What I like best about the park are the mature trees that provide lots of shade. Some of the trees are over 400 years old. There is a huge colorful playground with climbing structures, swings and slides. The base is a mix of mulch and soft matting. Benches line the area for parents to sit and watch kids . (The equipment could use a good cleaning from the trees.) There are two ball diamonds with bleachers within the park. A beautiful stream that meanders through the park attracts fisherman. Tree-covered picnic areas are scattered along the creek. The Vermont Covered Bridge spans the creek and is open to pedestrian traffic. There are restroom facilities near the playground. There are several parking areas throughout the park and you can drive along the creek. Highland Park is a great place to bring the family.

There is parking right next to these attractions and easy access for those who need it. They were both behind glass so the glare made it hard to see both, but they were amusing. Right next to the display was a playground suitable for all ages. The slide is a bit high, and it seemed old, but in good condition. There are also covered picnic tables in the area. Down the ways a bit in the park is a red covered bridge that was fun to walk through and take some photos with. Lastly, there is a large pavilion stage area what was having an orchestra concert, free to attend, and the audience was partially shaded with some picnic tables in the back as well.

I needed a place to stop with bathrooms, but where the toddlers could play while I fed the youngest. This was perfect! It was maybe 7 minutes off Hwy 31 but we weren't in a rush, so no big deal. There's a nature center, but not open the time we arrived. The restrooms are attached to the nature center but luckily accessible from the outside and open when the nature center is not. Restrooms were clean. Just be aware that it's a little hike from the playground. Playground was nice, but in desperate need of new mulch. 2 pavilions but we chose a large tree to provide shade and stretch out under. The grounds are very well groomed and if I lived here, or if I didn't have so many littles, I would have liked to walk the path. Overall a great park!

Near the parking area is a large playground area that has a large fortress for kids to run around. There are also some swings, but not much else considering how much space is allotted to the kids. There is also the Kirkendall Interpretive Center which nobody has reviewed yet...probably because it has limited and odd hours, mostly afternoon. Seems a waste to build a facility and then not have someone there to allow visitors come in. Overall, this is a nice place to go for some peace and quiet or walk your dog if you like taking long walks without having to worry about traffic. There are a couple shelters available, but they require some trekking which can be bothersome if you have to haul a bunch of supplies from the parking lot. Review #2316

There's a fenced in play area for toddlers and quite a bit of playground equipment. Tipton City Park was established in 1914. Because of its location, features like a golf course, baseball diamonds, various game courts, a swimming pool, a Boy Scout Cabin, and other features are within walking distance from a nearby hospital, Fairview Cemetery, the schools, and the Tipton Historical Society's Heritage Center. You can rent the Boy Scout Cabin and pavilions. There's also a gazebo available for rent. Tipton City Park is clearly one of the main recreational spots for the city of Tipton. It offers a ton for children and youth - it's also pretty darn good for adults with the gazebo frequently being a spot for special events and musical events. This was a fairly quick stop for me this time around, though I went by it a couple of times during my recent Tenderness Tour event. Located on SR 19, Tipton City Park is super easy to get to if you're in the Tipton area. While it's not a fully accessible park, it's surprisingly solid and I had very little difficulty getting around the park.

Flat Fork Creek Park is part of Fishers Parks. Located at 101st and Cyntheanne Road, Flat Fork Creek Park offers just over 60 acres of relaxing fun for just about everyone in the family including a good amount of ADA accessibility. First off, you'll get a 60-foot sledding hill here. That's good to know as we inch toward winter. It's the tallest point in Hamilton County. There's also a 1.25 mile progressive mountain bike course that offers features for both mountain biking newbies and those with more experience. There's a beautiful fishing pond - state license required except for those 17 and under. Nearly 20 acres in the park are reforestation areas and there's a shelter with picnic tables that can be rented. Okay, that accessibility I mentioned? The 3k I did was a relatively small group, though it was centered around disability and had several disabled participants. The park includes an ADA accessible treehouse, a paved multi-use trail, and a boardwalk (I would note that while the boardwalk is, indeed, accessible, you do want to be a tad careful due to the side of the boardwalk that do offer a bit of a drop-off). You know what I think is really cool? They've created a ramp here so that even those with mobility issues can get to the top of the sledding hill - in most parks, that's an afterthought. As a side note, Fishers has won awards for their inclusion work and this park really shows it. This is really just a lovely park. You're not going to find a playground or other frequent park features, however, this beautiful park does a nice job of including everyone and weaving together nature with fun park adventures. This was my first time here. It won't be my last.

A set of restrooms as part of a small building is also available in the park. The park could use some benches around the playground for caregivers and a paved trail to walk the dog or take a stroll would be nice. Pickle ball looks first come, first serve. I'm not an expert, but there are no fences between the 4 pickle ball courts so you could get hit by a flying ball from someone else's court. The grounds are well maintained with nice mature trees. The park has a restroom facility and nice large picnic shelter with picnic tables under it. There are 2 unlighted baseball diamonds that are in dire need of some TLC. There is a decent paved basketball court that has recently been repaved. Next to the court is a wide-open black top. The park's play ground was added in 2004 and has a glider swing where parents can sit and watch their little ones. It is on a bed of wood chips and its equipment includes monkey rings, a large jungle gym with a climbing net, parallel bars, bridges, a tunnel slide, a spiral slide and a traditional slide. There is also a bank of traditional swings, a bank of toddler swings, and a standing see-saw. You will find a small jungle gym for little kids that is made of plastic and has a few slides. There is a bench on the perimeter of that area that parents can sit and get a breather while their littles play. There are a few decent pockets of green space that can be used to play catch, fly a kite, or have a football game or soccer match. This is a nice park and is the only one in the town. The shelter can be rented for events. It does not reach the threshold of a destination park, but is a nice place to come and hang out, while the littles one play, if you are in the area.
