One barium bottle. Had to drink 3 - one every 20 minutes.
    Devon N.

Had two MRIs here in several years. Tube is bigger than all the others I've tried, which is nice. Wait time is minimal probably due to their technician who adheres to a strict timetable. I have had several MRIs at Community Radiology & MRI around the back of the hospital, so I'm very familiar with these tests. Had to get an MRI Enterography. Have had numerous CT scans drinking barium, & the barium always explodes out of me before the test starts but staff allows me time to expel it before the test. Also, the amount I am required to drink is two bottles versus three (in one hour) as required by Progressive. I've never had to do an 18 hr. fast & purge my bowels in the past except for bonafide colonoscopies but Progressive requires this prep. My experience was horrible. After downing an eight pack of Gatorade and an entire 8 ounce bottle of powdered MiraLAX, I had not stopped "purging" all night long and into the morning. I had read the horror stories online about other people soiling themselves multiple times in the waiting room, so I had purchased adult diapers, just in case even though staff & Dr. claimed that erupting doesn't happen. Liars! Beware, Progressive only has one toilet for patients located right beside the waiting room, so your mad-butt-squeezing dashes to the toilet & inevitable sounds are observed & heard by everyone in the vicinity. I gave up & drank the 3rd bottle sitting on the toilet. Tech told my SO that I had to start the test even though I was midway into actively purging the copious volume of barium I had to guzzle. Diaper in place, I walked to the machine but please note, the table is stationary at one level only. You cannot sit down & then lie down. No, you need to get on a step stool & hoist your body onto the table. I'm 5'5" tall. I had to be on my stomach for one hour with arms above my head the entire time. My adhesions from shoulder mobility issues screamed at me after five minutes. I soiled the diaper climbing into place. Then my bladder filled up over the next hour until but I wasn't allowed by the tech to pause the test to relieve myself - she said that if I did, I would need to reschedule. I was in agony! Then I had to hold my breath for 27 seconds at a time over & over. Finally the torture session was over. Be aware, tech never assists you when trying to get up on or down off the table. I couldn't stand up straight. Bent over, I quick stepped it back into the bathroom & thank God it wasn't occupied! Tech made it seem as though I was the only patient in the history of modern medicine to suffer what I did, but I know this to be untrue! I'm so thankful I researched it; otherwise, I would have soiled my clothes & the MRI tube. Great place for regular MRIs if you don't need assistance climbing up onto the MRI machine table & don't mind the brusque demeanor of the tech. Front desk girls were nice. Probably had plenty to talk about my visit after I left. Funny but gross. I hope they never have to endure such an ordeal. Have had six colonoscopies, multiple CT scans needing to drink barium & none were as bad as this experience. Community Radiology did not require this prep.

My September visit with the doctor for knee issues was fine. I received cortisone shots in both knees and a recommendation to use knee braces for gym, sports, and activities. When I asked, the assistant working with the doctor the cost of the braces, she quoted me approximately $150 each and noted that she needed to order them--for arrival the next day. Seemed pretty reasonable. Conveniently for PVOC/CAO, the billing system was down when I went to pick up the braces, so I ELECTRONICALLY signed for them without paying attn to the cost. I was billed a couple weeks later $298.61 for each brace. I attempted to return the unused braces, but the receptionist indicated that once I walked out of the office with them, they were not returnable. I left five messages for the Olney location office manager (Ryan) to question the return policy and billing. No matter what time of day it was he was either at lunch or not in the office. It's been over 2 months, and he still hasn't returned any of my calls. The only call I did receive about the braces, was a harassing call from the billing department.

I have never had to wait more than 30 minutes to be taken to an exam room since it opened and usually it takes less time. You can book online or call for a scheduled appointment. They also quote you a price for cash basis (uninsured) patient care, which was reasonable when our daughter's boyfriend needed sutures when he cut himself doing a chore for us. Righttime in Olney has implemented new and more streamlined systems since they opened and yesterday I was happy with my care. I was called back to an exam room right away, my vitals & medical history/meds/primary care doctor confirmed. The doctor came in soon after. The system that they have in place appears to be working. You should temper your expectations, however. This is the place for cuts requiring sutures, allergic rashes, mild asthma, strep throat cultures, UTIs, pink eye, a bad cold, lung or breathing issues, x-rays, and other ailments that require antibiotics, suturing, etc. The prescribing of meds containing opioids is a hot topic in the U.S. these days due to the addiction epidemic so doctors are mindful of this unfortunate consequence and have cut back on prescribing opioids. It is not a phenomena of Righttime, it is happening all over the U.S. and in hospital ERs as well. Doctors are following protocols set in place by this epidemic. The doctors are staffed according to the clinic's historical trends, so arriving at 10am on a weekday might result in a dearth of medical staff if most patients come after work. Surges in the number of patients sometimes cannot be predicted, so you may need to wait longer during these times, but never as long as you do if you go to the hospital ER. It is way less expensive than an ER visit and I hope it will be in Olney for years to come.
