There was a male presenting employee who was so RUDE. I have a social media presence that I use to promote thrifting. I literally had to start talking to my daughter about how we should post a video before he would drop his nasty attitude. Then he nicely said filming wasn't allowed in the store which is a lie because I had been filming the whole time I was in there... I just wasn't filming during check out when the store employee was at his absolute worst. F this place. Prices are ok. Got a pair of weejuns, a pair of Paige Claudine jeans and a like new 100% cotton Ralph Lauren sweater for $32 which is high for used goods but in this market still fair. But seriously, F that employee who talked down to me and acted like he was better than every customer in the store. read more

**December 2025: Sunday Late Morning Visit** My friend and I finished our breakfast early and we still had time before our event so we decided to check out a thrift shop nearby. The Council Shop- Burbank was close by so we opted to make a detour. The shop is located right along the major street, but we lucked out with street parking right in front. The shop had a good variety of pretty much everything. There was a small/medium size area of men's clothing, home goods, and decor, while the store had a very robust selection of women's clothing. Many things were categorize with certain pricing; however, there were some items that were individually priced. I bought a pair of black suede made in Italy boots (which I loved) for $25 and a new with tags swimsuit for $11. I thin the quality of the donations they accept seem pretty high so the next time I come back to Burbank I'd be open to drop in again! read more

Overpriced dusty dirty poorly managed smells really bag. You can save a lot of money going to the dollar store instead of here they have a lot of dollar store items for two to $10. It's so overpriced so dirty. I looked inside a vase had so much dirt in it and you can pay a pretty penny for it. read more

In the area and happened to spot The Council Shop on Yelp, and I will definitely be back some time soon... 4 stars!!! Compared to other thrift shops I've been to, this store is on the smaller end, but it has a pretty good selection of clothing, housewares, electronics, decor items, toys, books, cds, etc. They pack in a pretty good variety of merchandise! Although I didn't find any items to rescue, I'll be sure to come back soon to check out what becomes available. The store is pretty clean and organized, thanks to hardworking staff. The staff was also pretty friendly and welcoming. There should be plenty of parking at the front of the store on Magnolia, but there's also a parking lot at the back of the store, where donations are also happily received. On the day that I stopped by, the donations area was buzzing with activity, with at least 5 donors dropping off, and I'll be sure to come back soon. read more

What a nice little thrift shop. I came to donate some clothing and of course I had to check out the place too. Once you walk in there is a shelf of books and novelties for the home. The clothing is organized by color and type (ie dress, long sleeve, etc) to make it easy to shop. There's also furniture that isn't broken and absolutely reusable when you walk out of the store. read more

Really nice guy in the donation center today! We came here because the Good Will bins were full and the guy there recommended this place. There is plenty of parking in the back and a gentlemen greeted us immediately. He offered us a receipt too. The donation center is open from 10-5 PM. This thrift store is right next to Walgreens where I pickup my prescriptions. However, I've never visited this shop until today to check it out. It's a small shop with housewares on the left of the entrance, clothes in the right, purses in the back. Lots of vintage tea sets and dinner wares. Some mini appliances still in boxes. Shelves need reorganizing cuz they're kinda all over the place. Browse through the clothes section but I think $8 for a top is still kind of high. If I wait for clearance sale in regular stores, I'll find better deals for new items. I ended up not buying anything. read more

Very easy to make donations - just pull into the back of the store and there's someone there to help you. I recently got a new desk but my old desk still had a lot of life in it so I wanted to donate it so someone else could use it. A nice gentleman helped us out and took the desk off our hands for donation. Receipt is available via QR code form as well. Very fast process! I was glad my desk could have a second life. read more

I noticed that The Council Shop is a new thrift store on Magnolia Blvd, in the heart of Magnolia Park. I wanted to check it out for a while but I didn't get around to it till recently. I am glad there's a new thrift store in town aka Burbank since some have closed during the pandemic and Goodwill is getting too fancy. There's street parking in front, 2 hours for free. The store has automatic doors (great nowadays), it's big, airy, very clean with nice merchandise. Very relaxing in there, chill vibe, great to browse around. A bit of everything, clothes, furniture, home decor, kitchen items, books, etc. Price are more on the reasonable side, some a tad high,but nothing crazy. Opened daily from 10 am - 6pm. Donations 10 am - 5 pm. I was looking for a new place to donate so I will give it a try. The proceeds help with scolarships, rental assistance and other nice programs. Check their social media for more details. The Council Shop opened in the Valley last year, so it's a new-ish and welcomed addition. I will stop by again while shopping in the area! read more

It was so refreshing having a positive DONATION experience. I can't tell you how many times I've been heartlessly turned away and rejected by Goodwill and Salvation Army employees (which I understand because we can only donate so much and people can only buy so much, so there is a limit.) But to handle that with grace is severely lacking - not with council shop! When I called, the associate was extremely polite and let me know they were open and taking donations until 5pm. I pulled into the back to drop off my small box of home decor accessories to the friendly and approachable staff and happily went on my way. Easy, simple, friendly process. I'm giving this place a 1 star rating 1) because they are hi-price and 2) I put my "work" i.e., my long looked for items that I worked to find, on the counter on hangers in a nice stack, told the guy behind the counter I'd be right back which I was and found my pile had been gone through by other people in the store and he was putting the rest back. I asked him what he was doing and didn't he know those were my things I'd searched the store for for over an hour? He said he forgot and I said you don't take very good care of your customers, do you. Haven't been back since. read more

Doesn't stink but for adults with small children there is no shopping carts available to sit your littles. Child section is super small . More adult clothes. Definitely should have at least one shopping cart with a child seating for any parent wanting to shop . read more

It's a bit dark in this store. It was busy and they had lots of decent clothes, books and knickknacks but they could do better displaying things. Good things looked shabby and shabby things looked worse. Prices were quite a bit higher than expected. read more

Used to be in Studio City but moved to Burbank. I love browsing there. Has a good variety of things. Cd,s,, clothes, toys, shoes, lots of great stuff. I always find something I didn't think I needed but happy I found it. Found a vintage am radio, a belt, an art easel once. I'm an artist so always on the hunt for something to paint a still life. read more

I'm giving this place one star because, as I was leaving the store and getting into my car, two employees were tossing out donations, including clothes, shoes and glass items. Someone had mentioned this before in an earlier post about a year ago on social media. She said that they told her that they didn't have enough space to keep donations so they throw them in the trash. I don't get it. Why not send it to the homeless shelters, Goodwill or put them in the donation bins that are all over the city. There is literally one in the 99c parking lot! I will never shop there again. I never had issues with the workers here. I'm sure it's not a fun job to try to organize in such tight spaces. The donations are decent and I've purchased some treasures but you have to look for them. The store needs more shelves so that things aren't on top of each other. read more

This place is ok. You'd think that for the prices they have, they would put things in size order. Some of the items are overpriced. You can see some items came from the 99 cent store and they are charging 1.99 for it. read more

Have never been in side the store so can't comment on it but I have to say donating here was not a feel good experience. The two young attendants I interacted barely acknowledged my presence and just started taking in all my donations without saying "hi" or "Thankyou". It's not a great feeling to get that type of response when you are donating valuable or meaningful items. I almost wanted to pack my things back up and take them somewhere else. I may be ready to let allot of things go but it still feels better to hand things over to people who show appreciation for the donations they receive or even just people who understand the value of a human interaction. I've found other donation centers where the people processing donations have been lovely. I Just regretted choosing this place for my last donation and plan to take things to out of the closet of some of the other centers with friendlier workers next time. read more

Unfortunately due to the sales associate on Mon. May 31st around 11:30 am I am rating this store a 2. Sales associate was so rude and basically just a body standing there I asked him if they have a fitting room to my knowledge he mumbled that they do so I grabbed a few items and asked him if I could try it on not only did he look at me like I was from outer space but he said very rudely there is no fitting room I said a moment ago I asked you if there was and to my knowledge you said there was he said no I said that there's a mirror that you can look at and pointed to a mirror at corner of store. Told him how rude he was and to not forget that he works there and representing The Council Shop. Completely ignored me. I walked out. However, went to the Goodwill store on 3226 Magnolia Blvd. And they have a 60 day exchange policy. Yippeeee! So new place is Goodwill. read more

The clothing selection is very good compared to other thrift stores. Was able to find some high end labels! the only negative is that there's no fitting room so you kind of have to take a chance and buy an item and hopefully it will fit. I found a really cute denim chambray tunic and a long black cardigan both from high end labels. read more

The clothes on the racks were organized in colors very well. The prices were at the end of each clothes rack so you know how much they cost.! I loved looking at the books & videos & the videos were only three dollars each. Will definitely be back! read more

I have been going to Council shops for a long time, and while I never have loved their stores, I usually find something to buy. In this store I looked at their paltry record collection in about 45 seconds. CD's and DVD's were numerous but overpriced. I would recommend the Council stores in Canoga Park or West LA over this one (although I miss the now closed Van Nuys Council most of all.) read more
