These are just some of the opportunities that they offer at the distribution center. They also have their own farm where you can spend your time picking the produce straight from the ground! Overall, this is such a great place to volunteer at. In the warehouse, they also show where all their products get distributed to. Below is a list of all the food banks in the area, if you ever need it!

I definitely will be returning!…read more It is true that half of the food there is turning bad, but don't let that discourage you from going. I got a bunch of food that was useable and really good here! I'm so glad I came because they gave me and my boyfriend meat that we have never had before and it was so delicious when I cooked it! Not everything there is free. The front section is stuff that you pay for. The line isn't as long as social media was trying to make it seem. They also let you take food to share with family, neighbors, and friends. That's extremely kind of them. I don't regret coming here.

I am low income,…read moreand didnt quite have the mandatory $50 to spend but i wanted to pay at least half of that to get fewer items... Going through a rough time today, went by several pantries and food banks. Turns out that Thursday is a popular day to not distribute any food. I was advised to come by here and that the people here are nice and accommodating. I arrived and was immediately assisted by an older woman whom was very kind and sweet, she directed me to a desk area where an annoyed looking younger woman sat, whom looked and sound like she didn't want to be bothered and was trying to get people out of her hair. When it came time to ask i attempt to ask if I can pay "half for less" and she told me its only 50 they dont offer any other help it is what it is and she couldn't direct me anywhere else. She said she can charge per item but I would end up paying more. I was stunned at the lack of dignity I recieved here....from this worker in particular. She was rude up until I didn't want to even try anymore, at that point she told me byyeeeee have a blessed day! I had brought with me paperwork and everything to show I was disabled and in need just to get by for the remainder of the week but I felt super unwelcome.
