First impressions were great, and we were reassured we would receive a loan from this company by the owner, Kevin, however, a month before closing we received a phone call by an associate of the company stating they cannot work with us anymore. Looking for a clearer answer, we called Keven and sadly, we have yet to receive a return phone call from him. Thankfully, the large, well known mortgage company who we originally planned to work with was quick and thorough and we were able to purchase our home during this seller-based market. I would NOT suggest using this team and/or company as a first-time homeowner to prevent unnecessary stress due unreliability. For my review I gave them a 1/5 stars. The atmosphere in the office is pleasant however, even before being declined, it was hard to communicate with them. Text messages were sent without a response and the phone calls made went to voicemails.

I paid the first loan without any payments being late. Onto the second loan where this month my bank account was compromised for a 25.00 bogus echeck. I had to change accounts etc. I had a payment scheduled to CFFCU which didn't go through due to the account being on hold. I called CFFCU to let them know what was going on and asked if the late fee could be waived. Soon as I asked that, Terri acted like I was lying and asked if I had proof, which of course I have plenty. When I said I did have proof, she stated that it was against Federal law to wave late fees due to possible discrimination. WHAT??? I've never had a banking institution under those circumstances refuse to waive a late charge. Needless to say, due to her attitude and lack of willingness to help, I will never get another loan here nor do I recommend this institution. I don't like being accused of lying, and I don't like being lied to. Stay away from this place, something isn't right...

I have had conversations with Bank of Cleveland personnel who have elected to stay on with Builtwell & with personnel who have chosen to retire. Everyone tells the same story about what a great bank Builtwell is & made suggestions about utilizing services that Builtwell Bank offers that will simplify my banking experience. Builtwell Bank is demonstrating that while things will be different, my experience with them will be good & that they are focused on reducing my stress by offering services that add value to my life.
