I didnt feel comfortable with what he told me cause he started saying My Lawyer in Info in my POA was wrong and Misinformed. Then I asked to speak to some one in accounts And he said No "I already told you, I have nothing else to tell you" I asked "sir, but I have some questions, if we open an account ...... He refused to talk further. I asked to speak to someone in accounts as I had more question He said "No, I already to you" Not sure what he told me but thats not a good look. Instead of helping me with the paperwork, the rep wanted to sell me on their loans and investing my money. After saying I just needed the information, he said "I can get this to you tomorrow, I have a meeting in 5 minutes." I still have yet to receive the paper work from this contact at the branch. I went through the Toll free number for ALL the paper work within 10 minutes.

Great Lakes is very friendly and helpful when opening an account but apparently that is just to…read moresnare you in their web. If you ever try to call the bank it is impossible. I have the number to the woman in charge and she never answers or returns calls. Same happens with the main phone by the lobby. Workers say that they are busy helping customers but i have gone in when it is vacant and used my phone right there and it dose not ring. Apparently there is a computer by their work area and it alerts them to calls but they don't see them or check messages. There are like 3 phone numbers online to call but they are useless. I called one of them and it told me i had one a life alert button and went into a promotion. Then i called another and it was some guy about stocks. Then there is one with a virtual assistant that is worthless. All in all if you want to try and conduct business over the phone with them you are out of luck.....

When I spoke to Marlene at GLCU she did not understand that when Great Lakes ran the deposit the MICR line was read incorrectly and they would need to fix it. Nope they just wanted to blame me or the other bank where the routing number was completely wrong location. I also tried calling customer service, she was very nice but then I must have gotten the wrong email, because it was returned undeliverable. Lastly I verified with my bank and she agreed the MICR was encoded incorrectly, but she said sometimes you can't reason with people. I tried to go to bat for this customer, but unfortunately there wasn't anything I could do to help other than write another check and hope it doesn't get returned. Very Disappointed.
