Friendly location with great staff. It is a smaller location and open on weekends. I came here Sunday morning and was seen early. They kept me more comfortable with my MRI here than other locations. Only gripe is it took about a week to get the results compared to up to two days or even a couple hours away, however it's probably more a radiology staffing issue. read more

Don't rely on Community Radiology Associates - My husband was supposed to have MRI and went there - the call center told me it was the right one for his need. After waiting for one hour, one staff went in from back room and saw us and saw the computer opened by front desk staff. The staff went back in and then came back - told front desk staff to tell us that they cannot do MRI. Simply because there is no radiologist there doing it. I asked them how that could happen and it was scheduled and confirmed. They could not do anything except shaking their heads. Don't recommend this. read more

Calling to schedule. It was difficult to understand the person speaking. In addition to a heavy accent she seemed to slur her words . She put me on hold and then hung up on me. I was there for a dexa scan. The lady who did the dexa scan was very professional. However their computer is very slow so don't bother requesting a CD. And you won't get the results because they send you a link to a portal? With some kind of a code that you need and when you try to enter your birthdate that won't work either. I have yet to find a portal that works well and provide you with any useful information. What's the point of getting a test if you can't see the results? I won't be seeing my doctor again because I'm moving out of state in two days. read more

My adult son was recently hospitalized and diagnosed with a pulmonary mass. After discharge, his physician ordered a PET Scan, which was done at the Olney Community Radiology Associates (CRA) on 7/18/25, and still has NOT had a radiologist interpret it. Both the American College of Radiology and CRA declare that a PET Scan should be interpreted by a radiologist within 24-48 hours after the PET Scan is completed. Both the National Institute of Health and the American College of Radiology have declared that delays in care, including delayed interpretation of PET Scans, can have a negative impact on patient outcomes. I am a retired trial lawyer. My litigation practice was primarily medical malpractice. This intentional oversight by CRA is malicious and malignant. CRA needs to have a radiologist interpret it NOW read more

I scheduled an MRI, appt was 10am had to get there at 9:30, after waiting over an hour I went up and asked if they forgot about me, I was told the wait was at least another hour because they were backed up. How do you get 2 hrs behind at 10am! I just left to find a better provider read more

I was able to go online and schedule an appointment the same day. Was checked in at the front desk within 15 minutes after I arrived. The place was packed. I was called back for my appointment within 10 minutes of my appointment time and the x-ray tech. was very professional and courteous. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is that the appointment was this morning and the review/report of my x-rays has not been posted yet. read more

Fantastic patient care, specifically women's imaging. Always kind and understanding and patient. However, I have been trying for over a month to have my images sent to another facility out of state that I recently moved to. You can't speak with anyone - it's only texting, only to explain over and over the same thing. My frustration is over the top. appt 5/27/26 for ct scan of pelvis with and without contrast-told time of appt wanted blood test!!! no advance request for what they needed- then questioned physician orders and wanted new order. appt was made over 1 month ago and nobody bothered to look it over???? be sure to recontact them after appt made to be sure they have everything before you go!!! read more

My doctor ordered a PET scan. Community Radiology only does PET scans in Olney and Frederick so I made the appointment for Olney. When I called to schedule I was told that there are certain preparations before the scan but I would get complete instructions. Of course, I was curious so did some research and wasn't totally surprised by pre-scan prep. You have to avoid caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours and fast for 6 hours before your appointment. I had just finished checking in when the technician called me back. I was taken to an area in the back where there was a small waiting room with a recliner chair, extra chair, small table, counter, and a t.v. with remote control. After a quick glucose test I was injected with the radioactive dye. There were radioactive area signs on the door, which I'm used to since I worked at NIH for many years. It wasn't until later I realized it was me that was radioactive, which is why they don't send you back to the main waiting room! I was settled into the chair and told it would be an hour before the procedure. Through the door I could see the room with the scan and a long area with a window for the technician to monitor the procedure. Someone had put a glittery, festive patriotic display in my room and I could see another one where the technician was. The displays really helped me relax as it broke up the "medical vibe". There were also small white lights circling his window. My husband was allowed to wait with me so we watched t.v. and fiddled with our phones. After an hour I was called into the scan room and settled into the machine. It's a little claustrophobic but didn't take too long and thankfully the end results were good. I'd rather be reviewing a delicious meal at a fancy restaurant rather than a PET scan but it is what it is! All things considered, the staff was nice, the decorations welcome, and not as bad as I feared. read more

One year ago my review was somewhat positive for the Olney office of CRA. The issue was the delay in getting the scan images on a CD. I waited 45 minutes after the scan just to get the disk. One year later and a completely different story. My appointment was for 9:20 for a CT scan of my chest. I got there at 8:55. Between the desk reviewing my paperwork, the scan itself and getting the disk in my hand...all took exactly 25 minutes. I was leaving at 9:20. The original time of my appointment. Unreal. And the desk people and scan tech could not have been nicer. Very positive experience! read more

I went To this community Radiology because I'm claustrophobic and they do open MRI although is open I still have to take a sedation pill ‍but the technician name Tracey and another female technician were so nice, patient and show me compassion the whole time. Since my original review, the VA has called CRA to try to fix the problem and not only has CRA not done anything to resolve the error, they have not even bothered to contact the collections agency to withdraw the bill. So the VA is still waiting for the bill and I'm still getting collections notices. Unacceptable. read more

It is truly a shame that in today's medical care system, that Insurance Companies dictate our health. It was suggested by our Physician to go to this facility due to our Health Plan. It would be our second experience with an MRI there. The first visit was heaven. "Claudia" (no longer there; was transferred to 18111 Prince Phillip Drive prof bldg) could not have been more congenial, professional and efficient. Our experiences of the 2 visits could not have been more different.. We were instructed by "Megan" at the scheduling center to arrive 1 hour early to our appointment. No other instructions were given. Being compliant patients, we arrived one hour early just as "Megan" said to do. WRONG. Due to our now future 1 hour wait time, I went to recharge my cell phone in an outlet, and was told by "Nancy" Cell phones were not allowed due to magnetic imaging used on the premises. Instead of challenging her, and insulting her intelligence on the subject of simple Physics; I returned to my seat like a good girl.. Walking past "Nancy's" reception desk back to my chair, I heard (and witnessed) her vibrating personal cell phone, I felt somewhat compelled to immediately inform her of the horrific risks involved of having a cell phone "on" in a Magnetic Resonance zone! Rats were gonna fall from the sky!! Nancy, Nooooooo! but alas, Nancy came back to her chair just in time! Whew! that was close. It is still unclear to this day, if Nancy returned the call. To prevent from being reprimanded by various Nazi Staffers, here are the unwritten rules people: 1. Wear or bring socks. Unless you want to walk on a germ laden potentially infectious floor in a medical facility, there are no foot covers provided, 2. If you are pre-medicating with a valium type medicine, ti-trate accordingly and fortuitously for the wait time. Someone must provide transportation for you as well, they may not allow you to leave the premise if you are not sober. 3. Do not expect TLC from any of the staff. Remember the Community Radiology Company "vision statement" You need them; they don't need you. 4. Do not leave without a copy of the CD of the procedure to take with you. A written report is sent to your referring physician which may take up to 1 week. 5. If the "Rx" is not clearly written, you had better know why the procedure is being done. The staff needs to enter the information in their computer at the time of your MRI or etc. If you don't know, they may ask for your mothers phone number. This appears to be VERY life dependent information to them. 4. NO CELL PHONES. I repeat.. ACHTUNG! .NO CELL PHONES! Let's be careful out there. read more

Changing room was not cleaned between customers. The worker just cleaned up the trash & dirty gown and told me to go in and change...no wipe down nothing. You have to leave your clothes hanging there too. Ultrasound tech was abrupt and rushed doing the ultrasound. Also very inpatient. Facility is not maintained very well at all. Will not be going back there ever. read more

While this particular radiology center has knowledgeable, friendly technicians (who are actually taking care of patients and running scans), this place is getting a two star review because of billing. Be wary - they'll tell you that you need to pay $X dollars for your exam upfront and you have no voice in whether or not it's correct until AFTER you've shelled out an amount that is equal to 3-4 times the price. The check-in staff will tell you that they have nothing to do with how much you're being charged, but they will gladly take your money and leave it up to you to discover later that you were inappropriately billed. Ridiculous. A person like me who has to watch their finances will ask themselves: "Is that right? That seems like an awful lot of money for one test." Be your best advocate and take your medical needs elsewhere. read more

Fast, professional, polite, clean rooms. Plenty of patients and people (seen at least 3-4) in waiting area on cell phones, not sure what the other yelper is talking about. Went in on time, took my info (2 mins), waited (1 min), was escorted to mri machine, changed (2 min), out the door like 40-45 mins later. Could not have been any better. Highly recommend. Btw. Don't go to the Greenbelt Comm Radiology! I took the day off of work and went there for several scans with contrast. When I got there after I filled out all their TONS of redundant paperwork they told me I needed a current blood test before the scans can be done. Wasn't that nice of them to tell me I needed a blood test AFTER I arrived on the day of the test instead of telling me before hand? They could have told me when they told me to drink of a ton of water that morning and bring water with me but no, they casually say oops so sorry that we stupidly forget to tell you that you need a blood test first. Then they start laughing as if it was funny. It isn't funny to me when I'm wasting a day off of work for NOTHING! Needless to say I was then, and still am REALLY TICKED OFF. They should pay for my day of missed work! I wish I could give them NEGATIVE 10 STARS because they are terrible. Everyone be aware what you are working with at that place! read more

They told me to arrive 30 mins before my 3.30 appt. I got there on time and filled out the paperwork in 5 minutes. They didn't take me in for my CAT scan until 3.50. When I got in there, the tech missed my vein on my left arm and told me it rolled. She dug around my left arm and then told me she couldn't get it and switched to my right. She did get the right vein on the first try. The communication from the front desk was poor. They asked me why I was there so early and I told them that I was instructed to do so when I made my appt. The girl at the front desk asked "They did?" No explanation or estimated wait time. Technician was nice once she got my vein. Hopefully, I will never need service like this again. If I do, I will probably try someplace else. read more

I arrived 20 minutes early for my 5:30 pm appointment, completed the paperwork in 5 minutes and had to wait until almost 6pm before they took me in for the MRI. While they say it is an open MRI, it is not like the really modern open MRI's when you can remain seated or standing. At this location, you are still laying down and rolled into the machine. Granted it is not a tube and you can see out the side a little bit and can still get somewhat claustrophobic. Although the tech was very patient and asked if I was alright through the 40 minute test. My experience here was as good as it gets. Setting up the appointment was easy. The pre-appointment instructions I got were clear. I arrived on time and did not have to wait for a front desk person to assist me. They were also clear about what information they needed. They were professional and friendly. I only waited about 5 minutes to go back to get my procedure. The waiting room is bright and clean and there are many comfortable chairs. Not a very interesting magazine selection (which is the worst thing I can say about my experience and I don't know about you, but I don't go to a medical appointment hoping to catch up on my magazine reading!). The technician who performed my procedure was absolutely fantastic (I'm so sorry that I don't remember her name or I'd give her a shout out here). She was kind, explained exactly what was going to happen very clearly, kept checking with me to make sure I was OK and that I understood what was happening. Not only did she have a great personality, but her technical skills were above par. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here again. read more

Don't fall for them. On the phone they told me they had locations all over the area but that the olney location was the only one with an open MRI. I told them I had had 2 previous brain MRI ' scans with wide open MRI in Frederick and it had been a decent experience. They said they had bought out wide open MRI in Frederick and if I wanted the open one I needed to come to Olney. I was told to arrive 30 minutes early and that the scan would take 30 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes early, had taken an herbal relaxant I arrived at 1:00 for a 1:30 appointment. They did not take me back until 2:05. By then the valerian was wearing off. I had brought a fan and music because at the 2 other places I had MRI's performed they had suggested it to not feel as claustrophobic. I carried my fan and the woman very rudely informed me that no electricity was allowed in the room with the machine. I said I had always done it before and she told me no one allows them. She took me to a change room. I wS surprised I would have to completely remove clothing and wear a gown when for a brain one I had not had to do that before. They had signs posted that even if you had so done with you, they would also be required to wear a gown. I asked if I could see the machine before changing to assure me that it was open. I was shocked when they took me back during someone else's test. I went to chane, the curtain didn't close completely. I couldn't get the gown tied in the back so when they called me I asked if the other patient was still there as I thought it was a male patient. In very rude tones they said it is a woman and you can just pass them in the hallway. When I got into the actual room I asked another technician if she could tie the gown. She was annoyed. I asked if they had music , again she was annoyed and informed me that they did not have music ability. I saw the machine closer. It was not wide open. It was like a rectangle with the ends open but not the sides. I was nervous but was going to try to do it. I asked how far my head would be inside and if my feet would be out. She said" being that your head is connected to your body if course you will be completely inside". She didn't give me the button to push in case if problems until I asked. She was so condescending and rude! I tried twice and because it was not wide open and because the head cage felt way more constraining than the other times I had had this done. I just couldn't do it. Instead of asking if I was ok she said "did you already make a payment" stay away from this place. Rude rude rude and it may be wider than other MRI's but it us not wide open and if you have claustrophobia it is awful. I called another place today to ask theirs and said I couldn't do it at community radiology and they said they would be much nicer than their, I asked what she meant and she said they get lots if patients come to them after a bad experience at community radiology. Oh plus when I scheduled the appt they told me the scan would take 30 minutes and when I asked the tech again with rude and condescending time said I do t know who told you that but it will be 45 min to an hour and she said only their closed MRI's take 30 min. I was scheduled for an open mri and after I called, the machine looked like it was closed. The tech kept referring to it as open, but after they strapped me in it was clearly closed and they baited and switched me. I asked to be let out before it started and left. Avoid doing a mammogram at the CRA in Olney at all costs UNLESS you like pain. Worst experience ever! The tech did not care that she was hurting me so bad and I was trying not to cry.
