As a DV victim, I have been working tirelessly over the past month with four kids while facing homelessness. I have applied for every state resource, sought all available grants, and was referred here more than three weeks ago. It took me two weeks to speak with Karina. I obtained money through a GoFundMe created for me and my children after the terrible events, and I managed to come up with a deposit for a home. However, I am unable to pay this month's rent. On the day of my interview, I was praying for the assistance this program claims to provide--financial independence, resources to help victims maintain safe and permanent housing, and the ability to live safely and freely. But since I didn't stay passive while waiting for Karina to find time in her schedule and instead stayed in survival mode to care for my children, I do NOT qualify for this financial assistance. She told me I have to wait to reapply after I get evicted (a three-day notice is in hand today), but that is not enough to meet the program's qualifications. I will not give up. I plan to write a letter to the board of directors of this program, along with all the donors, to explain how I was treated and how a little help could have improved my situation. I also suggest including the requirement that applicants must be homeless in the flyer. Furthermore, allowing only one person to make the final decision and not considering how an eviction affects a mother desperately trying to rebuild her life is heart-wrenching. read more

I always find great stuff here. My recent awesome finds were 7 for all mankind jeans ($25), a old two drawer solid wood card catalogue drawer ($20), Justin leather cowboy boots ($12), a leather bag ($13), and a vintage Ross woman's bike ($30). Note that the boots and the bag were during their 50% off yellow tag sale (they do this regularly but I am not sure which weekend during the month, I was here during the 1st weekend) so they weren't originally priced that cheap. Its kinda hit or miss with the pricing, sometimes their prices are great, and sometimes they are a little high. I always seem to find awesome stuff here in my size for prices that I think are fair, so I have nothing to complain about. All their items are usually in good condition, and the store is laid out in a easy to navigate way. And they take credit, also awesome. read more

Let me begin by saying that I think you can find a decent deal on non-clothing items here. I scored a pretty sweet picnic set for $6 last weekend. They have some unique items that I can't take home, but like to look at, like old instruments and funny home decor. But, it seems like the standard here in California is for clothing in thrift shops to be grossly overpriced. Seriously, you want me to pay $12 for a used sweater from...some other decade? Or even this decade? I think my thrift shopping experience has been spoiled by the shops I grew up going to, where you could fill a paper grocery bag as full as you wanted and only pay $5. I'm hopeful I'll find a place like that here, but not yet. And definitely not this place. read more

Lots of cool stuff and it's for a great cause. For a thrift store, though, I found it to be overpriced. (Almost subtracted a star for that.) But as I mentioned, it's going to a good cause - so I'm not over-the-top upset about it. They do take credit cards, though, so that makes up for the star that I *almost* deducted. read more

I love this organization. The individuals that work here provide an excellent and much needed service to the Northern San Diego Community. From traveler to struggling community member, this is the place to go for healthy food and much needed recourses. The staff is especially amazing. I have dealt with several different organizations while on my travels, and the Community Recourse Center, takes the cake as being the most pleasant to work with. My case worker, Linda, was amazing. She was kind, gracious, and overall very understanding to my specific case. She is amazing! Honestly, I am writing this review mainly for her. She really went out of her way to help me, and it meant a lot to me. Thank you CRC staff, y'all are great! read more

I like this thrift shop as they do attract some unusual items and some necessities. I believe in buying old and the concept of recycling to reduce global warming, but the prices here are on the expensive side for a second-hand place. Sometimes if you get there at the right moment you will find something great. Furniture is always placed on the sidewalk so you can drive by daily to check out what's new. Saturday's are a good time to find new items. The proceeds do go to helping abused women and children which is a good thing. read more

I love this store! I have been shopping here for many years. Over the years I have gotten many cute things for great prices. Now that they have moved their prices have gone up a bit, but there are still many reasonable priced treasures. Plus the profits go to a great organization. Great for furniture as well. My couch came from this store at a whopping $20!!! Actually 70-80% of my home has come from this store. I highly recommend this place!! read more

First off I really like the location being so close to Moonlight Beach. I always park near the beach and walk over to check out the store. The staff are friendly and polite here and it's a great place to give your own donations. I am giving this place 4 Stars and not 5 only because I have never actually shopped for anything other than Books and DVD here this far. That being said the variety of books here is amazing! I always leave this place with at least 5 novels, which usually adds up to an whooping $10! There are always tons of best sellers here and I never have trouble finding new books to read. If you read a lot but break the bank with your habit I would suggest going here. You won't be disappointed! The icing on top of the cake is that your money goes to a great cause at the end of the day :) everyone wins! read more

Yes, like the reviewers noted, they are a little overpriced.They have a wide variety of Women's clothing but do not have many children's items. You will notice a few pieces of vintage clothing, too. Community Resource Center provides a great service to members in our community. And the profits are for women who have faced domestic violence. read more

I would give the CRC one star if the "home" department wasn't apart of it, I've found a owl salt and pepper shaker set once that was in really good condition and very cute. The "designer" section in the clothing portion is extremely dated and way overpriced. It's pretty disgusting since everything is donated and you can find up to date, way cheaper designer in Flashbacks just down the street. We've even donated what we can't sell at Flashbacks to the CRC only to see the price jacked up 3 or 4 times. It's not affordable and whoever does the pricing doesn't know the value of the merchandise at all, even when the price tag is still attached. read more

I think its a great Thrift Store, I go there alot and have gotten alot of good things in both shops, They have great clothes and tons of great books too. Everything is priced well, and I usually allways find things I like. It's very busy and they are allways putting out new stuff, so if you see something, you better get it then cause the next day it will be gone. I have never seen any broken stuff and seriously the volunteers do not bring their kids to work with them, it's the shoppers who let their kids run all over the place. read more

CRC makes it so easy to donate and Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. You drive right up to the front of the building and they have two people that will help get the donations out of your car (rain or shine!) and then ask if you want a receipt. You don't even have to get out of your car! Time to clean out your closets and donate those things you're no longer using so someone else can appreciate them :) read more

Visited for first time, will not be back...Same as Carlsbad CRC- way overpriced and clothing not inspected for stains, tears, rips, ....I can't believe they stay in business at these shops. The clothing/accessories so overpriced and I am not sure why they think certain labels are designers when they are just run of the mill retail....Ann Taylor a designer? Haven't seen her dresses on the red carpet!!! Just a waste of time really. They simply don't have price points that satisfy the thrift store customer. they could move more merchandise and make a lot more money with better pricing. when you find that Ann Taylor blouse (small stains underarms and a button missing) expect to pay $8-$10!!!!
